Great food! Authentic. Why? I smell lika an Arab after eating. Joking aside, their food is authentic middlw eastern. Only passing by from a road trip. I’m glad we did.

I have heard about this place for years and we were so looking forward to trying it. We had terrible service, our waitress was nice enough, but had been assigned tables in different rooms, so the service she provided was abysmal, she was no where to be found. 3 of us ordered the filet tips. There was NOWAY that cut of meat was filet, it was maybe eye of round or chuck roast or some kind of stew meat. It was very very tough. There was no hope of speaking up since our waitress was MIA. The other diner had filet and humus, and that was clearly a better cut of meat, it looked totally different. All 4 of us ordered our meat cooked to medium. 3 were well done, 1 was medium. The filet tips were served with a side of what was likely boxed rice(like a rice a’roni). On the only bright side, The humus was excellent. It took over 2 hours to have a casual dinner due to the poor service. Dinner for 4, one cocktail each, was $ 130.

I am not familiar with Lebanese cuisine so I was a bit skepitcal but the food was great. Everything had amazing, intense flavor which was fitting. My boyfriend said the tabouli was the best he has ever had and even took another to go. They also have Italian dishes with simple items like pizza. The kids loved the pizza and I can’t wait to try their leftovers! The waitress and bus boy were incredibly sweet. They made us feel right at home. We had two young kids and it was late on a school night but they were understanding and kind. Very relaxed but classy atmosphere. Give it a try– you wont be disappointed!

Every time we’re in Toledo(what’s up Glass city!) we go here. I don’t know what they do to their lamb chops but they’re the best I’ve ever had. Tender, juicy and so full of flavor-my mouth is watering just thinking of it. I love their hummus and you should get the artichoke appetizer — it’s served warm(I know it sounds weird but trust me it’s delicious) and you should definitely dip the warm puffy pita bread in the oil the artichokes comes in. Seriously. Oh and get the Lebanese wine-it’s so so good!

Classy sophisticated and great for large parties. Stellar menu. Go on a weekend when they make their fresh bread. Apps to split a must. Great service.

Can’t beat this place! Best hummus around! Service is always good. Price is good and the portions are worth the price! French onion soup is great as well as the pizza. If you get hear later in the evening you’ll be waiting a long time due to the popularity of the great restaurant. I highly recommend this place to eat while in Toledo.

Wonderful resturant ! We were surprised to find such place in Toledo when we first moved here. Food tastes great with big portions. They serve small freshly baked pitta bread, all the family liked them. Prices are ok I think. Good for big groups, we were 6 that time, and not noisy at all. Highly recommended :)

I’ve been to this restaurant hundreds of times. The crowd consists of families, politicians, physicians, and celebrities-just take a look at the wall of autographs in the lobby. This is the place to be for any celebration that provides immaculate Lebanese cuisine and a very dreamy ambience. Check out the painted tapestry room. The portions are huge and you almost always need a to go box. The waitstaff is very friendly and the owners are usually there to make sure patrons are more than satisfied. It’s a family favorite and go to place whenever you’re in the mood for great food. I recommend the canaloni or the lamb shank with rice and carrots.

I lived in Toledo for 18 years. I enjoyed a lot of the food it had to offer. With that being said, hands down, the Beirut is in the top 2 best restaurants in the entire city. It is quite surprising to stumble upon a place with this much quality and taste in a city that is known for drowning a hot dog with some sloppy joe sauce. If you don’t have a favorite already, you must try the beef tips with hummus. Seriously, I can’t remember when I enjoyed a meal this much before.

While this pains me to write, as Beirut is by far my favorite Toledo tradition, I was severely disappointed at the response after I was robbed outside their restaurant. I am a 25 year old woman, and after a wonderful meal I walked my 13 year old sister to the car around nine at night. While the lot was not their own, it was clear that we were not the only Beirut customers obliged to park across the street. As we briskly walked over to the car we were held at gun point and I lost my wallet, phone, keys, and coat. The next day we called the restaurant to inform them of the possible lingering threat. I was told that I should be more careful and I should have asked for an escort. This left me feeling not only violated from the incident, but also as though I had been betrayed by a wonderful family establishment in Toledo. With so many wonderful young, female servers do you expect them to escort me? Or do you expect them to walk to their cars during after hours? Beirut, please address the security of your property, not only for your customers and staff, but for the long lasting tradition you have sustained in Toledo.

I really don’t know what to say about the Beirut, besides the fact that it is absolutely amazing. This restaurant serves high-quality, delicious food with friendly service and remarkable prices. I’ve been going to the Beirut for years and have never EVER been disappointed with the quality of the food or the quality of the service. The Beirut is a staple among Toledo foodies. And don’t be surprised to wait for a table on a busy night. But trust me, it is well worth the wait. Parking is kind of hectic so I recommend parking down one of the side streets if there are no spots left in the lot. As for the food… There are so many good dishes and so much good food to try. My family and I always order TONS of appetizers and just share. And that’s how we comprise our meal. Some of my favorites are: hummus, dami, kafta(raw!), sautéed mushrooms, artichoke hearts, grape leaves, and ara-yes. The best part about Beirut: if you’re lucky enough to have leftovers to take home!

