I’ve loved this place now for your years. Always consistent, great service and affordable. Seared salmon, spider rolls, and calamari is what I always get.

I’ve been here lots more than I’ve checked in here, and probably lots more than I would really prefer– but it’s an OK place to go and get your sushi fix. I’ll preface this by saying I’m not really a track sushi fan(for some of the reasons you’ll read below) and this is one of only a few track sushi places I’ve been. They seem to be relatively popular in the Portland metro area, so this is what what you roll with. Service is good for what it is– it’s track sushi, pretty much the fast food version of a sushi restaurant. They serve soft drinks, beer, maybe wine, and some sake. When you’re sat(or shortly after for your drink order) is when you get the most service — if there’s something you want get it then if you can. Miso Soup, Edamame, and Calamari are what my group tends to order then. Hand rolls are good too. The track ranges from a decent variety to sparse vasts of salmon nigiri. There’s TONS of salmon nigiri on the track. I love it, I need some variety. On bad visits the track is useless, and you end up having to order many of the things you would like. On good visits it’s a nice mix of their various offerings. The cleanliness of the place seems fine– I too have been here an hour before close and seen the huge heaping pile of salmon sitting out and wondered what the hell they’re thinking. I’m assuming most of what they get is frozen and they thaw it there before putting it into refrigeration for the next day. I’ve probably been here at least 20 times, and I’ve never suffered from any sort of food borne illness that I could tell– I’d say this is a pretty good record for track sushi that’s out on the belt for an unknown(at least to me) amount of time. Their rolls are generally good, but several of them are a bit too robust for my taste. Then again, they’re probably answering the taste of their clientele to some extent. The baked/seared rolls with heavy sauces seem to fly off the track, and lots of patrons get extra heavy sauces on the side to dip their rolls in. To me, the roll should stand well on its own without a complete bath in soy sauce or wasabi slush or a dish of some sauce to mask the flavor of what you’re actually eating. I wish they kept a better variety of their rolls out on the line. They have some great nigiri and rolls that I’ve watched the line and not seen before having to order. The patrons who are inexperienced are probably missing out on items that they might really like! And yes, sometimes the plates come flying off the track to ruin expensive clothing, luxury handbags, and cause general chaos. If you wear nice clothes then you can afford to eat better sushi than the fast-food version. Or put on a smock. I should be nicer, my fiancé once had three plates dumped on her during 20 minutes of lunch… but short of a smock I don’t know how to fix it. It’s food moving around curves on a belt– these things happen. The value is where this place wins. I’ve had more here for less than I would ever pay at a plated sushi restaurant. It’s legitimately cheap, but the savings doesn’t come without sacrifice. It’s A-OK all the way. I’ll be back, I’ll probably enjoy, and I’ll leave satisfied enough. FWIW, I like this location better than the one on 99. It has seemed to have better selection on the track.

I was gonna give 3 stars, but then I ordered the 2-piece Grilled Eel and it was good enough to bump up the rating a whole star. I love walking right in, sitting down and immediately eating. Good fruit on the sushi goround, too.

Buenos Dias is what this place has turned into. Justin, Justin, Justin… shame on you for spreading yourself thin and not managing your restaurant. We were fans of this place when you and your family were around. You can tell that the Mexican cooks could care less in quality of sushi they’re putting out. Volcano roll has been on menu forever but I still have to ask them to put green onions on sushi every time! You need to make some changes in managing and provide staff training in this restaurant. You can’t have a sushi restaurant run by Mexicans! You need Japanese or Korean workers.

This place just does it right for me! Great tasting, variety of rolls, decently fresh, great prices, and just Americanized enough to appeal to my palate and from the looks of the place many others also! Friendly staff, clean facilities, and just a good atmosphere. You know when a place is always busy is that people like it. So I like this place and it works just great for me. I’ve never been disappointed when I go!

Ok, I’m going to drop the Japan card. I lived there for 4 years. I wasn’t the biggest fan of sushi when I was there, but I had it many, many times nonetheless. The prices are affordable at Sushi Hana, but the sushi and rolls are very low end. Lots of the rolls contained a heaping of that fake crab/mayonnaise(?) mixture. Never saw anything like that in Japan, but I do see it a lot in the US. Whatever. Now see my photo for how they handle their freshly cleaned fish. The two piles of salmon in the photo sat out at room temperature for the duration of our stay(~1 hr). I do not know what the refrigeration requirements are for cleaned sashimi(raw fish), but I believe you’re only supposed to clean fish for raw consumption that will be consumed in the same day. The photo was taken at 7:48PM, so clearly this fish is for the next day(s). I won’t be back.

Among the many times I’ve been here, this time was horrific. The sushi spilled on me twice and the servise was absolutely terrible. The sushi on the conveyer belt dropped onto me and the mayo got on my bag and my cloths. I’m was not happy but the worst was the way they handled this situation. There was no empathy for their costumers and apologie from the manager. She took three plates off the table and that was it. The whole meal costed 70 $. Three plates of 70=65. Money wasn’t an issue but the fact that the manager was the worst, rude and not under control of the situation. If you had food spilled on to you Twice, how would yoy feel? Not 5 $ off your entire meal. Coz that can’t bring back your nice MK purse that was ruined from the mayo from the sushi spill. Not to mentioned the orders I made that they neglected to do. I had to order twise. They just lost a valuable customer because I’ve been going there for years and now this shit happened? Furious. The worst customer service of my life! They really have no idea what is the right thing to do when they mess up like this. NEVERGOINGHEREEVERAGAIN!

