If you’re young and Asian don’t come here. The waitresses are mainly focused on trying to make the white customer happy. They completely ignored us when we asked for the check. And they always give us he worst table. If you’re old and white, you will get the best service and you will love your life. I have left here many times without leaving a tip.

I have been several times, honestly it seems to be tough finding good Sushi places. Minato does a good job with a decent size menu, In my opinion it seems to be pretty authentic. The only downside or me is the limited bar, beer, wine and Saki. Give Minato a try, I think you will like it.

Minato is fantastic. The quality of the fish is excellent, and the service is great when you need it and unobtrusive when you’re deep in conversation(or reading articles and blogs in solitude). Sure, you may try something that you don’t like, or maybe your chosen item isn’t made exactly to your liking every time you go(which, if you’re like me, is just about every week), but the overall consistency here makes it the kind of place you could take someone who maybe hasn’t tried(or even say they don’t like) sushi and find something even they will enjoy. TL;DR This is one of the good ones.

Having read the rave reviews for this place, we wanted to give it a try. The sushi was okay… nothing spectacular. They did completely forget about our tempura udon order and we had to remind the waiter about it. When it did come out, it reminded me of instant noodles cooked up in a college dorm… bland as can be. We’ll stick to Kanda and Takahasi in Westlake.

This place is busy almost all the time, but worth the wait! We had several specialty rolls and each was delish and we had nigiri which was fresh and at the perfect temperature. We will be back and often! Prices were excellent for the value.

Minato Sushi is great place to eat. They recently made two beautiful sushi platters for a party I planned in Westlake Village. Their sushi was on-time and well-received by all the discerning guests. Cheryl One Fine Party

So we just moved to the area and wanted ramen and sushi. Most small sushi spots were closed, even at 630p lol. This place was open and had great reviews. Everything we ordered was so GOOD!!! We will definitely be visiting again and recommending this place to people we know. The only thing you must keep in mind is the service when really busy. It was great, but since it was SUPER packed it seemed like they were under staff for servers. OVERALL experience was absolutely good.

Located in a strip mall, it’s super easy to find. The place is very casual, and so nice for a sushi restaurant to be open on a Sunday! + Huge menu — the sushi restaurant even offers shabu shabu! They have a huge variety of specialty rolls, bento boxes, noodles, you name it. If you are having a craving of all things Japanese, they have a decent selection. + Their tea mugs are huge which was great. They ultimately left us a teapot since we were drinking so much tea, and it was great. + Prices are pretty reasonable. You could leave full for under $ 30 most likely. Or you can gorge on food like me, and end up feeling food comaed shortly after. The sushi(nigiri) was very standard. We got the tako, saba, and yellowtail belly that were all tasty but nothing mind blowing. We also got their sashimi roll(which was my favorite — all raw fish wrapped in cucumber. Very refreshing) as well as an Alaskan roll(tuna inside with salmon on top). — Service was slightly slow, even though the restaurant was not very crowded. Just be cautious that you may have to wait a bit, but it was fine if you are not in a rush to get somewhere.

Excellent kalbi and bulgogi! Salmon terriyaki also nicely done. Add $ 2 sashimi to lunch special has very good mix plate of fresh salmon, tuna and other sashimi fish even better than sushi. Happy hour has $ 2 five-piece sushi rolls, hot sake, 15% discounted specialty rolls. Crunch roll excellent. Hot night good. Baby lobster passable. Good variety menu to explore more!

Definitely my new go-to sushi spot. ESPECIALLY during Happy Hour. Everyday 3−6pm. Got a whole mix of rolls and the sake flight. I have no clue what Aloha Sake is but it was so so SO good. Service was fantastic. They made sure to check in on me, but not hover which is definitely what I want for a sushi spot.

The food is… deeeelishus. I mean… yeah If you want great, no… amazing Japanese food, go to Minato. They have an incredible menu and make a mean spicy ramen. Wow. Let me tell you… that spicy calamari. Errrmagerrrd! Very hot, temp wise as they bring the sizzling Plat to your table. Hot/spicy/wow if that’s your thing. Garlicky goodness… ohemgee. We had that as an appetizer. My sister ordered us a ST Roll. Wow. Tempura shrimp and avocado and all kinds of yummy in it. Sweet sauce on it. Whoa. Spicy ramen was deeelish. A little starchy today, but you can always bet on that being delicious. Great consistency to the noodles. Great tempura shrimp… yummnnnayyyyyy Service is good and friendly. I don’t advise going there if you’re in a hurry. Sushi bar guys are very friendly and fun. Ordered to go for Hunny: Cajun tuna something. Very good. Also pepper salmon. Wow. Ok. Go. Go now. Sushi on at Minato! Go. Go now.

I just tried Minato Sushi for the first time on Saturday, and I’m really glad I did. This place is amazing… with outstanding high-quality fish and seafood, a huge selection of specialty rolls, and extremely friendly and attentive wait staff. In addition, the restaurant offers a broad range of unique daily specials that I have not seen anywhere else… and sushi bars are beyond plentiful in Ventura County. Halibut carpaccio, anyone? Minato has it… and it was incredible! While Minato Sushi has all of the typical hand and cut rolls, sushi, and sashimi, the restaurant really shines with its selection of specialty rolls… which are visually displayed on a flipcard set-up on each table, and on the HDTV on the wall. They must have over three dozen specialty rolls. I had the T.O. roll… and it was fantastic. Like many sushi places in this area, Minato is not fancy, and it’s perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. The prices are reasonable, too. If you want fabulous sushi with wonderful specials and a huge assortment of specialty rolls, then you need to check out Minato Sushi. I highly recommend it!

Birthday lunch for my BFF! The costumer service was amazing. Places like this stay in business forever. The sashimi was fresh and they have this sake sampler with different flavors like pineapple etc… my friend ordered this and I was on a no alcohol diet at the time so I have water with lemon and green tea. All in all a great experience and I will definitely be sure to stop by again when I’m in the T. O area.

Service is amazing however the rolls were slightly mediocre. I had the jalapeño popper and the SLS, and both were filling by poorly prepared. I sat at the bar and my rolls fell apart instantaneously. The flavor was flat and nothing to rave about but I will definitely come back for the service, first; and of course for the very affordable happy hour menu. Thank you Steve for the roll preparation. It was fast and enjoyable to watch.

I used to come here in high school all the time! I recently came back the other day on a late Sunday night and ordered some sushi, rolls and sake. All of it was amazing except the blue crab roll was just not very good. One of my favorite things here is the Albacore. The prices are very reasonable and it was very relaxed when I came in.
