Came through yesterday for lunch and couldn’t believe how different the commercials are than the actual service you get. I can understand that some people don’t like their jobs, but then don’t be there. At least the owner or managers should weed out these workers and give a shot to people who actually care about their business. I was ordering and speaking loud and clear, also slowly so that they can get my order in one shot and save their service time. The lady was messing up left and right, which I don’t really care about as long as it ends up correct when I pay for it. What bothered me was that as I was correcting her, she was making these loud gasps and sighs each time. I felt like she didn’t want me to be there because I was annoying her or wasting her time and that on its own, is annoying. Then a second voice came on the speaker and yelled at me the total of the order, as if they also were annoyed at me. So I drove up to the window already worried that my food probably was going to be tainted somehow out of rage. So I pulled up to the window where they have this turnstile looking service window that makes it feel like you are serving food in a prison or something. The only thing I could thing this indicates is that Popeyes is a brand that only opens in unsafe locations. Either that or they get robbed very often. That doesn’t matter though. What matters is that they didn’t speak to me. They opened the window and waited for me to place my credit card down. She took my card and disappeared for a few minutes. I turned around to talk to my fiancée for a minute and when I turned back I watched the worker load the food on the turnstile. She then turned the turnstile with so much force that it made a loud crash and my card when flying out the window. I looked up and she already left the service area. She was so mad that I decided to give them my money during lunch time. I was only guilty of being hungry and giving them a chance. Oh yea, I was the only customer there. The restaurant was dead at lunch time. Maybe horrid customer service is the reason why. The fries are good, but the chicken is nasty. It leaks fluid from the skin which is gross looking AND gross tasting. I spit it out. It was so gross and something I have never seen before that I almost began to wonder if this was the food sabotage I was afraid of. The actual chicken tastes very rubbery in some spots making you wonder if it’s real chicken. I would rather eat McDonald’s chicken nuggets over this again, and I do not like McDonald’s at all! I didn’t take the food back because I knew if I was worried about the safety of my food now, I would really have to worry the second time around. Please whoever runs this shop, get it together. I am going to be sharing this story with as many people as possible to spare them the grief. I won’t be going back.

First off, I’m a vegetarian so this review isn’t about the taste of their food. However, I often must stop by here at the request of my grandparents, and I’ve never had an easy or delightful experience. In terms of service, this place is just bottom of the barrel. They mess up orders consistently. They give the wrong change often. For a fast food chain, their service is extremely slow(even when there aren’t many customers). I’m giving them an extra star only because at least my grandparents enjoy their food which I guess means something…

I don’t know what’s up with this place. The chicken is reasonably priced and pretty good for fast food. They have a couple of unique side items and feature limited time offers which keep things interesting. Everything except the fries — which always seem to be sitting awhile — is usually fresh. My main issue with Popeye’s is they leave things out of the order. I’ve had to go back for missing sides and they never give me the right dipping sauce — several times none at all. Last winter, I had the misfortune of placing a drive-thru order about a half hour before closing. Apparently, the car in front of me ordered 10 meals, and I sat and sat and sat. Finally, I got to the window. They told me to pull around and they’d bring my food out. After twenty more minutes of waiting I knocked on the door to see what was taking so long. It was locked and they already had my money so I was helpless. And starving. At last someone came out with the food. I asked«is the sauce in the bag?» They said«yes». I got a mile down the road, and discovered there was no sauce! The reason I asked was because they left it out the previous two times. After that I swore never again. Six months later, I decided to give them another try. I asked for blackened ranch to go with my tenders. What’s in the bag this time? Honey and ketchup. I don’t understand. Was I supposed to mix them together to make my own psuedo barbecue sauce? How hard is it to remember the sauce? I’m starting to think they do it on purpose. I’d probably give them three or even four stars if they got the details right.

The staff is just awful, seriously bad. Expect to get some attitude with your chicken. I would not give this place your business, period.

I love Popeyes chicken but this place has lousy management. A week ago I ordered mild chicken and when I arrive home it was spicy. I called and was told I would have to bring the chicken back in town to make it right. I live 15 miles away… No big deal… everyone makes mistakes. I went back tonight and order mild and was given spicy. I went back through drive thru and they supposedly replaced with mild. It was still spicy. I love spicy chicken but my wife cannot eat it. I called and the manager told me she personally put the mild chicken in so she knew it could not be spicy. GIVEME A BREAK. THESE folks are Morons. I wouldn’t go back if they gave me a free coupons. Who knows what else they do to get by in the kitchen.

Popeye’s is my favorite fast food chicken place. There are number of Popeye’s establishments near my area and they are always fresh and good. We just happened on to this Toledo branch, since we were really hungry after the Boise State vs Toledo football game and Arnies was packed and their lights all went out. The chicken was definitely not up to par like the other Popeye’s places I have experienced. That’s too bad since it is the only one in the area.

I usually LOVE popeyes, but this branch doesn’t do the restaurant justice. It is disgusting some of the things they peddle out of this restaurant. The chicken is always stale and the biscuit is never fresh. I love cajun food and i love popeyes but this branch is just plain awful. Even the red beans and rice usually come out dry…

This is the only one in town and I and I am more than disappointed. They dont’ have a competent manager and work force at all. Don’t dare order the drive thru, go inside and talk to them face to face. My very first time at this location was horrible, let me give you the chain of events. I order 4 «Number 1» meals which gives you some chicken tenders, a side, biscuit and regular size drink. We wanted two regular, 2 spicy. For our sides, we had 2 dirty rice, 1 macaroni and cheese and one mashed potatoes(that was the only thing they got right. they didn’t even get drinks right, it was two cokes, a fruit punch and a sprite. We got to the window, the number one wasn’t chicken tenders like the drive thru board says, it was something else. so we explained to us that a number 1 is whatever they gave us. So we said that we actually wanted the no. 1 off of the menu outside, which is chicken tenders and the manager got mad. So they didn’t change it for us, and none of them were spicy, even though they asked if we wanted spicy. The drinks was the most amazing, the two cokes made it out okay, so did the fruit punch, but when it came to the SPRITE that I personally ordered, they gave me a cup of ice. I look at the reciept even though I was paying for something we didn’t want because it was somehow our mistake for ordering the wrong thing, I see that they charged extra for drinks. The menu said it was included and the lady on the speaker asked«what kind of drinks would you like with that?» and we ended up paying extra for that too because the manager didn’t want to talk to us, he instead wanted us to call 1800 popeyes because we got really upset and asked for our overcharged money back and he wouldn’t give it to us. Why such bad people have to happen to such a tasty restaurant? So I called and Popeyes said that they were going to send me the full refund amount, never happened.
