They were ok not amazing, but just like the rest of the reviews of people that talked about the man yea I would agree he’s not very friendly he has that I don’t want to be here attitude lol

Extremely disappointed. The man behind the counter obviously considered me to be an inconvenience. He was rude and disrespectful, right from the beginning. It was my first time there… and. likely my last. Also, I asked for a cup of water, and was told a bottle of water was a dollar. I asked again… he said one dollar again. I’m done… go elsewhere… for. somewhere that cares, is friendly, helpful, and grateful for customers. My next stop is newbury park’s own spudnuts. I know tjey want me there and theproducts are truly special. I was a fool to try this place. Back to spudnuts on Kimber near 7 – 11, off Wendy. I have always been treated exceptionally well there.

Pretty typical donut shop with bubble tea. The boba wasn’t terrible and the taro slushy was a nice way to spend the 70 degree heat. Pretty small space to navigate if you have more than 5 people the shop but all in all a great little shop.

Dropped off a client at Trader Joes next door, so I thought I’d check out the local stores. I had a custard filled donut, which was delicious ! Next time I’ll try the apple fritter. The owner has been there for over 20 years and loves his products!

Good donuts a little bit pricey and the owner is very rude and rushy he does not have any patience for his customers you should learn how to treat people better so they would like to return and feel more comfortable. My girlfriend was not treated very well and I think it was un fortunate because we live so close and could be customers in the future multiple times and we eat a lot of donuts. I can not recommend this place in good faith.

I really want to like this shop because it’s so close to my house, but it is mediocre at best. The owner works at one speed whether there are 2 or 20 people in line. There donuts are super blah, and the cream filled donut tasted well… kind of moldy inside. I stopped going after the owner’s obviously ill wife was sneezing, blowing nose in the background. Too much of an ick factor for me combined with slow service and a total lack of creativity.

I happened to be reading a thread on Unilocal about where folks could find great donuts. Since we were not that close to any of the places that were suggested we did our on Unilocal search for Donuts near where we were. We chose Fresh Donuts based on the reviews and its close proximity. Even though it was late morning they still had a good selection of donuts. We could not resist ordering the Cinnamon Rolls. We also ordered the«Cigars» and some donut holes along with some small bite sized donuts filled with cream. The bite sized donuts with cream are lovely. They are very tender/soft and just delicious with the cream in them. Donut holes are A-OK. The Cigars are good, they run on the drier side. The Cinnamon rolls are a little disappointing, thie is the second time we have been here and they have an overcooked look. They are very dry and even at the center-which is the best part– are dry and lacking much Cinnamon.

The best and most consistent donuts you can find… been coming here for 15 + years… Weekends they blow out fast, so get there early if you want your favorite(don’t want the kids or yourself in tears). They are ALL good, but the Fritters and the Chocolate glazed are always great!

This place has decent doughnuts. The selection is fine the people are hit and miss here. The lady today was actually friendlier than I remember. The prices here are on the expensive side comparatively for doughnuts. Past that I really just wanted to note the BEST item they sell here. CIGAR $ 1.90(worth it!) Chocolate, Brown Sugar & Cinnamon perfectly blended in this easy pastry style crust… SWEET-SIN If you are in the area or debating to try this place. The Cigar is absolutely worth a visit to Fresh Donuts.

Local donuts place just off Moorpark Blvd in Thousand Oaks. Dozen donuts is $ 10.50 which is a little steep for donuts but convenient and tasty. I bought these to take to a buddies house for the USC v. Notre Dame game as a dessert this last Saturday. This place was clean and the employee here was helpful and friendly. Will return for special occasions again.

A lot of people have recently rated Stans Donuts nearby(on Moorpark Road in the Whole Foods center) higher than Fresh Donuts, but since 2011 when the owners at Stans have changed and they’ve gone way downhill since, I’d say Fresh Donuts are now the best on this side of town, in my opinion. Although we only go for donuts maybe once every 3 months now(as we grow older, we seem to eat less sugar & junk food) my family has been going to Fresh Donuts since we bought our house nearby in 1985. They’ve always had consistent quality and good prices. I’ve never had any problems using my debit card to pay(if/when I buy a dozen or more — something we used to do a lot for parties or meetings). Our personal favorites are the glazed raised(whether vanilla glaze or chocolate), raised twists, and my hubby loves their cinnamon roll donut. My favorite is always their apple fritter. We all love the french cruellers — light & airy. And my daughter loves the sprinkled cake donuts.(we all love the buttermilk glazed too but they can be a lot heavier than the raised donuts, so we eat them in moderation). I’ve never had anyone behind the counter be less than efficient or pleasant in a business-like manner. I’m not there to make friends… just to buy donuts. No one has been outright rude to me, and I’m not the kind of person to stand around & waste time either — I always know exactly what I came in for, so things move pretty quick, which I like. I’ve also tried a few other donut shops nearby… besides Stans on Moorpark, there’s one on Arboles between CVS& Albertsons, but the others never really measure up to the quality of Fresh Donuts. So I think we’ll stick with them.

