My wife and I stop here every time we visit our family in Portsmouth. Their coffe is really good. Being a coffee snob, I try their different brews and all are consitently good. It blows away dunkin donuts coffee, but honestly that, imo, is not hard to do. I do wish it they had a bit more indoor seating.

So, this is what I wish I had known before I showed up(ehemm, other reviews): There is veeeery little seating inside. So, that doesn’t matter in the summer or nice weather, but in the winter it’s really best for stopping through and taking something to go. The staff were very nice, and there is a great little beach across the street to sit at and drink your coffee hence the lack of seating, but that’s also not much of a winter time activity. Americano was mediocre. Honestly, this is a hoppin local joint that had a revolving door of business, and the baristas knew their regulars by name. So they have something good going on, just don’t plan on sitting and working/reading in this funky little shop.

I have a treasured memory of sitting in an adirondack chair in the sunshine, sipping an iced coco loco, watching kayakers and paddle boarders go by on the Sakonnet River, music playing inside that was quiet enough to be indistinguishable but loud enough to be enjoyed while staff cheerfully cleaned at the end of the day. It was a moment of pure bliss. Thanks to Coastal Roasters for providing such a lovely moment that I still reflect on 2 years later. I’ve been back countless times and have never been disappointed. Delicious coffee, a small selection of scrumptious baked goods, friendly staff, and an unassuming eclectic atmosphere that’s always welcoming.

Hard to beat a cup of coffee made with love and good beans while sitting in an Adirondack Chair watching life go by on the Sakonnet River. Coastal Roasters is a statewide standout. Tons of heart. Great local buzz. Wish there were more savory snack options and dedicated parking lot. Love love love love love.

My first visit to this cute coffee café. Extremely friendly and very welcoming. Love the outdoor area to just hang out and enjoy your favorite beverage. Mine was a large caramel Latte. Large is large! No skimping on the size. I’m not sure what happens when it gets cold out because the inside is so tiny. I met a really cute local couple. Really friendly. It’s located right on the river which makes the view pleasant to sit for awhile and take in the sites. The selection of teas and coffees are amazing. Definitely try if your in the area and head a little further down the road for a well known Lobster Roll.:)

In the past seven years that I have lived on Aquidneck Island, I have found some good options for coffee in the surrounding area. I had heard about Coastal Roasters a few times for some reason, had never checked it out. I’ve now come a couple of times and it has been awesome for both. The first time, I got a regular iced coffee to see how the taste of the actual coffee was. The coffee is very nutty and strong but not too strong. Really good. I got a mocha the next time which was also great. They definitely know what they’re doing. They also have some cool coffee options that I have yet to try as well as a multitude of teas and other stuff. Very cute little place, too! They manage to fit a lot of character into both the inside and the outside. The inside is very small and generally used just for ordering. The outside has Adirondack chairs and other seating that make it a great place to hang out on a nice day. Will be back soon!

This is my favorite coffee shop in RI. The location is scenic and serene and they roast a variety of free trade coffee varying roasts. The aroma in the area is wonderful. In addition have fresh products from local and Cape Bakeries. The service is fast and friendly. A local gem.

Coastal Roasters is STILL killin’ it! Great little coffee spot right on the water and relatively easy to get to from Route 24. The coffee just tastes real. Like, extra coffee-y. The way coffee should taste. Roasted in-house so it’s always the freshest. Always. If coffee isn’t what you fancy, they’ve got a tremendous selection of loose tea also. Or maybe you’d like a fruit smoothie with an energy boost. Or how about a delicious locally baked treat. Scones, bagels, granola bars, croissant, etc. Not only is Coastal Roasters a great place to grab a cup of coffee and a snack but it’s also the perfect spot to catch wind of the local Tiverton/Little Compton happenings. They’ve always got posters for local art shows, plant sales, music gatherings and they usually have a box set up selling eggs or veggies or somethin’ from one of the many local farms. If you’re on the run and lookin’ for something quick, that’s fine but if you have a minute, you should really grab a seat outside, pick up the local paper and just sort of absorb the vibe that this gem is offering. One thing to note is that while they only close, I think, 2 days a year or something like that, it’s really a morning kind of place and by 5pm most days they’re closed.

Everything I’ve ever gotten from Coastal Roasters, from black coffee to ginger berry smoothies has been excellent. The coffee is fresh roasted in house, so it is inexpensive and delicious. The smoothies are fresh creative and uplifting, or in some cases, like the peanut butter chocolate one– a super decadent special treat. It is sort of awkward to sit inside of, but outside there are lots of picnic tables and adirondack chairs that look out onto the river. I think of it as more of a stop-in-and-get-a-drink-to-go place than a coffee hang out place, but I love it anyway. The staff are a cool cast of characters, they are personable and always seem to be laughing and having fun, they must all be friends. I Love Co-Ro, and highly recommend it.
