Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

So, I first must say I normally enjoy Cracker Barell especially breakfast. That being said, this place was pretty much disgusting. Greeted by the hostess, she then sat us at a table that was cleaning top, but all surrounding tables were not cleaned full of dishes and food. With that there was so much food under the table that she was trying to sit us at I asked her for another table. Hello? Next table attempted., same problem! Really! When you bus a table that includes the floor!!! Finally got a table in a room that only one other person was seated. Greeted by our waitress, whom I must say was super attentive and sweet!!, I wish I could remember her name! We order. She tells us we are out of ketchup. Really! Ok… We place our order. A few minutes she comes back to tell me they are out of mashed potatoes. My daughter had to send back her Mac n cheese because it was not hot. Ok… we eat and leave…
This place needs a lesson in bussing and cleanliness. Of by the the bathrooms were gross too! Again cudos to out waitress if she reads this!!! I hope you get a better place to work. You deserve it!!!

Been here probably 4 times within the past week for the new mushroom pot roast! It’s so so good. Totally try it. Delicious.
Side salad is also a good choice. Each time the salad has been fresh. Try the mash potatoes too.

Love eating here usually but today we got seated and waited over 10 minutes with no acknowledgement at all… waiter brought food to the table right behind us a nd just walked by us…

Food is mediocre and service is the same. These places are typically a little better than this location. I would continue down the interstate and find a better spot to eat.

I have always thought of cracker barrel as good consistent food. Not great but consistently good.
The one in Texarkana was like this but over the last couple of years it has gotten quite poor. The service and store were good, but the food was not really edible.
Wife’s food was way over cooked, vegetables were all mushy and bland. My hamburger was ordered medium but still came out as a burnt hockey puck. Fries were warm but undercooked.
Overall typical cracker barrel, but this one consistently can not prepare food.

Service was terrible. Food not fresh. Rolled fresh out of deep freeze. Wait was insane. Highly disappointed. No better than a nursing home food.

Let me just say that this is a review I should have done a while back and I have not been back to this establishment to see if things have gotten better.
To start, I was outvoted in the car and was urged to finally give Cracker Barrel a chance. Honestly, I never wanted to eat at their restaurants due to their documented history discrimination of the LGBT and African-​American communities, but I was asked to put my Riot Grrrl gear to the side for the sake of lunch because I may really like it. Of course my family won out. I can’t say no to them, plus I was not paying.
So, we go in and the staff is nice enough, but the service was terribly slow and the food was beyond mediocre. One thing I always suspected is that the food must be really delicious despite the controversies, but those Chicken and Dumplings was the biggest shock of my life. It reminded me of canned food and I’ve never had chicken and dumplings out of the can. It was just so WRONG. I was so offended. To make matters worse, the food was tepid at best. I tried to send my food back, but our poor waitress was no where to be found and as a former server, I understand about off days. She apologized and I told her to not worry about it. I tried a bite from everyone’s plate to see if it was just a bum order choice on my part and I found everything to be very bland and just no. I think I’d have a better go at The Dixie House or Black-​eyed Pea, and that’s a shame.
I went over to the store to see to see what all the hoopla was, and while I appreciate that they carry Lodge kitchenware, I found everything to be tacky and overpriced. At the end of the day, I just do not think I’m their stores’ core demographic and that is ok. What is NOT okay is messing up some Chicken and Dumplings. Making a good batch from scratch is not rocket science. I knew how by the time I was 19. Thankfully, I was able to get to my Aunt’s house outside Paris on the way back up to Dallas and she actually had made some for dinner. Her’s was sublime and helped wash away the memory of blech. From what I hear, their breakfast menu is the star, but I can’t see myself ever bothering again to see if it is true. I think I’ll just stick with the family kitchens.

Great service and one of the best chicken BLT’s I’ve ever had. The food was fresh & hot.

I’ve had better experiences here than the other reviews are saying. Probably my 20^th visit to this location that I’ve enjoyed. Hey nothing is perfect, the wait can get lengthy at times, but the food is quality. It’s clean and friendly. Good spot in Texarkana for breakfast in my book.

Had a late breakfast there a couple months ago, and probably won’t go back. Bacon was half cooked, scrambled eggs looked like McDonald’s, coffee was old and waitress never came back to refill our coffee cups!

This place has really gone downhill. Food was GROSS! Biscuits were sour, grits were lumpy and tasted of chemicals and the gravy was just blah! I waited to complain until after we’d paid our bill, though. Didn’t want anyone thinking I was after a free meal. I have always been fond of CB, but I think this experience has ruined it for all the rest around the country.

Ice cold eggs! No excuse for that. Will not be back.

Service is great. The fried chicken average. The dumplings I loved — mom thought they were a bit thin.

Nothing beats the Southwestern Scramble with salsa for breakfast. You can only get it in texas! You won’t need lunch! My favorite waitresses are Jolly, Lauren, and Dawn.

The boyfriend and I stopped in here for a late breakfast on our way home from Dallas, and it was just what the doctor ordered. We were seated promptly, the waitress was friendly, our food came out quickly, and it was delicious. Requests for items like more creamer or hot sauce were met with a smile and «Of course!» from our server — you don’t get that in Memphis! We’ll definitely be stopping in on our next trip through.

Food is about the same as all the others and the service is ok but the wait for food was long.
I eat at Cracker Barrels all over the country and this one is the worst I have ever been to. The food was ok, nothing exceptional and the service was not bad but the wait on the food was very long for a Cracker Barrel.
I wouldn’t have posted on here but saw another bad review relating to the same problems I had so I guess it is an all the time thing.

Food is delicious, server was friendly but she downsized my order because she thought I didn’t seem that hungry… Really?!

Food is good. Servers are usually rude. Not sure what the deal is. Everyone acts like they hate working here.
