Granny’s Waffle Sandwiches was a hidden find when detouring from Old Town Temecula. At the back corner of a giant antique shop, I was able to visit the place once to use an online coupon, which is how I heard about it. I tried Becky’s BRAG(bacon, raspberry jam, avocado, gorgonzola cheese), on account of the recommendation from Becky herself. Though the promotional value on my coupon had expired, she still accepted it at face value and we chatted a little bit about the restaurant and menu. The waffle sandwich was a fine mixture of ingredients; sweet and savory matched up and the powdered sugar sprinkled on top the waffle was a lovely touch. After enjoying the sandwich, she asked me to contribute to her heavily signed wall. Other items on the menu looked as enticing as some things I’ve seen from other waffle sandwich restaurants that have sprouted up. It was located in an industrial area I don’t visit often so I never got the chance to go back and try the popular Grilled Cheese Donut. I’m sorry to learn that the business couldn’t stick around.

I’m so glad that there is a waffle spot like this in town because I love waffles and I love ice cream. I guess they been open for a while but I just didn’t know about it but I’m glad I found them. I used to come here all the time for the old school sodas which are always cool. So I read some reviews and then I headed over asap and I wasn’t disappointed. Okay so this is a mom and pop operation so it’s nothing fancy. I got the butter pecan ice cream waffle sandwich and it was good I just wish it was bigger. I will definitely be back for more and more.

Awww, YEAH!!! NOWAAY I’m missin’ out on sampling SOMEOFTHIS waffleness!!! Located in Temecula, INSIDE Granny’s Attic Antique Mall, it’s a newly opened eatery focused on the grid laden delight! Best exit off the 15fwy is Rancho California Rd. Lots of street parking in this industrial area. If you’re into antiques, this is certainly a big warehouse to peruse through, however we took the express, cuz I got boys that HAVETO put their hands on EVERYTHING, eeks! NOTOUCH-Y!!! PUTYOURHANDSDOWN! KEEPWALKING! Alright, alright, yeah, I’m a bit of a STIRRR-RESS case!!! No maps to guide you so, pass through the lobby area, TURNRIGHT, then follow the tracks heading for the red sign & neon, like«X» marks the waffle treasure. Friendly counter service. We only had a short wait before we were able to sample a few items… *NUTELLAWAFFLEWICH: The waffles are created perfectly here! Just enough crispness outside with a soft moist middle, and a hint of sweetness. Generous serving of Nutella and bananas. We passed on the cream cheese though. My munchkin chowed down happily on half before tappin’ out. All wafflewiches come with potato chips. *VEGANWAFFLEWICH: Their preparation of the Gardenburger was tasty! Wasn’t too greasy or chewy. Fresh toppings and pesto sauce with a perfect waffle made for good eats! *GRILLEDCHEESEDONUT W/HAM: Use a glazed donut for a sandwich? WHYNOT??? However, by no means is it hearty. Certainly for small appetites and it had no chance in the hands of my little man. Poof! Gone! *ICECREAMSANDWICH: Fresh waffle with rock hard Ice cream… So YUM! Only a few flavors to sample from: Chocolate, strawberry, vanilla, mint & chip, cookies n cream from Thrifty brand and First Street brand ice creams. Waffles here are PERFECT for ice cream sammies! Crisp, yet soft inside, combined with firm ice cream means nothing squishes out with every bite! I enjoyed a strawberry one on the way out. It was so comforting, I came back the next day for a cookies & cream delight. Yummy fer sure! Reasonable prices, friendly & prompt service, and well crafted grub make this an easy recommendation for the area. A WONDERFUL way to escape the heat in Temecula or enjoy waffles not everyone can create so consistently tasty ;)
