Today my husband and I were served by Shoshanna. Hubby and I own a small antiques and collectibles business, and today we took a chance on a vintage Sony WM-D3 at an estate sale. It’s a professional quality cassette recorder from the 1980s. Sadly, the 3V cord from Sony was not available at the estate sale so we had no idea if it worked. Hubby called«The Shack» to see if they sold 3V adapters. They are out of «universal adapters» but come on in and we’ll look to see what your item takes. We arrive about 10 minutes later. We were greeted by the staff, but they were busy checking out people at the register. Hubby and I walk down desperate aisles, and a few minutes later, Shoshanna asks me if I need help. I bring her to the hubby. He’s nervous. We just paid about ¼ what the recorder sells for on eBay. He wants a 3V adapter that will work, and not burn it out. Super Lady Shoshanna nicely checks out the amperage of adapters, then finds the right size head piece thingy for the power cord. It’s out of stock!(The only reason that the review isn’t 5 stars). Awesome gal lets us know that a new shipment is expected tomorrow, and wait to buy the power adapter chord because the end piece is FREE when you buy it with the power chord. Then she looks at the manual and sees that the device does actually take batteries and looks to see how to remove them.(The battery cover is inside with the tape!) Low and behold, there’s an old pair of dead batteries in there. She lets us try two AA batteries in the store. Eureka! The recorder works!!! Cha-Ching!!! We bought two rechargeable batteries today, and tomorrow we’ll call to see if the part has come into the store!

This place used to carry parts, now its just another cheap electronics store.
