Got lunch at the drive thru. I thought it was good. Meat was tender and juicy and tasty. Had a 3 meat plate chicken, ham and ribs. Got coleslaw and mac ‘n cheese. Wondered about the coleslaw because it’s not normal coleslaw looking, but it was good. I don’t normally eat the BBQ sauce but I tried some and thought it was good, not too spicy and the right consistency. I would go back. Thought it was better than Dickeys. But Hard 8 is coming soon…

First time patron and was curious. I ordered the Hot Link and Brisket sandwich to go. The preparer was polite and informative of the choices. I was considerably surprised of the taste and texture of the Hot Links compared to a certain BBQ Joint in McKinney… The Brisket was moist and tender but the only draw back was the slight smokey taste,(You can’t please everyone) but still flavorful. The Cashier was very polite. I will be going back with my wife for a second visit. Kudo’s to the initial visit. This area needs a consistant BBQ Joint with quality fare.

I’m giving 4 stars because the bbq was better then regular bbq but nothing really stands out except the service and the people there. The people there are helpful and really nice. Great service.

You have failed me, fellow Unilocalers. This place has quite possible the worst BBQ I’ve ever had in my entire life. Upon walking through the doors, there is a hot pink sign that has a giant«C» on it. What is this sign you ask? Why it’s the health department’s health grade of them. They received a 74%. Once you get past that, you order your meat with the butcher and then get your own sides. I was originally going to get the ribs, but upon seeing them I went with brisket. The ribs were tiny, dry, and virtually meatless. Everything there sits under a heat lamp, yet the food isn’t all that hot. I ordered the brisket and sausage plate with peach cobbler and Mac and cheese as sides. The brisket was incredibly dry. The BBQ sauce is decent, but very thin. The Mac and cheese had no taste, but had a ton of liquid in it. The sausage was decent. A little bit of spice and very greasy. The peach cobbler was actually pretty good. That was pretty much the highlight of the meal. My wife got the brisket with beans and green beans. She described the beans as «tasting like dirt». The green beans were similar to what you’d get at elementary school. Random tidbits: –You get free soft serve ice cream. The machine sounded like it was about to explode. I opted not to get any. –Every Tuesday their special is buy one get one free pull pork sandwich, which is actually a good deal. –There was some form of liquid dripping behind the kitchen door. It created a big puddle so it had obviously been dropping for quite some time. Why I still ate here is really beyond me.

Love their pulled pork and smoked brisket. jalapeño beans are so good and spicy. Fried okra was better than my grandmas! Some of the best bbq around! We will continue ordering from here and supporting local business.

Doesn’t hold a candle to Hutchins which is 5 miles down the road. Very disappointed in the 4.5 star rating that brought me here. It wasn’t bad, just wasn’t as good as I expected.

Been a few times and this was our best experience. We got our order to go. I got the sliced brisket sandwich and hubby got pulled pork sandwich. both were delicious and they were generous with the meat. Brisket was very good, tender and moist. Pulled pork was good also. The amazing thing was the fried okra. I don’t usually order it to go because it looses that fresh fried crunch but this was still delicious when we got home. I didn’t care for the potato salad, too sweet but hubby said they also had a dill potato salad. I’ll try that next time. The sliced onions were nice and sweet. If you like sweet and hot BBQ sauce, try theirs. It’s very good.

10⁄23: Now I have been 5 times. I always get brisket. Nice char. I like their style of cooking. Block cutter is great! Staff is great. Previous Review: My second visit. This place is seriously badass. Pulled pork on first visit. It was great. So I came here late tonight. I am suspicious of beef as it is an art to cook. I can cook anything on earth… literally. Oxtail, snake, even had iguana in the Andes. However, I can’t cook a damn brisket to save my life. So I asked to see the moist(aka fatty) beef. As soon as I saw it I knew it was the real deal. Didn’t need to sample it but the block cutter snagged a piece for me. Frikkin amazing. The peach cobbler is insanity and done like a Texan should respect. Met one of the owners, Manuel, and shook his hand. Try this place out. It’s real BBQ at an amazing price. My new love! Brothers BBQ = yummy!

Was hungry for some BBQ, then got reminded of this place on FM423 in the Colony. I entered the restaurant with Ribs in mind but then suddenly saw a sign of all you can eat catfish. Instant appetite for Catfish won over Ribs. :) so ordered them. Its made to order so I know it will be piping hot. Picked couple of sides while my catfish is bathing in hot oil. The sides tasted good. Finally my Catfish arrived after few mins and there were around 5 – 6 decent size pieces and they tasted crunchy on outside and soft like a butter inside… I thought I would enjoi one round of catfish helping. but man… I could barely finish them all. So Catfish won again. Will come back to check the meats next time.

