Silver Star A.G. – Service

Called and made an appointment for service the day prior to arrival. I specifically asked the gentleman if they would provide me with a loaner vehicle for the time my vehicle was to be in the shop for scheduled maintenance. Absolutely was the quote I received back. Prior to hanging up I reiterated my request to have a loaner vehicle as I use my car for business and could not go without a vehicle for the day. Of course I was told.
What happens? Well of course you can figure it out.
Dropped my car off at the scheduled time. I’m sent to the waiting area to await my service tech as he hadn’t quite finished with another client and who should come to see me? Well it’s the friendly counter person who I had spoken to not 24 hours prior. I’m sorry he says to me but we don’t seem to have any loaner vehicles available. He can see the surprise in my face and gives me his best «Droopy Dog» apologetic look. Nice try.
I know it seems like a «first world» problem and perhaps it is. However, when you have a schedule to keep and you make a request… twice…you expect a professional company to make it happen. What you do not expect is to show up and be told after you check in that they cant make it happen but Enterprise rental can be called for you.
I did not wait for Enterprise to «Pick me up».
Customer service at this dealership has been steadily slipping over the years and I have had other problems with this service department in the past.
Guess I need to find a new dealership.

best car service ! I’ve been going there for my car service for 3 years now and every time is a great experience. Greg S., my service adviser, is the best and Wilson in the service department always remembers me & my car. I always get helped quickly no matter how busy they are. Thanks!

Service director Swen Schraml aus Deutschland helped us with one of our cars. Because we were left to wait for a considerable amount of time in the drop-​off line, he comped us with fixing a tire, a car wash and home delivery the next day. He also took time to show us the new electric Merc. Super nice experience and we will be back!

Took my daughter’s Mercedes in to check it out, we didn’t know what was going on with it. They checked it out, told me what the issues were and wouldn’t charge for it as it was a problem with work done previously with a different company and that work was under warranty. I worked with Greg Stryker, he was so helpful and we will never go anywhere else to service our car in the future. They have a customer for life!

Silver Star Mercedes could provide better service for vehicles. Compared to other Mercedes dealerships in the area, the attention to detail suffers at this dealerships’ Service Department. First time diagnosis of a problem didn’t occur for me, and when the vehicle was returned, it was much dirtier than when I left it for service.

Never had one good experience here!!! It would take me forever to list all of my bad experiences here. Wish I didn’t feel that way I just wanted my car serviced & put back in my hands the same way I brought it in. Gave several chances but they unfortunately messed up every time. Hope you guys can Improve & realize your working on Mercedes Benz’s they are NOT cheap so don’t treat them that way when we pay a good amount for them & to have them serviced by you. Good luck…

My fiancée has a Mercedes GLK that has a disgusting dirty foot odor in the air conditioning. She’s gone to them multiple times about this problem, and every time, they’ve told her to replace the cabin air filter and otherwise, everything is hunky-​dory. Do yourself a favor and google «mercedes foot odor».
What’s this? All the forums are jammed with this same problem?
Pretending this isn’t a HUGE problem with Mercedes cars in general is HUGELY dismaying. I would expect this from a Yugo dealership. So, I double checked here on Unilocal,and in fact, this IS a Mercedes dealership. Oh wait, brb…
…Yup, the emblem on our car is NOT a Yugo. It says Mercedes Benz. And not one of those tricky «Mercedez Bens» forgery knock-​offs you pick up from broken-​nosed vendors on NYC sidewalks. It’s the real deal.
So, if you’ve lost your sense of smell, add three stars.

