Let’s not close this location. There’s not a lot of variety in the area unless you want asiab food every day.

a small venue ½ the size of a normal hometown. not upgraded except for the ICE machine and the carvery. Food was ok. service is average. not set for large group like a normal size hometown. management is friendly. I will return I will not pass judgement on a first visit

I went to this place hoping to have a tasty meal and the choices were depressing. The food was cold. Many trays had little amounts of food and the appearance was bad. I had already paid so I decided to try it anyway. I got the fried chicken which was greasy, the waffle potatoes which were hard, the corn which tasted like it was going bad and the soup was awful. I have tried other hometown buffets and this one sucks! The desserts were very limited and they seemed to have been there for a long time. The ice cream section had no toppings at all. It was a very bad experience! I feel sorry for the many elderly people who apparently go to this place. They deserve much better food!

This location has really gone down over the years. I remember HomeTown Buffet actually being decent, and used to be excited to come here. But in the recent years, every single time I come here, I don’t have a good experience at all. The quality of food isn’t good. Let’s just start off with that. There’s not a lot to choose from, to be honest. There are only a couple good things here: the mashed potatoes(when they come out fresh), the stuffing, and the corn bread. That’s pretty much it. And for the price, it’s altogether disappointing. You’ll have a better experience at Zen Buffet, which is right across the street, and is just a couple dollars more.

They need to be better prepared for crowds. Had to wait far too long for food. People were asking for money back. Very frustrating

I went in to hometown buffet yesterday and i was surprised of how good the food quality is! I came around 4 for dinner and everything was fresh, and the service was awesome! I was offered fresh bakery items and was constantly checked up on by the staff. Will come again for lunch! Dinner was a little pricey for me(16 $), i cant eat that much! ^_^ over experience A+. I suggest trying the fried chicken and mashed potatoes with gravey

I should have read the reviews first before coming but we were in the area and thought to give this a try. this has got to be the worst buffet ever. they ran of food at 7pm. people were standing in line for food and they rushed to cook more chicken which half came out half cooked. very limited selection. beef is dry like paper. seem like these are from left overs from last night. and the manager seem oblivious to what is going on and heard him tell his employees to just do the best they could ?? the employees are nice and easy to talk to but even that is no way going to convince anyone to come back. the place looks dungy and unappetizing. never ever coming back and certainly will not recommend to anyone.

The cashier named Elaine is very rude/racist toward people using coupon. She will gives you an attitude once you show her the coupon. Maybe she trying to save the extra foods for herself after closing. Her weight says it ALL.

I remember coming here with the whole family and sometimes waiting an hour in line. It’s such a shame it’s gone down. I did not have a good experience 4 years ago and stopped coming since. I decided to give it another try and perhaps if I go during prime dinner time the food would be fresh. I came yesterday with a friend. I had her look up what day is steak night. She went on their website and it said steak night every night. We went and when I asked about Steak Night the cashier said its Mondays and Tuesdays only but he will talk to the manager and they will cook something up. I was surprised and delighted. I waited for a bit and a manager came out. He asked to see the website. My friend gave him her phone. He looked at the page, exit out of the page(???) and started browsing around on the site. I asked him what is he doing, and he said he’s looking for the steak page again. Few minutes have passed and my friend is looking uncomfortable holding her plate of food which is getting cold. I told her she can just sit down and I’ll get her phone back. The manager just kept browsing around the main website… I got fed up just standing there and I told him forget it. He said sorry and left, completely wasting my time. I wish they would have just been honest at the register that it doesn’t matter what it says on the website their restaurant is different. Food was old as before. The corn was sour. Their mash potato is just as good as I remember having as a child. The dessert station was decent. I liked their fried chicken. Our waitress was really nice, thus the two stars instead of one. I would not be coming back and I would remind all my friends to stay away.

Their breakfast here on the weekends is actually pretty decent and fairly priced. Their omelettes are pretty good for what you get which is egg and however much toppings you want. There is country fried steak, bacon, sausage, fruits, random breakfast casseroles– it’s all pretty good! I would rather come here for the variety than go to a dennys or ihop for breakfast. Also, they have menudo here on the weekend breakfasts! Throw a little cabbage, onions, and lime juice and mmm mmm good!

HomeTown Buffet coupons show up frequently in our mailbox, so after spotting a promotion for $ 4.99 breakfast buffet, we decided to give it a try. Word on the street is that the best time to come is just before the breakfast and lunch transition, that way you can enjoy both meals for one price. I started out at the made-to-order omelete station. When I reached the front of the line, I realized that the setup was highly unsanitary. For example, the pop-up kitchen table was covered with grease and a collection of ingredient spills. After each omelete was prepared, the server had made no effort to clean the pan and just proceeded to make the next batch. Four omelette toppings were available — ham, bacon, mushrooms, and bell pepper. I am not a fan of bacon and the mushrooms appeared to have been cooked and contaminated with raw onions, so I just requested ham and bell peppers. The lady flipped over a plate laying on the greasy table(disgusting) and plopped the sloppy omelete on top, which had already been deconstructed before I could eat it. The overall taste was forgettable, even worse than what is found at American diners. Moving on, I filled my next plate with two shredded beef tacos. HTB provides hard shell and soft tacos. The hard tacos reminded me of Taco Bell, while the flour tortillas were sticky and lukewarm. HTB’s beef was heavily drenched in oil but still relatively tasteless. Even worse were the Mexican rice and lumpy refried beans which had absolutely zero flavor. Right around this time, the breakfast trays were swapped with lunch items. I piled up on a new batch of mixed vegetables and grilled chicken. I went with the safe option of lightly boiled corn and carrots, which reminded me of food from college dining halls and hospital cafeterias. I also scooped some green beans cooked with chopped garlic; this combination was surprisingly flavorful. I was disappointed with the chicken breast though, which was extremely dry and overcooked. Overall, this plate was manageable. Since most of the cooked food had failed so far, I moved to the salad bar area, which tends to be a solid choice in American buffets. There, I scooped the worst bowl of chicken noodle soup I ever had at a restaurant, one sip was all I could handle. It was extremely salty, similar to the canned products from American supermarkets, but with additional dosage of salt. On the other hand, the salad bar was actually respectable, since the leafy greens and raw ingredients were relatively fresh. I would not mind going back to refill on salad. For dessert, I tried a mini Cinnabon from HTB’s exclusive custom station. I think that Cinnabons are best enjoyed when rolled from scratch and then eaten shortly after it is heated in an oven. At HTB, the rolls were served lukewarm with an undesirably hard texture, as if the dough were stored frozen and reheated over and over again. Although most of the food at HTB(especially the meat options) was not very appetizing, and none of the dishes were more elegantly prepared than college dorm cafeteria food, I couldn’t complain too much when the damage was only $ 4.99. I didn’t hate the experience, but I doubt that I would return more than once per year since I don’t crave this type of food often.

