Poor Lowe’s of Tigard. One star for the past and 4 for my last two trips, but still depends on the employee that particular day.
One just expects great customer service nowadays… and it should be that way. At this Lowes employees would not even look at you as they passed, let alone ask if you need help. Not a glance, no smile.
One lady employee at the lumber counter could not get of her back end to show me where a particular item was even though it was in front of the counter just 6 feet over… ok, in her defense she yelled at another employee to show me. Heavy sigh.
It is management that needs to work on this issue and they are responsible. Do they not read these reviews? What about corporate? Just a small store in Oregon. Well this small store is usually pretty empty because of the reasons in the review.
Recently, I my experience, customer service has improved. I see smiles now and most ask if I need assistance. Had great service ordering flooring the other day.
One other issue, yes it is a home improvement store and they do not sell groceries, but the carts are just dirty as all get out. No reason they have to be so gross.
Work on it.

I like this Lowe’s and I wish it was more convenient for me. While they both are home improvement stores they and The Home Depot have a lot of different stuff inside.
While I don’t like their entrance once past that it is a good experience. They have a good size parking lot, bright clean store and helpful staff. I always get stopped a few times seeing if I need help.
In season they have a nice garden area, and I also like their décor stuff.
I like that at Lowe’s you never need to wait for fork lifts and aisles are never closed so they can drop merchandise (problems at The Home Depot.) I also like their delivery on appliances better (last time I checked.)
I prefer Home Depot for paint and classes… I guess what I am saying is both stores have their strong points.
In summery I am a fan, I just wish they had more locations,

Worst experience ever today– wood guys replies, «I never heard of it «when asked if they carried a particular kind of wood. Well excuse me for asking. I’m only attempting to buy something from your store. Meanwhile there’s a half dozen others just standing around… Now I know why everyone shops at Home Depot…

Wow, worst customer service I’ve ever seen. Went in looking for some small laminate divot floor repair options. First guy I asked called another guy who he discussed a few things with them told us what isle it would be on. Went to that isle and had not idea what we were looking for. We asked the nearest associate who tried to point out grouting filler. I then explained what I was needing and he took me over to another associate who then said what I’d need would be on isle four. I said ok what’s it called? He said he wasn’t sure but it’s be in the middle to the right and another associate said no it would be further down. NONE OF THESE ASSOCIATES seemed busy with anyone else but seemed clueless to walk with me to ensure I found the best product for my needs.

I have a love hate relationship with Lowes. I am building a house and spend a huge amount of money at Lowes and home depot.
Lowes is clearly cheaper and its price matching is great (you are supposed to get an additional 10% off for finding a cheaper price but they never give it with out requesting). Aways look online for prices for structural brackets and plumbing fittings. Commodities like abs pipe and Lumber will be fine.
Online shopping also has easy discounts which encourages order online and picking up in store.
NEVER pick up your order without checking it first. The Lowes ordering splits the same item into multiple lines which makes the list confusing and the staff does not give a shit about your order being completely wrong. I have have orders when i caught 10 items missing with a manger in earshot and they all acted like it is perfectly fine.

If I could give negative stars, Lowe’s would earn well over 5. Every time I somehow end up at Lowe’s, I kick myself for not remembering my previous experiences. The store is usually empty, and employees are far and few in between. I clearly remember one particularly terrible experience, which was my last. I had asked multiple employees for the location of a basic hardware material, only to be met with blank stares from employees about what the product even was, forget the location. I’m thinking someone may have finally just taken a wild guess, since I would later end up finding the aisle location on the opposite end of the store on my own after quite some time. Once I finally found the product (it nearly took up an entire aisle) I couldn’t find an employee anywhere– literally anywhere, to help me. Once I did, I honestly wished that I hadn’t.
The woman I did find was standing at a counter in an otherwise empty part of the store. I asked her for her help, and she said no. Just, no. I don’t think I’d ever received that reply when asking for assistance from a store employee. For some dumb reason, I asked her why. She explained to me that she was working at the (empty) counter, so it wasn’t her job. I asked if she could call someone over to assist me, and again her answer was no. Long and stupid story short, I ended up spending an extra 45 minutes locating someone who could help me, only to not receive any help from them.
A trip to Lowe’s is like a bad joke– a joke that’s on you, the poor unfortunate person who decided to attempt to shop at Lowe’s.

I would say it is the worst service EVER, if you could actually get service… which after 3 attempts for help still nothing! Off to Home Depot!
Mr. Glenn K from Pro Services is rude and clearly unable to focus on more than a 2×4. What a horrible representative of your company.

