I love the hell out of Tony Packo’s. The chili dogs are 2nd to none, and the only people who would disagree are people from Cincinnati who won’t shut up about their weird-ass Skyline chili dogs that taste like chocolate and watered down Hormel. Tony Packo’s chili is also really good, as are the chili cheese fries. Maybe i’m in the minority here, but the dumplings, macaroni, and mashed potatoes are not tasty at all to me. Tony Packo’s chili dogs are incredible and those alone propel my rating to 5 stars. Also helps that the service is always good, there’s a good atmosphere, and there’s a little shop inside too that it’s cool the browse around.

I always stop and have the chili when in the area. It’s not the best I’ve ever had but it is ranked high on my list. Good service no complaints

This is a definite must stop by if you are in the area. They had really good hot dog meals at a great price. It was super busy when we arrived so the kitchen was a bit backed up. We were attended to by Heather who was very apologetic about the wait. It was really neat to read the history of the place and see all the signed buns on the walls. Check it out next time you hit up Toledo!

Expensive for what you get, but really good chili, and really good dogs. The A/C was blasting in here on a hot Sunday afternoon when some friends and I stopped in to grab a bite to eat. We all four ordered the classics – chili dog combos and chicken paprikash(sp?). Attentive service provided by a server and a grandma-type busboy-type worker – very friendly and welcoming/helpful. The waitress found out it was my first time and even though I told her my friends already explained the place to me – AND I had read the back of the menu — she insisted all the same in reciting the place’s history(getting some of it wrong, actually – or at least at odds with what the menu story tells). On to the food: GOOD! Fried pickles came out fast and hot with Delicious spicy ketchup. Fast coming out, the chili and dogs seemed to have fresh ingredients like the onion and cheese, and the chili was simply outstanding. Their dogs are cut in half but of a sausage-type quality and size. Very good, I’d go back if I didn’t mind paying $ 12 for a two-dog combo. The combos come with two sides, I got chili and the cucumber salad. Sorry guys, the cucumber salad was very bland. Served very cold(thank you!) but generally lacking in any flavor other than cucumbers and very(very) thin cream… like 2% milk. No onion that I could tell, and only the slightest hint of vinegar. Not the cucumber salad I’ve had 100s of times growing up in the Midwest. Overall, a bit pricy but good food.

Best chili dog ever! Spicy chili sauce and a large hot dog sliced in half had that snap when you take a bite. Yum! I also had the German potato salad and it was good.

Yeah, this shit was good! The hotdog with natural casings snaps in your mouth. The deep fried pickles were very good. Good chili(although mine is better!). And the staff was wonderful! Oh, plus the bathrooms were clean for being so busy!

I ate too many pickles!!! Fried then in a Bloody Mary and they came with my hotdog. But they were great! Loved the signed hotdog buns on the walls! Destination restaurant for sure!

I love me some Tony P’s. Incredible. Legendary. Tasty. Quick. And a little slice of heaven! I like the combo deal. Delicious hot dog in a bun smothered with their tongue tantalizing chili sauce. Make sure you get some cheese to sprinkle on top! I just love the hot pickles that come with it. I usually upgrade to the chili cheese mac. Chili cheese mac is made up of little dumplings, topped with chili and cheese… My favorite place in Toledo!

It’s legendary, what can I say? It’s awesome! The fried pickles are great because the breading doesn’t come off when you take one bite or the pickle! Aside from the hotdogs being delicious, the chicken sandwhich is great! It’s shredded chicken and the bun is very soft. It’s a cool little place to stop at if in Toledo.

The food is good and the service is always great, everyone is very friendly and the chili is a must. There is of course a lot of fun M.A.S.H. memorabilia to check out there as well.

A lot of others may not like Tony Packo’s as much as I do, and I’m sure there are others that love it more than me too. I’ve been going here for years, at least since I was 18.(I’m 46 now) Touristy, maybe, but you have some darn good food with a lot of T Town history. My only complaint is that its no longer owned by the family and was sold out to someone else. Thankfully very few changes have been made over the years and the food is still good. I’ve always got a jar or two of the sweet hots in my fridge and love to shop for cool swag at the gift shop when I go out to eat there. Thanks for keeping this Toledo tradition alive.

My 6 year old son asked me to log in and give Tony Packo’s a 5 star review, because it was the best dog he ever had. His dog was made with an American dog, but he had it with the dog sauce, which is kind of a meat chili vaguely similar to Skyline. The side of chips he insisted on were kinda bland, but my daughter had some home style mac and cheese she enjoyed. Having never been here I ordered the feast and the dog and stuffed cabbage were excellent, though the chili was different from what I like, but chili seems to be a religious discussion. The dog is some variety of Hungarian smoked sausage that was spilt and I think grilled. We had their fried pickles which were also excellent, made from ½ inch slices of their house pickles. My wife had the veggie chili mac made with paprikash style dumplings which she also enjoyed. Rounded out with a couple beers from their decent but not large overly large beer selection, and a nice home made apple dumpling with 4 spoons. We sat next to all the M*A*S*H mementos, which was very cool.

Definitely lived up to the hype! I have been told about Tony Packo’s and how great it was for years and finally had to opportunity to stop in on Monday. Absolutely loved it! I really enjoyed the cabbage roll, one of the best things I have had to eat in quite a while. The coney dog was also very good. Everything else look outstanding. Service was very quick and friendly. I highly, highly recommend stopping in when in Toledo!

Good German potato salad. Deep fried pickles have a little kick in them. Good hot dog. Average bun. Thought the chili was good. Not what I am used to, coming from Detroit. Service was very good. Would eat here again.

Randomly found this place on Unilocal when I was searching for great food places somewhere along the route from Cleveland to Chicago. I saw that Tony Packo’s had a lot of good reviews so my boyfriend and I decided to take a quick detour to grab a bite. Their most popular items seem to be the fried pickles and Packo’s Feast, which has a cup of chili, a chili dog and a cabbage roll. So that’s exactly what we ordered. I also had a bowl of their chicken soup with Hungarian dumplings. The fried pickles were perfectly fried. They come with some kind of ranch dipping sauce and a jam I think? The chili was just alright. It had too much of this one seasoning, but I couldn’t figure out what it was. The cabbage roll was really good. There was lots of meat inside and it was very filling, but at the same time, I didn’t want to stop eating it. The soup was very good as well. There were a lot of ingredients in there, which was nice that it wasn’t just mostly broth. I normally don’t like celery but I’ll gladly tolerate it again for another bowl of the soup. I also read about how great their chicken paprikash was but I completely forgot to order it until after we left and we were already on the road again. Tip — don’t worry about parking. There are plenty of random parking lots just for Tony Packo’s around the restaurant. Then again, we came in on a weekday at around 3 pm, so I’m not sure how crowded it would normally be. But it looks like it’s the spot everyone goes to because the place is huge. And what else is there to do in Toledo?

Tried one of their hot dogs with meat sauce. It was delicious. Service was great and the price was reasonable. Wish there was a Tony Packos near my home.