I originally took my car here to look at the braking management system back in ¹⁄₁₃
the part is still covered under warranty and they provided me with a loaner car, 8 months down the road this part failed again i was in the valley and so i got it towed to Mercedes of Encino (biiig mistake) they gave me no loaner car or made no attempt to get me one from enterprise which is what they are supposed to do when they are out of their own loaners. Further more did i mention MY BRAKES FAILED. lets put aside the fact that i could have been killed or even worst have hurt or maimed other people on the road its a big E 500 one of they key components on this vehicle is BRAKES. its not 6739 bc i cant stop the car like they did in the damn Flintstones. they wanted to charge me 183 to look at the car then 577 to bleed the brake lines so i called Mercedes of thousand oaks where Erik sent out their tow truck to pick up the car. but Drew at Encino Mercedes would not release the car to them until i paid him 183. to look at the car for their part that needed to be released. clearly a lawsuit possibility here. lets also keep in mind i have missed may days of work over this and spent on tow trucks and other things as well like life in jeopardy. Erik got me a loaner vehicle and told me updates almost daily via email and phone calls. They fixed everything as they said, unlike the other Mercedes dealer in Encino.
I have many Mercedes vehicles in my family and may mechanic friends.
Erick made what others did wrong and sis so much follow up work for me. EVEN called the other dealership to inform them the part was their responsibility. His friendly smile and overall persona places above and beyond the rest.
Good to know there are some exceptional people still in this notoriously shady biz.

Great sales experience buying my 2013 GLK250 Blue Tech. This is how every car buying transaction should be. I emailed their Internet guy Ryan and he promptly replied to my info requests and right away gave me a great price. I was worried that when I got there, things would not be so easy, but it was — no BS, no up selling unneeded junk, fair price on my trade in. This is the type of transaction that earns customer loyalty.

My 2000 C230 Kompressor was brought into the Silver Star repair shop because the ignition was not turning over to start my car when I put my electronic key in starter slot. Obviously, this was a huge inconvenience for me because I only have one car. However, upon stepping into Silverstar I was struck away by how clean the place was and the professional demeanor that was exemplified by just about every employee.
Greg Stryker was my repair representative who set up me in getting a new key for me because my car would not start. He was very curteous and gave me an honest expectation of potential scenarios and costs, as well as an honest estimate of how long it would take to get my car fixed.
In addition to Greg and the many who took care of me, I was struck away by the empathy and curteousness that was expressed by Mike in the parts department. I initially had to have my car towed from Malibu because it wouldn’t start. This happened two days before thanksgiving, so I was trying to get the issue resolved so I wouldn’t be without a car for the holiday. I had to have the car towed within a certain deadline for the new key to be shipped for my car.
Long story short, Mike was very sympathetic to my circumstance and went out of his way to ensure that the part that was needed would be overnighted. He was indeed able to find a way to get the part I needed shipped next day (before thanksgiving) and thankfully I received my car before the holiday.
I also want to give a special shoutout to the rest of the crew in the service department. When I had my car brought in by AAA I had no way of getting back to my place in Malibu except for using their shuttle service, which only ran at certain times throughout the way.
However, a woman by the name of Nobuo was sympathetic to my situation of wanting to travel out of town to spend time with my family for thanksgiving, so I was able to track down an emergency loaner car ensuring I would have a means of transportation, and boy was I impressed! They gave me a 2012 C250 loaner, free of charge and they told me that even if my car was ready before the holiday weekend ended that I could keep it till the following Monday.
But the most impressive thing is that my car ignition issues were taken care of the next day, at a reasonable price and they even washed my car before returning it.
Any service-​based business needs to take special note of the way I was treated. I was treated consistently by everyone with an impressive amount of respect and politeness that gave off a certain vibe that everyone at Silvestar took pride in what they did and representeted.
The folks at Silver Star did not «have to» provide me a loaner car, not did they «have to» wash my car before returningit, but these little details are what separates a business from being good to being world-​class, and you can be rest-​assured that if I decide to stick with Mercedes as my vehicle of preference next time I lease or buy, I will be going to them.
Thanks to everyone there for making my whole ordeal very smooth and for providing me with encouragement that there are still businesses and employees that act with with the upmost integrity and provides quality service. This is what I always to strive to achieve in my own line of work.

Service department is disorganized. They do not return calls. They leave me extremely frustrated. The only reason I write this review is the hope that Silver Star will read it and decide to improve their service.

My service advisor is Greg Stryker. I’ve kept him thru the years because he looks out for his customer’s best interest. Sure, I can go to another place for «cheaper» repairs, but I like the «concierge» service at MB Silverstar and Greg is easy to work with.
More importantly, MBZ Silverstar’s quality of repairs is superb.
