Great food! They make their own hot sauce, but you have to ask for it. I highly recommend it.

I came here for Happy Hour at 5:15 on a Monday to secure a table for a group of 4. The HH area was completely full and although the patio had seating, there were people smoking there so I gave up on HH. Turns out they have an «early dinner» menu where everything is half off. Perfect! Our waiter was excellent, we had two ladies arrive a few minutes after the cut off for the early dinner menu and he still took their orders for half off. I ordered the fish tacos and they were delish! Lots of fish, it was a huge amount of food for one person(and at half off). Margarita was awesome. Also because we were in the restaurant it was much more conducive to having a conversation with my friends. We hung out for 3 hours and had a great time catching up. Recommended!

We love this place. The prices are very reasonable and the food is very good. The happy hour here is a great one to come to with a group of friends. The Sunday brunch is great for the price and the staff is friendly and fun. Great for kids as long as you don’t sit in the bar area with them(not a place for kids).

I had all but given up on this place, it’s a wonderful quick stop and they are so generous with their happy hour. Unfortunately it got to the point where it would take 45 minutes to an hour for the food to arrive, and we would get ignored by the staff. But today everything is different. The food arrived immediately, the staff was friendly and attentive, the manager is very much on his toes and keeping everyone on their toes. Love the changes! Keep it up!

Good Tex-Mex restaurant and huge portion! I tried Cisco at the Thousand Oaks location yesterday and I had a good experience there. I ordered the South Western shrimp tacos and the dish came with three large tacos, rice and steamed vegetables. The tacos tasted good and the shrimps were cooked to perfection. The dish was so big that I would recommend one going when you are really hungry. As for service, it was great and it came with complimentary salsas and chips. I would rate this place as Tex-Mex vs. a true Mexican as the salsas was a little blend and dish was mild. The restaurant had great atmosphere and offered lots of privacy with private booths. The prices are decent and my entrée costs $ 17. Most of the other entrees cost about $ 15-$ 20.

Last night’s visit almost earned five stars. We had a gift certificate from two years ago burning a hole in our pockets. LOL. Finally decided to use it. Seated promptly. Drink order taken quickly. We were asked for our food order in short time frame, too. I had a question about the menu, but our server was in a bit of a hurry, so he just wrote down the first item I mentioned and didn’t answer the question. Not a big deal. We observed every staff member hustling around the restaurant. They don’t amble — they move! When the food arrived, I was so impressed with the tilapia on Dear Hubby’s platter of Fajitas Mariscos. It was a beautiful piece of fish, so well-prepared ~ moist and grilled to the point of perfection. But wait, there’s more! I took a bite. And then another. Had to restrain myself from abandoning my dish in favor of that amazing fish! It was the best tasting tilapia I’ve ever had. Ever. My own Enchiladas Del Mar were quite yummy. But the lure of the tilapia.. .so strong! We had plenty of food, and each took more than half of our entrees home. Made for great lunch leftovers today. On future visits, we could readily split an entrée, since they ply you with chips and salsa to start. My virgin mango margarita was also quite tasty and a plentiful portion. The reasons for 4.5 stars instead of 5 were the bland interpretations of black beans and Spanish rice. Each were lacking in flavor. Also, the service, which was snappy at the beginning of the meal, tended to taper off as it progressed. Took quite some time for the waiter to check on us after the meal was served. I could tell he had a lot of tables to handle, and they were getting busy by the time our food came out. Okay, that’s that last of the reviews for tonight. I’ve emptied my purse of receipts from the past six weeks or so and caught up on places we’ve visited and(mostly) enjoyed.

Been sitting in my both for 10 minutes, the restaurant is half empty and no one has even said hello to us. Not worth staying.

Long time patron but first time Sunday brunch. Epic. Plenty of options. Mix your bacon with chili verde! Clean too. The carpets are amazingly clean.

We stopped for lunch here today, even with the constant 3 star reviews, we sat outside. the do have really good chips and salsa and a big bowl of salsa too. I had the Dos Amigos; An enchilada Ranchera and an enchilada Suiza, with both with chicken, and cheese. with sour cream on the side My client had the Cabo Taco Sampler; it has one grilled fish taco, one Sam Adams beer battered, and one tequila lime shrimp taco, topped with cabbage, baja sauce, pico de gallo, and freshly sliced limes. with rice & beans, she ate one before I could shoot a pic of it… grrr The food and the service was good we sat on the far side of the patio and the service was better than I thought it would be, you know out of site of mind kinda thing. this place seemed to have a lot of regulars in the bar which was weird since it was noon on a Monday cool ceiling murals in the entrance. I’m gonna toss out a 4 star here as it was a cool patio with lots of plants and shade relaxing time. I would go back.

I came here for dinner with a group of friends(10). Can’t tell you how frustrating it was to get something going. The waiter did a good job in getting our drinks orders right away, but took him 30 minutes to come back to take our order. Once we ordered the food it took about a good 45 minutes for the food to arrive on top of forgetting a meal. Not to mention the check, we asked for the check and even that took about 20 minutes to get, would have been longer if I haven’t gotten up and grabbed the waiter. The food here is good, but the service was terrible. I wouldn’t mind coming back if they improved their service, I hope they do.

When we first went here, it was great and we kept coming back and back. It’s steadily gone downhill since. Last time we were there, food was bland, and service was Eh. Used to be the place to watch a soccer game or go out with the family. Sad to say those good times are no more.

Good service. Tasty food and good prices if you come for twilight menu. It is not what I would call authentic. It’s comparable to popular franchise Mexican restaurants. Love the chips and salsa. Nice spacious dining room. Patio and bar are very popular with locals.

