Got a double chicken avocado salad today, looked good until I started to eat it. Chicken pieces were hard and chewy like yesterdays beef jerky. How could they not see the chicken was too old to use in a salad? Should be ashamed feeding this crap to the public. I called and told them to stop serving old chicken in the salads. Come get a new one they said. Will go get my money back. May report to health dept, F ing gross crap. No Quality control, next Chipolte?

I can’t wait till the Agoura store opens back up. I can’t stand this location. There’s only one female that works the drive thru who’s very sweet but another female(I think Diana, although I could be wrong) was awful. My order was very simple and I didn’t ask for much. I asked for a water cup(didn’t get it) and I asked for extra green salsa. When she handed me my food, not only did she have a HUGE attitude but closed the window and walked away quickly… I still needed my extra salsa and water. After waiting almost a minute, I realized she wasn’t coming back, so I got OUTOFMYCAR and knocked on the window. A male co worker gave me the things I needed. Awful service on her part…

A mediocre el pollo loco. They were rude to me when i asked them to change the soap in the men’s bathroom for a second day in a row(they ignored me the first day). During my request, an ugly woman snarled incredulously to her co-worker in disbelief. JABON?!? Well guess what? Hablo espanol, amiga.

The chicken is always great, the sides… well that where you should leave them, but on this trip I received great customer service from Juan. Great job!

I’m sorry, this was once a great chain, but now they sell under nourished chicken that looks nothing like what is advertised. I had the«20» dollar Mexican cobb salad special… when they asked if I wanted just legs and thighs, I said no… which brought the price up 5 dollars… should have stuff with legs and thighs. The breasts were the size of thighs… the thighs had little meat on them, and the legs were like wings. Just awful. I felt ripped off. Stay clear.

I’ve always been a fan of El Pollo Loco, for fast food its got a fresh tasting feel that you don’t get from other places. I’ve been frequenting the location on Moorpark Rd since I work right down the street. The customer service in the drive thru continues to surprise me. No matter how busy they are, they ALWAYS smile at the window, asking me how my day was and are quick about getting my order. They apologize if I’ve had to wait just a little bit. One time I paid with my card and they forgot to give it back. The cashier was so apologetic and the manager offered to comp my next meal since I had to come all the way back. I appreciated the fact they acknowledged they made a mistake and was willing to make it up to me(not that they needed to). I’ve never had a problem with the food. Its always hot and made to order. Its a great place to pick up something quick when you don’t have a lot of time for lunch. Keep up the great work!

I like these guys… they are always pleasant and the staff is really nice and friendly and their drive thru is really fast. One time they’d been hit by a huge order they weren’t expecting and were so apologetic that I had to wait a teeny bit but it was only an extra minute or two! I like El Pollo Loco’s food but this location goes above and beyond! Also they’ve been really helpful with large party orders I’ve needed… the TOHS Booster club feeds our varsity volleyball boys’ team a meal before each home game and they love El Pollo Loco and they always have it ready for us! Thanks!

Having the shrimp and avocado tostada. As I sit here and eat lunch, all I can notice is how friendly the staff is. They have greeted every single person who has come through the door. My food is delicious. The location is very clean. Overall, I would come back just because the service was great. Friendly staff. It really does make a difference.

Pretty much the only thing I like about El Pollo Loco is their chicken, but I mean the entire piece of chicken, not cut up. I’m not a fan of their side dishes. Yet, I wanted to be a little adventuresome, so instead of getting my traditional chicken pieces(usually 2 thighs), I tried one of their healthier menu items… don’t remember what it was called, but it was essentially a low-cal, low-fat version of their quesadilla. Well, let me tell you, it had no flavor… which was not a coincidence when one is trying to cut down on the more caloric versions. However, what irked me even more than the lack of flavor was that there was like 3 little, and I mean tiny, pieces of chicken… really? How can they do that? There was nothing to eat by way of the chicken. I’m not even really sure what was inside… maybe nothing, hence, no flavor. I simply don’t know.