The rice for the sushi wasnt prepared right and stuck to the plate more than it did to the other rice. It fell apart with a poke. Then my waitress forgot my soda and when i tried to grab her to ask for it again I was rewarded with a finger to the face and told to wait. Servers kept bringing food to the wrong customers, the couple next to me gave up on trying to get a french roll after they gave it to the wrong people and brought over a «fresh roll». Then to top off the whole experience, i spent an hour in the bathroom with intense abdominal pain ten minutes after leaving. Steer clear if you don’t like diarrhea.

Items on the belt aren’t labeled, and the menu does not list ingredients. I got cucumber and avocado rolls which had bits of fish stuck to them and tasted fishy and stale. The whole place smelled bad and did not seem very clean. Contrast to any of the Blue C locations in Seattle. Clean, the waitstaff speak english, veg items are marked, ingredients are listed, and a wealth of vegan items are available.

It’s not the same level of high end sushi so this rating is based on the fact that it’s fast food sushi. The food comes out quickly with lots of variety. It’s conveyor belt style so I always end up sitting at the bar. That we can be longer during key time frames. Well not the best sushi in the world the prices are great. Is one of the best values in town ! So it gets the job done when you have a craving for sushi! Service here is friendly and I actually felt bad for the hostess who had to deal with incredibly rude customers.

Fair prices. Same cookie cutter track sushi items. Are these track places all owned by the same guy or something in Portland? Meh.

Asked Siri«Looking for Sushi» stumbled upon Sushi Hana. This is a pretty cool approach to Sushi as they have basically a conveyer belt delivering & displaying all the Sushi choices(see video clip) on color coded plates. When you see what you like, the color of the plate determines the price of the rolls, you then grab it. It was really good. The prices are way fair. This is worth trying for sure.

I do not know why I punish myself by eating here more than once. I never order a soda but today I did and I found the only place in the city that doesn’t offer free refills. I think that is quite the accomplishment on my behalf. I ordered the seared tuna which came out well done and like liver pâté. You’re in for a real treat if you happen to accidentally pull down the mayo roll off the rack! Good luck!

I wish I can rate this place no star at all. This was the most disgusting place I’ve ever been to in my whole entire life. I took a bite of tuna nigiri and wow I thought I was going to throw up. But I wanted to be fair and decided to give it a few more tries just in case it was just that one particular dish that was gross. But I was wrong. Even my partner did not want to go near the food after just one bite. After a total of 4 unfinished dishes, we were out the door. Sadly, we couldn’t get the weird taste out of our mouths so we ended up skipping dinner for the day. Sorry, never coming back.

This place is pretty decent for revolving sushi. Nothing spectacular but I enjoy it for the price. The plates are all 1.85 with the exception of a few green plates that are 1.35. The staff is always nice and friendly. I like to go there with my son for a quick bite, he doesn’t it sushi but they bring him a plate of rice. It’s definitely my go to spot for sushi when money is tight.

I gave up! I will never gonna find good sushi in Oregon like in San Francisco. Went here for lunch with friends today. The squid salad: hard to chew and dry Spicy Salmon: not enough spice, hard to chew and burnt Baked mussel: too spicy and not enough to flavor Calamari: dry dry and dry and been running in the belt for hours! Taste too salty! Not sure if I will go back.

Let me tell you. I LOVE sushi boats, sushi trains, and sushi you can pull off any mechanical contraption. So, you can imagine my enthusiasm as soon as I saw this place. Where should I start? Good– 1. It’s a good selection of cooked(helpful with having friends that don’t ear raw stuff) and uncooked 2. If it’s not on the menu, you can ask the waitresses to order Bad– 1. ITALLTASTESTHESAME!!! LOL! After awhile, each roll or sushi just kind of blended together. I think it’s because similar sauces are used on a lot of the rolls. 2. A bowl of udon costs $ 6! Wow, I can get a package of udon at the grocery store for about $ 0.99. Even if it comes with a tempura and a few other things, I just can’t see it being worth $ 6. 3. The wait. It’s long. 4. Why is there so much rice on the sushi? This is a tip I learned when I was in Australia. If you want to sell more dishes, add less rice. Therefore, people will EAT more dishes because they will be hungry. If you were a buffet restaurant where it’s a set price, by all means load up on the rice to fill people up! Just a few thoughts…

I hadn’t been in Sushi Hana for a while. Its always super busy and not conducive for quick work lunches and also just not in my hood. Today though — after a Sunday trip to the reptile house, where Princess and her BFF decided they will one day share a bull python in their college apartment(ugh) — we dropped in for an early dinner during happy hour. BFF had never been to sushi track before and is a vegetarian on top of that so this was an entertaining outing for her. Princess is a sushi track veteran so she helped her friend settle in with inari, miso, fresh fruit, spring rolls, and soda. There were beautiful strawberries, raspberries, and grapes on the belt this time. Often when I’ve been here the server ladies arent super attentive and its been difficult to order special items but on this occasion they were awesome and we got everything we needed. I found plenty of salmon nigiri, a philadelphia roll, sesame balls, a crunchy california roll, nursed my diet coke and watched the girls put pictures on instagram and my kid teaching BFF chopstick skills. Then the double dog daring started. They saw a sign for fresh uni(I explained it was sea urchin) and B FF dared Princess to try it. Not a hit. But emboldened the daring progressed to calimari/squid, then ebi/raw shrimp, then unagi/eel. A server thought the daring was adorable and offered the girls suggestions on how to get bites of the feared creatures down. She was super cute. They liked calimari most. Deep fry anything and its edible, am I right? Unagi and uni, just no. They instagrammed all of it. Even BFFs fall from vegetarianism for which I feel a touch responsible. It was happy hour so 20+ plates($ 1.85 a plate) and three drinks didnt hurt as much as it could have. The girls were happy to have a hard candy from the bowl by the register on the way out to get the eel taste out of their mouths. A sweet Sunday afternoon outing, despite the snakes and the uni.
