This butcher shop has been around for over 50 years and has excellent Hungarian sausage. It is difficult to find but very well worth the trouble. Enjoy you visit and the meats!

I spent the better part of 10 years tooling around Toledo in a cab. You don’t do that and not get some idea of where the good food is. I came across this little gem of a market about 2 years ago after dropping off someone down the street. I love exotic food, and this isn’t exactly exotic, but the natural skin hot dogs are the bomb. So is the sausage and everything else they put their hand to. It’s not easy to find, but it you’re at that world famous hot dog emporium you’re not too far from Takacs. Just drive down Consaul, hang a left at Genesee and look for a market that’s been there since God was in short pants. It’s not hard to miss. Walk in(if they’re open) and order several pounds of whatever tickles your nose. The prices are reasonable, and they have a following. If you happen to be from out of town, make sure to stock up.