We’ve heard wonderful things about this place so we just had to give it a try. Unfortunately, I think we just ended up picking the bad entrees that night. Neither of us were very happy about our choices, but hopefully the next time we will choose winners. First off, the night started weird because their front entrance was locked. It was a busy Saturday night at dinner time and we couldn’t get in! At first we thought maybe there was an alternative entrance until we managed to catch the door as people were leaving. We let the manager know and everything was fixed. The dining area is so cozy. It’s similar to some Italian restaurants in KC that we’ve been to. There are vines covering the ceilings and it almost feels like you are in a hidden grotto. I like the atmosphere. You first start off with some bread and butter. They gave us a ton of bread! It was more like pita bread really, but it still isn’t pita. I don;t know exactly what kind of bread it was, but it was nice to have while we were waiting for our food. So I wasn’t feeling super hungry and I saw that most of the plates were around $ 20, which is a little high for us. So we decided to each get some of the cheaper plates on the menu; this was our mistake. I got the Chopped Sirloin($ 12) which is basically hamburger meat that has been shaped to look like a steak. It fooled me initially, and then I realized what it really was. I also wanted to have it medium rare and it came out well done. I would avoid this entrée unless you like hamburger meat that is broiled like a steak. The bf got the Broiled Chicken($ 13) which is a half chicken over a bed of rice and this cold green bean salad. His dish was pretty tasty, the chicken was moist and flavorful. Just wish that it came with some kind of sauce because the plate overall was a little dry. Overall, I can see that this place has a lot of potential. We should’ve forked over some more cash to get some of the other dishes that were recommended to us. Next time we will actually try some of the Mediterranean dishes when we are here! Pros: — free bread and butter — nice atmosphere — huge portions of food Cons: — a little bit more pricey($ 20 plates) — non-Mediterranean dishes were not very good — how can you lock your doors on a Saturday night? Why I gave it a 2… I think we just picked the wrong dishes here. We will definitely have to come back and try the actual Mediterranean dishes. I’m hoping we just both picked the worst items on the menu. It is expensive($ 20 a plate on average) so we will have to come here after it’s been pay day.

I heard the lamb shank at Beirut was very good so I just had to try it. Beirut was easy to find but parking was challenging. I was lucky to find parking on the restaurant’s lot. The falafels were great. The spices are a little different for other falafels I’ve had. I loved them. The lamb shank was cooked beautifully. The meat was tender and the connective tissues just melts in your mouth. The gravy was so good and went well with the rice. The rice just soaked up all that wonderful gravy. Definitely will RTE when in Toledo.

I’d give the food four stars, the service one. I’ve been in here just the one time. Food was great, service and atmosphere were both bad. It was dark like a night club and the waitress was rude to my companion. Not that it affects my rating, but they also had a picture of Bill Cosby on the wall. I’d i were management I’d take that down.

Cold store bought pitas served with our hummus. Appetizer(hummus) came out with meal. No air conditioning(82° outside). 1 waitress for the entire restaurant. Fattoush salad didn’t have one shred of lettuce. The chicken shawarma consisted of grilled chicken chunks with large burnt grill marks. The highlight of the meal was receiving the check so we could get the hell out of there.

This place comes heavily recommended from locals and it was definitely an enjoyable meal. I came with a large group so we got a variety of appetizers. I was very glad that they brought an abundance of fresh vegetables so that I could enjoy a ton of hummus without eating sixteen pitas. The lamb shanks were stupendous. If I were to return, this would be my meal. The other appetizers that we ordered were not incredibly memorable. That being said, we ate enough of them that we were not even hungry when the entrees came. This was unfortunate, because the portions were HUGE. My tablemates seemed to enjoy their meals, a range of the standard meat entrees. I ordered the Foul Mudammas, which was good but way too oily.

This was our first trip to Beirut and our first Lebanese experience. We have attempted many times to dine here but the parking lot was full, so we got here early on a Thursday before everybody got out of work. We call it the 4:55 shuffle. Upon entering the greeting was friendly, the place was dark but cozy, and at 4:55 pm we had our choice of seats and thus selected a booth near the bar. I am a Yukon Jack drinker and was pleasantly surprised that an ethnic restaurant stocked it as I have come to realize that few do. We ordered Grape Leaves, Hummus, and fresh warm Pita Bread for our appetizers. When I first read about Grape Leaves I thought… nah …does not sound good to me. I had to try them and I was WRONG, they were delicious. The Hummus was nothing like I had before. I did not care for Hummus… till now. I guess it matters who makes it. The Pita Pockets were hot off the press; warm and tender. We enjoyed our very filling appetizers… down to the last bites. Service Service was attentive and friendly. They made us feel warm and welcome and we did. Main Course We ordered the Combo Jumbo … Shish Kafta, Shish kabob Beef, Shish kabob Chicken served on a bed of rice and onion and a separate plate of fries. It was delicious and enough for two. We ate 2⁄3 and took the other 1⁄3 home. PLUS They kept the warm pitas coming, My wife did not have to use her steak knife, a butter knife cut the beef! They wrapped our take home box in plastic to prevent car spillage. Bathroom was clean… Yay! HEALTHPLUS We observed a young man in the kitchen area sneeze in a manner as not to contaminate anything. Minus My Yukon Jack and Cokes were $ 7. That is a stretch for that liquor except Key West and NYC. I know b/c I am Yukon Jim. Next time Ill stick with beer. The Stella Artois were $ 3.25 and that is awesome and made up for it. OVERALL Yes, we are going back. We now like Lebanese food. Thank You Beirut.