We bought a water heater there, and had a great experience.
Home Depot cost more and we could not find anyone there to answer questions; but at Lowes, our questions were answered. The manager was passing by, I told him we were new customers and he cut the delivery fee in half. The guy at the checkstand was very knowledgable and gave us a tip on how to get the best extended warranty. Finally, delivery was a full week — and we had no hot water — but the same clerk managed to get us delivered the very next day.
I was much more impressed with Lowes than I had expected to be!

If I could give zero or negative stars I would, this store has earned it. We ordered a storm door nearly 2 months ago and it has been a nightmare trying to get it installed through Lowes. The installation company (Kraft) was great, this review is based solely on the inept customer service provided by this location.
We ordered the door, which they had in stock, and pulled it to hold for the installers. The installation company was able to schedule us in about 3 weeks later. They arrived on time and the man asked me to come outside and verify it was the correct door before installation began. It was not. We had ordered the full view storm door with the built in retractable screen. They delivered a partial view door with a white panel at the bottom.
I explained this was incorrect and the installation company took the door and said Lowes would contact me. I immediately went back and looked at the contract and checked the SKU number on line. What came up was the door type I had ordered but now it was the wrong color (brown instead of white). I immediately called Lowes and told them what had happened and also pointed out that I thought the SKU number was incorrect.
After being passed back and forth between the install department and the mill works department I was told they would put a «note» in the file. He also made the comment that I had signed the contract with the wrong SKU. Gee I did not know I had to double check a 20 digit number input by someone else.
Now we go back into the waiting game of when the door can be installed. They were able to get us in about 3 weeks later. I had a bad feeling the «note» was not going to be enough to ensure we got a white door so I tried calling again. I was told they would call me back. They never did. I tired calling again. (Surprise! No return call.) My husband and I both drove to the store to speak to someone face to face. The person they said we needed to talk to was not there but they (the dept supervisor) would give him a message and have him call us that day. One guess… no call. I tried calling again. No reply. By this time I gave up and was praying the correct door would show up.
Today Kraft came with our new door. Before he could even take it off the truck I asked him «What is the color of the door?». His reply «Brown, that is what is on the contract and that is what they pulled.» I explained to him the situation and he said he thought something was wrong because no hardware was sent with the door.
He made several phone calls and they finally said «Oh yeah, we have the door here.» (Really? Then please tell me why my name was written on the other door?) The poor guy drove all they way back to Tigard from Canby, got the correct door and the hardware and came back out the same day to install it. I thank Kraft for their service, they were polite, on time and truly worked with us. We will never buy other item at this Lowes. Their loss since our next project is a new kitchen.
Management if you are reading this, which I doubt from seeing all the negative reviews you need to get your act together. Your sales associates are either not properly trained or just don’t give a damn. Either way, your are losing customers.

We moved here from outside Oregon to an older home needing basic appliances this was our 1^st time to rely on a chain box store, Lowe’s. 3 years later we needed additional appliances at this point we wanted to work with local providers …4 years of service repairs and waiting for warranty parts because of those purchases from a local appliance dealer we just believe that Lowe’s is the best place to ever consider appliance purchase s. Lowe’s has such integrity and knowledgeable staff and they take care of you.

I am agreement with the other reviewers about lowes Tigard appliance department. Extremely poor communication by third party installer. Installer came to my rental house did not call me or leave message why the dishwasher was not installed and carted it back to lowes in the box. Also, hard to get a salesperson on a weekday early in the morning to wait on you. So, ended up special ordering Bosch Ada dishwasher from them but next time I will stick to either where I usually go Home Depot or standard both match prices. I will be there when they install just to make sure they install it.

I was surprised that the competition did not have a glass cutting service! You know how sometimes when you go to a hardware store and ask an employee where something is and you end up in a totally wrong part of the store looking at something that could look like the actual item your looking for, but it’s not quite it. That’s because that employee doesn’t know what they are talking about and probably hasn’t had enough training.
Anyway, i didn’t get that here, they actually walked me to the item to make sure that i got what i was looking for.

I took shop in school growing up. I built a myriad of shelves, benches, etc. I can identify tools and occasionally use them. However I would still consider myself relatively unskilled when completing home projects. Thank goodness for the bf and this location. Typically he is working on the project and I run back and forth between here and home getting items to complete said project. They always have what we need at an affordable price and it’s pretty easy to navigate. On the rare occasion I can’t quickly find what I’m looking for, their friendly staff is always on hand to help. They also send out great coupons when you move into a new place. We definitely took advantage of that when we moved into our house and scored some great deals on a washer and dryer that they delivered for us. Returns? Easy, no hassle. I’m also a fan of their seasonal items, particularly this last Christmas when they had an Abominable Snowman on sale. Extra star for the Abominable.