So I’ve been here a few times to get my Mexican food fix. To me Cisco’s is best suited for patrons looking to enjoy the variety of margaritas. So far my food experiences have be «A-Ok». The best food I’ve had from Cisco’s is the table side guacamole. Chips and salsa are plentiful so it’s easy to get full on just those items alone. Aside from that though I’ve found most of the food decent but not know-my-socks-off good. I’ve tried the combination fajitas and the carne asada. Both dishes smelled fantastic however the taste fell short of my expectations. Flavors were a bit bland and required adding salsa or hot sauce to give it some pizazz. One plus is that the wait staff is friendly and courteous. There’s constant attention from the actual servers to the other helpers patrolling the restaurant. There’s even a live mariachi band that cruises around supply some great atmosphere during our dining experience. So in baseball terms, if you’re looking for a solid single or double then Cisco’s can get you that hit. Just don’t expect any homers(from the food at least).

Wow. That’s the word that comes to mind when I think of my experience at Cisco’s this evening. And it isn’t a good wow either. I bought a «Double Take Offers»($ 15 for $ 30) a few weeks back and headed over tonight for dinner. My family of four arrived at 5:10PM. The hostess was overwhelmed and«had to» take calls before seating people. The front area filled up quickly. When she returned to a full waiting area, she lost track of the order of arrivals and just took who was standing closest to her. After being overlooked three times, my husband stepped up and said we were next. She got all defensive and rattled off a bunch of excuses, not apologetic or professional at all. Next time, just have a sign in sheet available. Simple, clear, and easy. We were seated at 5:25 and when our server arrived I inquired about the twilight specials I had read about on my way in. He said we didn’t have those menus on our table so we couldn’t order one. I said, «it ends at 5:30 and it’s 5:28». So, he said«fine» walked away in a huff & got the menus and then immediately asked«what would you like to order?» Upon his return. I said we needed time to look at the menus, to which he replied, «you only have one minute». Off to a great start. My husband explained the hold up @ the front and he said«fine» and took our drink orders. He hurried back with our drinks and we ordered. We hoped he didn’t spit in my husband’s beer. We all had to order $ 3 tea & lemonades in order to be privy to their special deal. No complaints there, just a note. After our nacho appetizer arrived the waiter said they were out of what my husband ordered, chili relleno. So, he switched to fish tacos. Seems kinda weird to be out of such a staple on a Sunday night at 5:30. Food arrived:(2) fish tacos(1) tostada(1) chicken chimichanga. Fish tacos: 5⁄10. Not bad, not good. Just there. The sauce was kinda heavy. Tostada: 4⁄10: bland. Nothing really remarkable. I’ve made better at home. Chimichanga: 1⁄10. Way to salty and ate one bite and left it alone. The beans & rice tasted overly processed. In fact everything tastes processed and canned. Nachos: 5⁄10. Barely any toppings. Greasy. Chips and salsa: 7⁄10 The waiter came by and asked how the food was when we were ready for the check(20 min into meal). I explained my chimichanga was way to salty to eat, to which he replied, «ok» and walked away to get a to go box my daughter asked for.(Before you get too excited and ask why we’d get a box if we didn’t like it, it was because my daughter wanted to bring the chicken home for our dog). No apology, no question on how he could make it right. Nothing. Just«ok». He couldn’t have cared less. He brought the bill & the box. He charged us for the chili relleno, not fish taco– c.r. Was more expensive. He also deducted $ 24 instead of $ 31 for the 50% off. So, we brought this to his attention, to which he argued, to which the manager came out and argued further. Finally the manager understood and fixed the tab. We decided to pay cash, because honestly we didn’t trust them with our credit card info. And, I almost never use cash, so this says a lot. So, here’s the deal. If you mention a coupon or ask about the specials, expect to be treated sub-class. Expect overly processed food that will bloat you like a blowfish when you’re done. Expect to be argued with, overcharged, and treated pretty crappy overall. And whatever you do, don’t expect them to make your meal right if it’s disgustingly salty or if anything else is wrong with it. They’re clearly comfortable with mediocrity at best and really don’t give a rats azz about your experience. Hey, I have a tip. Quit offering coupons, fire your manager, and use the extra money to hire someone who can get a handle on this place! You can discount all you want, but when you treat people this horribly, and do nothing to even try to rectify it, your business will go down. The only thing I can think of is that they count on a drinking crowd who won’t notice or care how they’re being treated(or what they’re eating) once they’ve had«one too many» margaritas. Our family has never eaten here before and We likely won’t again. Now I’m stuck with a damn Coupon I bought, because I couldn’t use it in the twilight specials, which I totally understand. I made the choice once the waiter informed me of the rules. But now I’m thinking of who I can give it to. Only problem is, I actually like my friends and want to keep them. Sad, because I live within walking distance and this could have been such a sure thing.

I don’t know why Cisco’s has such bad Unilocal reviews. My family had been coming here for years and the food is aways awesome. Okay, the décor needs a little updating. But ignore the fake flowers, busy upholstery and faded murals. We bring all of our out-of-town friends and family here for amazing Mexican food. I’ve never had anything here that I dislike. Everything from the tostada salads to the enchiladas to the chile relleños to the crab-stuffed shrimp fajitas are killer. I miss the chile relleño burrito that used to be on the menu. The margaritas are even better. I like the cadillac variety. But if you like a good blended margarita these guys have you covered in a ton of flavors — strawberry, mango or coconut, anyone?

I love Ciscos. They make really good specialty margaritas and have a really good happy hour. The service here is always good and always prompt. It’s easy to access and they have a fair amount of tvs for any sport you want. Lots of college kids at the bar, but isnt out of control. If you live in the area, worth walking to.