Zero stars if possible. I don’t understand how people can come here. Reevaluate your life if you like this place…

Great Experience here! Jesus a.k.a. Jesse assisted my girlfriend and I with a warm and friendly smile. He went above and beyond to have the cooks make us breaded fish for Lent. Baked fish was available but we asked him about the breaded and he went out of his way to get it for us and brought it to our table! Who does that at a buffet?! The food has gotten much tastier, plentiful and there is more variety. The dessert bar now includes Cinnabon! The Chicken Pot Pie is served for dinner and it is by far one of the best I have ever had… so surprised! Better than Marie Calendars. In the past I thought this restaurant might shut down as it was becoming a ghost town. They have definitely made some much needed improvement and it shows. By the way, we brought our own water bottles and used our $ 5.99 lunch coupon, you cannot beat that! Definitely recommend.

My girlfriend and I came here on a Friday night and we were surprised to see that the place was almost at 100% capacity. What the heck! Hometown is never this packed. ‘What’s going on?!’ we said in our heads while looking for a place to sit. That’s when we noticed a new Cinnabon bar and carving station. A freakin Cinnabon bar! For some reason I found this very amusing as I never expected to see a Cinnabon inside a Hometown Buffet. Anyways, the servers provided excellent service and the food was relatively fresh and tasty. Who would have thought Hometown of all places would exceed expectations? I had a good time here(probably ate a bit too much though.) Also, I have to mention that the chicken pot pie — special of the night, was super tasty. I haven’t tried too many pot pies, but it was actually one of the better ones I’ve ever tasted.

My parents wanted to give this place a try again after a supposed renovation because when they think of «American» food they automatically think of HomeTown Buffet. So we came here on a Tuesday night at 6pm to find the place rather empty — about 20% of the seats were taken and there was no line at all. An adult goes for $ 12.19 for dinner, and a child goes for half of that unless you come on Thursdays, when the price for kids becomes $ 1.99. I really couldn’t tell what the renovations were, except for a new carving station in the middle of the restaurant that was never manned by anyone. If you wanted cuts of roast beef, sausage, or ham you had to call the manager over to help get you some meat. The meats were all pretty dry and I felt they had sat outside for way too long. Another thing which was new were these small prepared«meals» in these silver bowls, such as chili with sirloin beef, steak with mashed potatoes, and pot roast with veggies. The meats tasted dry once again, the chili was way too salty, but the mashed potatoes and veggies were decent. Everything else is essentially the same, meaning they had a salad station, some fruits, fried chicken, pasta, green beans, corn, meatloaf, potatoes, mac and cheese, and whatever other American food you can think of. They also had a taco station, desert station, and two soups. Nothing tasted exceptionally great; rather, a lot of the stuff tasted either canned or as if it was prepared in a factory and warmed up in the kitchen. Only thing worth noting is their baked chicken, which was juicy and piping hot unlike the rest of their food. Overall compared to their quality a decade ago the current HomeTown Buffet is just a sad business. They used to have rib nights on Saturdays, which while greasy, tasted pretty good. So if there is any hope at all in their food being any decent it’d be on the weekends, because their weekday foods just are no bueno. They used to have a homely feel, now all you see are these advertisement style food pictures on the walls that just gives the whole place a disgusting feeling of commercialization for max profit rather than a warm welcoming vibe.

Giving this establishment a one star: From walking in the door to the rude greetings and they wanted an extra $ 2.49 for a beverage on top of the $ 8.19 I saw no value. 1. Could not find teaspoons any where. 2. There was nothing fresh 3. The fried chicken was hard, no drum sticks 4. Nothing looked good 5. Plastic plated for hot food? 6. No family value I would not recommend this place to anyone or a family you can get more value for your money at KFC with there $ 5.45 value meal. It includes 2 pieces of grilled, crispy or original chicken, one side of mashed potatoes, gravy, coleslaw, green beans or mac-cheese, chocolate chip cookie, a beverage all for one price. As i write this review I hope corporate is listening!

Came here not expecting much… And because I didn’t expect much, I think it wasn’t so bad. Thursdays kids are $.99 I believe. Came with a couple of friends and their kids. The kids loved it. Pizza, chicken, mac n’ cheese and desserts. I personally enjoyed the salad bar. I put some chicken on it and made it a chicken salad :) Overall, I will be back if i absolutely must but not if i don’t have to LOL