They refused to substitute beans for mashed potatoes in a bowl even though every other location does it. I even offered to pay extra but the answer was still no. The girl working was super rude about it, so I asked to speak to the manager(I think his name was joe, I could be wrong) and he said he couldn’t do it and didn’t care that the other locations have done that for me.

This is best of the three in the area, in terms of actually getting to and foodwise

I don’t eat fast food, anyways, my family had a get together tonight and got a large order for multiple people. My sister took some extra home with her and she found a live worm, green… about half the size of a fingernail, in the pico de gallo salsa. I can’t comment about the other«food» since I didn’t eat any, but I believe people should know. I called them and the woman who can barely speak English told me the manager will call me back. Never heard back from them.

I normally don’t review large chains like el pollo loco, but just thought id balance out some of the negative reviews. I haven’t had any issues here and the food tastes the same as any other el pollo loco so much as I can tell.

Pretty decent pollo loco. The food is always prepared right. Drive through seems like it takes forever compared to indoor service. Overall though it is a good spot.

I don’t rate fast food very high ever, a three is usually the most I’ll give because the food is never amazing, but today I ordered the under 500 avocado burrito, via drive thru, it wasn’t listed on the description that it came with a huge dallop of sour cream, which I would have told them to exclude because I can’t eat it, so that was a bummer because I couldn’t eat the little side salad. The burrito itself wasn’t bad, it was filling, I only could eat half, so I guess the value is there. The avocado tasted pretty good. Put salsa on it and it tastes better.

Mel. C is exactly correct. I love El Pollo Loco, but for some reason… this location sucks. I work down the street and come here a few times a month. EVERYTIME something is wrong, forgotten, etc. I use the drive through window and everyone working it seems to be a few cards short of a full deck, and I’m not sure why. They’re not rude, but just plain stupid, I guess. Sounds harsh, but I don’t know what else to say at this point. I can see forgetting items(tortillas, salsa, etc.) or messing up an order completely once in a while($#it happens, right?), but every single time? Seriously? What are the odds here? I really like the food and it’s got great bang for the buck, but I guess it’s on ME now to check everything every single time.

I enjoy El Pollo Loco in general. Always have. I’ve been to this location probably a dozen times, and 90% of the time they manage to mess up my order. They either forget a taco, or my side salad or something on the lines of that. I’m an idiot for always coming back here thinking they will get it right, but I only have two locations near my area and this one is more convenient. I guess I should prob drive the extra 2 – 3 miles to go to the other one. And did anyone notice they raised the price to almost $ 3 for a crunchy chicken taco? For that amount of money I can get two bean burritos at Taco Bell and then chuck whatever extra change at the homeless bum down the street as a down payment for his crack habit. If you live in the westlake/thousand oaks area… Drive to Kanan for your El Pollo Loco needs. Their chicken is meatier and chances are they won’t screw up your order.

I will give this a high 4 all because I haven’t had El Pollo Loco because their chicken just doesn’t taste so good where we use to get it. But I said this a different location and the closest from where we were and I guess I’d rather have this than burgers again! The store was okay. A bit dirty on tables and needs to be kept clean faster. But it didn’t feel dingy or anything like that. Wr ordered our three piece chicken and sides of mash and gravy, mac n cheese, and spanish rice. The chicken was very nicely cooked and delicious. I was amazed how crispy the chicken skin was! Wow, it has been a while but this is actually good. All the sides were yummy and it was very satisfying the hunger that lunch day. I wished the El Pollo Loco nearby were like this. This is my first time here and it was a good one. Food was good and employees were nice. It makes me want to try the ones nearby my place but I am also scared to be served old tasting chicken. This experience was definitely a plus from my experiences in other El Pollo Loco.

I didn’t know whether I should give this restaurant one or five stars so I compromised. 5 stars: food was good, delivered in a reasonable amount of time, place was clean, servers were friendly, and I got a good laugh over the reason for the one star. 1 star: I requested a large ice tea. There was NOICE in the ice tea. I took it back and said there was no ice in it. The server said to me, «Oh, you wanted ice?» I don’t know what planet she has been living on where iced tea doesn’t come with ice. :-)