I’ve been shopping here for years and the service is consistently terrible. Ask anyone a question and its immediately apparent that you are inconveniencing them. I had three separate interactions with so called «Customer Service» associates and all three were extremely rude, two actually rolled their eyes and huffed at thought of having to help «a customer». My 9 year old daughter even asked «why was that lady so rude»? Don’t take my word it… see for yourself… simply call the store, the person who answers isn’t going to ask how you are, or politely offer assistance, you’ll get a short, abrupt greeting, which is NOT a «greeting». What ever happened to polite, courteous associates offering sincere assistance to customers who are obviously there to spend their hard earned money?

Better selection than the HD nearby, it’s kind of hidden but worth the hunt. Now I only come here to buy stuff that I install myself so I don’t know about anything beyond the basics but if you need a light bulb or basic bamboo privacy fences at fair prices I’d give Lowe’s a go before HD. Also there is a lack of hardware stores around here so these big box guys are about your only choice.

Service at Lowe’s is poor. They hire contractors to install their products but they don’t follow up with them. I have had to call them at least six times to get my screen door properly installed by their contractor I do not recommend them

We purchased a light fixture through Lowe’s A brand name Portfolio. We had to replace the light once because of a design flaw in the socket. Now the socket has broken in one of the shades and needs repair. We were told by Their customer service that they do not have replacement parts for their products. The light fixture is no longer available.
This is a really good example of cheap merchandising. I will not buy lighting from Lowes again. This is for an elderly client’s home that does not have resources to keep replacing lighting that has only been up a short time.
They cannot back their products!

This is beyond ridiculous. I am only giving 1 star because giving zero stars is not an option. I have documentation of all of the below. My customer service experience with my recent carpet order has been terrible.
First, I was charged the incorrect amount for the carpet I selected. The carpet I chose in-​store was $ 0.65 per square foot and I was improperly invoiced (and my credit card was charged) at nearly $ 0.85 per square foot — a $ 130 over charge.
Second, I was called and told to come to the store to sign paperwork to finalize my carpet order and approve installation «which should take only a minute or two.» Upon arrival there was no one to be found in flooring to assist with this paperwork. After 15 minutes I then made my way to the Customer Service department at the front of the store where they were completely unfamiliar with what I was there to do after I explained they (Lowe’s) had called me to come to the store to sign paperwork regarding my carpet installation order. They then attempted to get ahold of someone who could help pull the paperwork for me to sign. I waited from nearly 15 MORE minutes before someone who was not familiar with the department attempted to help. While he was very nice and trying to fill a void in staffing he was not able to assist with any of the questions I had pertaining to my order and concern over not being invoiced correctly. I was told to follow-​up with someone who was from the department (ie making another trip back to the store or call the store at a later time).
After the paperwork was signed in-​store, that following week I was given a call asking if I was made aware that the carpet I had ordered would be from two different dye lots because that is something that I should have been made aware of when placing my order. I told him that I was not made aware of this dye lot issue and this was the first I was hearing about this. After further conversation I said I would be OK with this as long as I was given a discount. I was promised a 10% discount on my order (to be credited back to my credit card after the install was complete). I asked if any action was needed on my end to get this credit facilitated and I was told «no — they would handle and ensure it went through». Later that week I also spoke with someone about how I was charged the wrong price for the carpet (should have been charged $ 0.65 per square foot). During that conversation I was told over the phone that I would be credited for two things: 1) Incorrect carpet square footage pricing and 2) 10% order discount for the dye lot communication issue.
It took nearly 2 weeks after we had the carpet installed to see a credit on my credit card (after numerous phone calls — roughly five from my end, never returned…). And to top it off the credit that came through on 7÷31÷14 is INCORRECT. The credit amounted to $ 110 which is far less than the 10% order credit + carpet pricing correction I was promised.
This has all been a mess. An avoidable mess if Lowe’s would have actually cared about me as a customer. I am extremely dissatisfied and I will go to HOME DEPOT for any future needs I have.
What a shame, but it is one thing not to get things right, another thing not to get back to me, and yet another thing to screw up your attempt to fix things. Strike 3. You’re out.

Their prices on moving supplies are considerably cheaper than Home Depot for sure!

So you know you are an adult when you find yourself going to Lowe’s more than any other store…
This location is smaller than most, which is good and bad. Good because this smaller location has served as a store and a gym for me. I couldn’t imagine it being any bigger. I am worn out after shopping here. That being said they don’t have some things other locations do and have less in stock.
The people here have always been extremely helpful. Yes some of them might not know much, but they try to find out the answers for you. Some of the workers are incredibly knowledgeable also. We also accidentally left an item we paid for in the bottom of our cart when we left. Luckily they and we realized it. We went back and got the item with no problem.
