The Barkery

I have been there a few times for a self serve dog wash and everytime I go it gets worse and worse. I only go back because its the closest around… The owner is rude and not open to suggestions (and far from friendly). I understand it is a pet store but the amount of dog hair is gross. I pay $ 20 for a dog wash at barkery for watered down soap (seriously its not soapy or sudsy at all), and «room temperature» air for the drying process. My dog is shivering!!! They dont provide a selection of brushes, the collars to go around your dog during washing are fabric so obviously they get wet and your dogs neck is wet and cant be dried. The ropes are too tight for larger dogs. I have been to several other locations which are cheaper, cleaner, offer more soap, warmer air, cleaner towels (I forgot to mention the «clean» towels are still covered in hair), and the ties in the tubs are more practical to all sizes for dogs. Like I said I only go there because it is the closest but maybe Ill start driving further away. And when I spoke to the owner about suggestions she was rude and responded with «if it makes you feel better I will look into it»… walked away and closed the door. No customer service. No excitement from staff to see your dog. Ugh, my list goes on and on.

Hate cutting your dog’s nails? Then this is the place to go whether you are having your dog groomed or doing a self-​wash. My vet was so impressed she asked me where I had my dog groomed. The groomers try to do what I ask, which changes all the time. Be prepared to pick up your dog in an hour (happy that they were not in a cage). I have used the self-​wash with my other dog and love the fact that I don’t mess up my bathroom, they have a no heat dryer that works great, and you can pay a little extra to get the nails trimmed. They have the most unique treats that you smell cooking all the time. I have purchased treats for friends with dogs and always get rave reviews.

This place is the worst for grooming… I’m not sure where they get their groomers, but I have had two incidents of my dogs leaving there injured and bleeding. When you call to complain, they defend their groomer with no compassion for your pet. You can’t even get the owner on the phone, that shows you how much she cares! Kristie is her name, try to get her on the phone, very unprofessional !
They should stick with their baking dog cakes and cookies (is this even really a good idea for your pet?)
I worry about all the dogs that are being traumatized instead of pampered like they deserve. Read the reviews, I’m not the only one who has had a bad experience with the Barkery.
The groomer Kelsey is one of the worst!!!

I made the mistake of giving them one more try… I got Kelsey for a groomer. He has the worst choppy haircut, a bald spot on his chest and eye crusty booger embedded on his cheek which tells me that she didn’t even bathe him. I called and complained so that they can at least know what they have working for them, I didn’t even care about a refund, I just want to let the know. The later the same my husband is sitting with the dog and discovers a large abrasion with dried blood under his arm. No it makes sense why he didn’t want to go for a walk this morning! We entrust our pets, our family, with these people for a simple bath and a haircut and he has been so traumatized. They need to stop grooming or get real groomers!

This place is one of the most unprofessional places I’ve ever been to! Every time my dog goes in there’s something wrong! Nothing serious until this last time.
The groomer made my dogs fur so uneven, he has bald spots!!! He also has a couple of cuts, he can’t even use his harness!!!
If you’re considering going here PLEASE don’t get your dog groomed by Kelsey!!!

I’ve been going to the Barkery since they opened their doors, before they moved to their current location. My dogs love every treat I’ve ever brought home from there. They sell the best commercial dog food out there. I’ve brought two of my dogs there for a nail trim. I’ve never had anything but positive experiences. The owner knows her stuff, LOVES dogs, and is a very dedicated business owner. Highly recommend!

I stopped in one day after adopting a pup expecting to just bop in and grab some fancy treats. What I discovered was a large shop with grooming, food, rawhide and treats. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful and my puppy enjoyed a few free samples while I shopped. This place is great!

This place is very unprofessional. I’ve only been there a few times, hoping I would find a reason to continue shopping there. But I witnessed some things that I will never forget. I’m pretty sure the owner is Kristi, and when I walked in I overheard her yelling at an employee, calling them names and threatening to fire them. Right in front of everyone. And she left the poor girl to take care of a store full of customers while she went into the kitchen to bad mouth her to another employee! So rude! Everything is overpriced because she just buys it from other stores and then tries to pass it off as original at double the price. The place itself is disgusting. Do you ever clean? Someone get the health inspector in there. Mold growing in the tubs, the windows are so fogged from being so caked with crap. No I don’t feel comfortable leaving my dog in a disgusting place that’s owned by a rude slob. They charged my friend 78 $ to groom her golden, and the dog didn’t even get a bath because they overbooked the groomer! But my friend didn’t get a discount and Kristi said if she didn’t like it don’t come back. Well you can bet we both won’t ever be back, and we will share our stories with everyone.

I’m new to the area so when I googled dog grooming the barkery came up. I took my dog there to get groomed. An hour later while I was grocery shopping they called me to tell me she was done. I politely asked if she could stay there for a bit because I was in the middle of doing an errand. The woman on the phone said it was ok, but it wasn’t. Not even a half an hour later I get another call from the woman very rudely saying my dog is waiting to be picked up. Low and behold I got there as soon as possible payed almost 50 dollars to have my still look dirty. She didn’t smell like she was just washed, her ears are still dirty and her nails are still long. I will not be brining my dog back there!