I love love love this place. I can’t tell you how much I hate driving to The Colony, but whenever I’m craving bbq, this is where we head. It’s really good, has a great selection, and the prices are amazing! Why aren’t you already eating? Go there now!

Wonderful BBQ, my brother had told me they had all you can eat so one night my husband and I decided to try it. The sides are very good as well. We ordered our first plates and were sitting down eating. I had told the guy serving our meat that I really love smoked turkey. That was not even offered on the all you can eat that I saw, all the sudden the cashier came over with a giant plate of more BBQ, then she came back again with the tower of turkey in my picture. It all tasted very good, but we couldn’t eat it all. The sweet sauce is really good. My only thought was that the sauce could be a little thicker, but that is preference. Not all people like it that way, but the flavor was spot on. For the price the food was really good. Oh and the soda was the one that had lots of syrup and really good too. Some places have it mostly soda water and it taste bad, but this was great. Also they had their grade from the health department posted which shows honesty to me. They are not trying to hide anything. The green beans are awesome with little pieces of ham. Yum! Check out my pics I added.

Drove along Main to find something to eat, stumbled on this joint. I went through the drive thru and asked about the Master Sandwich. I got half brisket, half pulled pork, okra and green beans. Let me tell you something, those green beans didn’t last thirty seconds, and they gave me a giant bundle of fried okra which disappeared on the way home. Now to the sandwich… The meat was so tender, yum! It all melted in my mouth, I couldn’t stop myself from obliterating its finite existence. I am completely full and satisfied, will be taking my carnivore buddies here for sure.

Only ate here once, and probably not again. The meat was alright, but everything else was pretty bland and needed a lot of condiments to get it down. The staff was pretty friendly.

I tried this for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. I had the 2 meat plate, ribs and brisket. I had some BBQ beans and Brocolli salad and a drink. My total was $ 13 and some change. The meat portions were smaller than I expected for the price. With the sides and a roll, I got plenty full, though. The meat was pretty good — the ribs were slightly above average. The BBQ sauce was really good. It was the sweeter sauce — not the vinegar style. The veggies are self serve, and they also have ice cream and cobblers for desert include in the price. With all the BBQ restaurants around, it’s rough competition. My top pick is always Lockharts in Plano and Ten50 in Richardson. If you need to stay closer to home, Hutchins that took over the old Randy White’s is incredible. However, if you live closer to The Colony, this will work. It’s not exceptional BBQ, but it’s not bad either — just middle of the road.

We headed to Texan Brothers based on other Unilocal reviews. We have lived in Texas for 9 months and we were in search of good bbq and casual dining. What I’m finding in my search for bbq in Texas so far is «Dickeys» style of cafeteria style service. What that means is simply«a bunch of average food at a cheap price». Am I full? «Yes». Would I go out of my way to back? «No» We were greeted by a very friendly staff but there is nothing at all that stands out about this meal to make it memorable. There is absolutely no ambiance If you have $ 10 and you want a full meal, this is the place to go. If you are looking for individuality, personality, ambiance and good bbq… keep looking.

Between the three of us, we tried the turkey, brisket, ribs and sausage. The turkey and sausage were very good. The brisket was good, the ribs were average. For sides, we tried the macaroni(decent), the mustard potato salad(good), the coleslaw(good) and the baked potato casserole(eh). Fresh rolls were good. Free pickles /condiments, and free ice cream. The guys behind the counter seemed to genuinely care about what they were doing. Restaurant and bathrooms were clean. We will be back.

I came here with my wife and two sons for dinner. We love BBQ, but don’t put up with mediocre food. Here’s my highlights: Because my wife and I both got a dinner plate, our boys’ plates were for free(they ordered from the kids menu). When I asked about how the ribs tasted, I was given a full rib to try for free. Our meals tasted awesome and the pricing is spot on! We tried all three types of beans. While the jalapeño beans were too spicy, they all still tasted great. All together we tried the sausage, spicy sausage, ribs, brisket and chopped beef sandwich. The rolls are some of the best dinner rolls I’ve ever tasted! When we wee done, they had free vanilla ice cream for us. I’m very impressed with this place!

My wife and I have been waiting to try this place once it was opened. We were not disappointed. I had a half chicken and ribs. She had some brisket. Everything was moist and had good smoke flavor. The jalapeño beans were a little spicy for her. The baked beans were sweet and tasty. I liked both the regular and spicy bbq sauces. It’s nice to have another option here in The Colony. We will definitely go again!