Went here based on Unilocal reviews to get some crullers but man was it disappointing they were not fresh, they tasted like they were a couple of days old. If they were fresh then they just did not taste good. Either way would not recommend.

Fresh Donuts has been a favorite since childhood. If you’re looking for heart and hard work baked into a round treat, then this is the place to go! Their donuts are tasty, the variety is great, and we have known the family that owns and runs the place for a long time, and they are absolutely wonderful, I’m sorry to hear that others have had bad experiences with their staff, but every experience we have had has been great! Truly a community landmark to those of us who went to elementary/middle school/high school in the area, and will always be! I love their ham & cheese croissants — HUGE, great for breakfast or lunch, and of course everything else they have is yummy too! I know it’s silly but as a child, I’ve always loved their crushed ice. I always get a sprite and a glazed donut to eat right away and then some to take home!

«I see you got the big boy.» Okay, so it wasn’t the way I would have liked this passer-by to have phrased it, but my chocolate chip roll was the size of a small football. I’ve posted a picture of this honkin’ piece of donut, next to my orange juice just to show the sheer donut fortitude, but unfortunately Unilocal doesn’t let me replace pictures so you’re stuck with the unedited version I accidentally uploaded. I don’t know why I thought this would be good. When I had more limited experience with Fresh Donuts, I used to say they’re a little better than the Vienna Bakery’s donuts — now I’ll have to do an exact flip-flop. I’ve had some donuts here ranging from pretty good to just plain bad, which was what the chocolate chip roll was. The muffins are big and better than they look, but still no comparison to the Vienna Bakery, and certainly not Donut Depot. In this case, the chocolate frosting tasted like everybody else’s and the chocolate filling was good — where you could find it, which was in surprisingly little places. This coincided with my previous experiences with Fresh Donuts, which is that the fillings and frostings are fine and my real problem is the dough. In this case, it was like eating a grocery store’s round sandwich roll, only dried out and overcooked to the point of being almost burnt. They have no tables and no bathroom, but two stools with a counter. I usually applaud the counter, but this one is a section of a side too small to be usable. Fortunately, the strip mall itself provides nice benches alongside vertical posts, but then you have no table of any sort. There are an assortment of packaged drinks like Sobe bottles and Coke cans in two coolers, and they have cinnamon rolls that I haven’t tried. The giant chocolate chip rolls aren’t the only huge creations and cost less than $ 2, but there’s no point in getting a lot of bad taste. They take credit cards, but with a $ 10 minimum that makes it pointless. The service varies by person, but is surprisingly bad for a donut store and in this case I found it snippy. They do have good hours, but now that reasonably nearby Stan’s is 24-hour, there’s just no point in going to Fresh Donuts.

This is a review that is based solely in donut quality. Their old fashioned chocolate donuts are the best thing i’ve ever eaten and the apple fritters are way up there too. The people who run the place don’t seem nice at first, but eventually you can develop a relationship where they will warm up. Not that you need to, of course. The last thing i’m worried about when buying a donut is whether or not the person serving it is happy-go-lucky. This place puts the chain donut shops to shame!!!

The only place I’ve ever seen that glazes a donut and then frosts it with chocolate. Take your insulin with you and enjoy, they’re fresh like the name says … and yummy.

They really aren’t very nice, but their donuts, rock my socks, especially their blueberry donuts. They kind of treat you like YOU are bothering them by coming in, and if the kind of donut you want is behind them on a baking sheet but not in display, they won’t consider reaching behind them and giving you a fresh one. You are S.O.L. Think *donut natzi* like the infamous *soup natzi* of Seinfield. «No donut for you!» We frequent this place anytime we play out of PJ’s for APA.