Amanda was great! We are new to town and she groomed our Cockapoo. She did an excellent job and we will certainly return!

Both of my dogs LOVE all the treats and especially their birthday cakes when that time comes around! The owner is wonderful and knowledgable. Never mind that she is always there and remembers me every time I go in!
The grooming is great and my 90 lb golden retriever loves Amanda! Great place!

This has to be the most unprofessional place I have ever gone to, considering I have my own business the way they treated me I could not believe that they would tell me someone else business that was so not even true the owner does not care about her staff or customers all she cares about is the money I will never ever take my dog here again and I will make sure I tell everyone to never go here worst place to do business!!!

The woman at the front desk was very sweet and gave a great deal of attention to each customer. Her treats for doggies looked amazing. My kids kept asking to eat them! I’ll most likely be going back to get my dog her food here next time too especially the birthday cake!

I had ordered a cake here for my dog’s birthday. I had came into the store to order it to make sure there were no mistakes and no surprise all it had were mistakes. I asked for the blue yogurt and got pink, the name was spelt incorrectly and it was completely sloppy. The yogurt wasn’t even and I think my three year old could’ve done better. Of course when spending the amount I did for an overpriced cake I feel like it should be in the best condition possible atleast. I deliberately went in to order so that there was no mistakes and even double checked the order slip to confirm everything was correct after. I was disappointed of course and when asked to speak to the owner I was denied every time I called and was told that she was never available. How do you manage your own place if you’re never there? It took two weeks for her to get back to me. I got no apology and instead a nasty attitude from Kristy when asking for a refund. I tried to be reasonable and even asked if I could just get a correct cake and she insisted I pay for it. She was rude, and seemed to care less about the business I was bringing her. I’ve recommended everyone I know to stop going here and they’ve all had their own bad experiences. The owner is unprofessional, not genuine and shows no desire to keep a customer happy. The customer service here is horrendous. The owner should probably look into getting some proper manners because it’s clear she has no interest in having a successful business. Clearly bitter and miserable. Stay clear of this place!

The owner is absolutely terrible… She obviously has no concept of customer service. I ordered a cheeseburger cake and when I got home and cut into it, I realized it was not what I had ordered (looked like possibly peanut butter). I took the cake right back and spoke to Kristi and received attitude right off the bat… I just wanted what I had ordered. She told me that it wasn’t her problem and I can buy another one if I want that flavor. I couldn’t believe the way I was being treated. This was my puppy’s first birthday and I wanted it to be a special day all about her, but this woman made it a nightmare. Terrible service, terrible attitude, and no accountability.

A good friend of mine brought her dog who as we know as animal lovers is like a child. The dog got dropped off to be groomed and when she picked her up the dog was not the same dog who was dropped off. The poor dog had been completely butchered!!! She has cuts on her face and is in pain. A vet now has to be seen as soon as possibly due to the fact they cut to close to her face. To make matters worse instead of apologizing immensely, the owner Kristie instead was completely rude and nasty. I just cannot get over this as I wanted to bring my dog this weekend myself to get him a birthday cake.

I would never go here… ever. In my opinion, they have poor morals. Not only that, but in one other posters review, they wanted him to pay $ 150 because his dog peed in or on their cage while in THEIR care??? Are you even kidding me???

Customer service is everything & this place lacks it. Period.

My dog loves this place. They are very careful with him because he is just a puppy and still a bit scared of the clippers. Knowing that they may not make it around his whole body, they are very good about making sure the cut is even all the way around and he leaves fresh and clean and happy.
The selection of dog treats is amazing as well! I havent bought anything yet that my dog doesnt devour immediately.

Great for Treats and Self-​Wash, HORRIBLE FOR GROOMING.
We have brought our dog there three times over the last two years for grooming because we were in a pinch time-​wise and our regular groomer was unavailable.
Although we will be back for self-​wash, treats and birthday cakes, we will not be back for grooming. 2 of the 3 times they didn’t follow our request and hacked him, with the last time, the groomer (Tootie or something like that) COMPLETELY DISREGARDED WHAT WE TOLD HER WE WANTED DONE (ONLY a wash, brush, nails trimmed, ears, and a little trim around the bum-​hole. No other trimming. Instead she gave him a serious haircut, trimmed the hair on his legs very short (it’s supposed to be long), and cropped his underside very short to the point that the stubble was irritating. Because of that, our dog ended up having hot spots on his unders, to which we had to spray with an Rx for 3 weeks while the hair grew back.

Horrible customer service. The mother is nice but I will never give these people one penny more of my business.
It seems like the owner forgot that customers build a business and should make more of an effort to care about the people walking in the door.
I now drive 20 miles out of my way to get my dog her treats from a company with better morals.
