Well my mother has been living here for over two years now. She needs 24 hour a day care since her stroke. I have had mixed feeling about this place something’s are good and some are off the chart bad. Understaffed is an understatement. This place is a FORPROFIT place this means it is a business first and a nursing home second. They ruffly make $ 7000 a month per resident. But they cut corners at some serious things like REALLYGOODCNA’s and keeping all the good RN’s their. They also need an actual Director for like 6 months they have Some one playing the roll but not the actual title and training. Five Star is the owners they need to have properly trained people to run this place!!! Too cheap to staff it correctly and because of that all the people who directly work with your loved one is WAY over worked!!! On the long term side I believe it’s one CNA for like 12 people? On the short term side I believe it’s one CNA to 8 residents. And if someone goes on a lunch break… Then it goes to 1CNA dealing with 20 people? Can you say«sitting in a pee diaper for over an hour?» Seems like some real good RNs and LVNs left very unhappy. The food look gross as well, the only thing I have seen that looks great is the fruit plate! They have about 5 people that work here that are amazing!!! And a whole bunch that seem like they hate their jobs. They don’t have a permanent DON and this is important because this person keeps all the RN, CNA and LVN in line trained and answering to a higher source at doing their jobs correctly! I do believe the staff here tries to do the best they can I truly believe the major problem is the actual owners. It’s for the most part a clean place the Garden is cute. I buy all my moms shampoos conditioners and soaps and lotions because the crap they supply is horrible and dries my moms sensitive skin. We also do her laundry because«it’s better that way otherwise she may not always get her clothes back!» Huh? Really? YES so do I recommend this place? Well I have heard other places are worse… So yes I would recommend but beware you will need to advocate ALOTFORYOURLOVEDONE! you will need to keep track of things and if something gets stolen(and it will) complain… And the place will reimburse you …

Not a fan. I have nightmares about the care that was given to my mother. They are understaffed, and if this was a day care centre for children, I wouldn’t have put my child or mother in this facility. When my mother started having symptoms, they did not react«medically» the way they should have.

10YEARSLATER, I AMTHANKINGYOUWITH A Unilocal! When I was choosing a SNF for my aged Grandmother, I visited a dozen or more places in the Ventura/LA County area. I believe my grandmother was there for nearly 7 years. As she aged and her health declined, slowly at first… and then quickly worse in the last few months of her life, the entire staff was lovely and supportive at each stage. While anyone looking needs to do their own review and choice, I can’t say enough about my experience as a caregiver… just how wonderful the care was for my Grandmother, how clean the facility is kept, and how patient and loving the support staff was to me. They earned my trust and were there in difficult times. Give them a chance to host your loved one, review their facility, meet a nurse or two, and do your own evaluation. I recommend them highly, and thank them so much!
