Super yummy food. Worth the stop if you are near Toledo! Got a few dogs and the deep fried pickles. The whole family left with smiles on our faces. They have autographed hot dog buns as décor!!!

Just stopped here for beers and a couple appetizers and had a good experience. Beer buckets were cheap — 4 for $ 9…good start! Then we ordered the fried pickles & peppers. We were confused to see no peppers but realized the peppers refers to one of the sauce options that comes with the plate. It was tasty — a good amount of spice but not overwhelming. Although, I’d say ranch would still be by go-to. The fried pickles had a thicker coat of breading around the pickle slice(looked like a chicken nugget), but they were good!. We also ordered the chili cheese fries, since Packo’s is known for their chili. This also was delicious. We had prompt service. No complaints!

While visiting Toledo we tried Tony Packo’s upon recommendations of friends. It was in downtown Toledo near the baseball stadium. And luckily they have free parking across the street. We tried their original hot dog which is more like a sausage. I got mine with chili and cheese which was really good. I split chili cheese fries with my husband and they were good too. The chili had beans, which I thought was good, but my hubby didn’t like the beans. The hot dogs are served with pickles which were good but a little spicy. It was really good and reminded me of my favorite hot dog place in Pennsylvania. They have a great gift shop with their pickles, hit dog sauce and chili. I bought a few cans to go.

Amazing! Go to packos at the Park or my favorite, the Original. There are 5 locations in Toledo. Get the hot dog with meat sauce, and the chicken paprikash. Ask for extra pickles, the sweet hots. They are great!

Packo’s at the Park. A really great place to dine before a Mud Hens or Walleye game. The restaurant has lots of pictures showing the history of the Mud Hens. They are famous for their Hungarian hotdogs and Chilli. Don’t forget the streudel for dessert. The food is good. Maybe not great. But it is unique and fun. The original Packo’s, across the River, is worth a visit. It has the signed celebrity hotdog buns which is fun to see.

The entire chain recently changed from Coca-Cola to Pepsi products. While Coke and Pepsi are generally interchangeable, Diet Pepsi is a disgusting substitute for Coke Zero or Diet Coke. The only reason a restaurant changes is purely economical as Pepsi is available at a much lower cost, which helps make up for the incremental loss of beverage sales. What is further frustrating however is the change to Pepsi was paired with an overall price increase and a noticeable reduction in portion size of some menu items. While the food is still the same middle of the road sausage and chili, that Toledo natives think is top notch, it’s clearly over priced and cheapened by an inferior beverage selection.

I was very impressed with this place. The waitress sat us at a dirty table, the waitress aplogized profusely and cleaned it. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. My mother and I ordered the fried pickles for an app. Those were very good, a little spicy and very thick pickle chips. Very hot, so it was right out of the fryer. Then I got a hot dog combo, with two hot dogs, chili and paprika dumplings. They were very good, it was odd to have the hot dog cut in half though. For dessert, we got the bread pudding. AMAZING. It was very very good and i highly recommend it. We will return for sure.

I enjoyed my meal today. The baked beans, onion rings and hot dogs are amazing. Lots of flavor. I also favored the chili. I like how it had a bit of a spicy kick to it. The server was very nice, attentive and kept our drinks coming and our table clean and in order. My daughter is a picky 7 year old and she enjoyed the nuggets and fries. We will definitely be back.

I guess I’m just use to the detroit coney. The cut in half dog is nice, but why do they only serve one half of the dog? The chili was good, but nothing special.

Not my favorite. Unless you’re looking for slop hotdogs before a mud hens game, wouldn’t recommend. Origins in toledo and quirky signed hot dogs on wall were only draw for this first time toledo traveler.

We came to Packos as huge M.A.S.H fans and from nostalgia as my dad always talked then up. The atmosphere was great and I was excited about the different options but I was disappointed in the food. My kids loved the hot dogs but my pulled chicken sandwich was obviously canned chicken. Soups were way salty and tasted canned as well. If you go stick to the dogs for sure. Our service was fantastic though

I am a huge Tony’s fan, but lunch today at this location was horrible. Chili Mac had little flavor and the kidney beans were hard. The fried pickles were undercooked leaving raw batter inside. Tables were so sticky that nothing slid on them. When walking in no one greeted us for about five minutes. The gift shop cashier just stood at the door and ignored us. Finally a tall man walked up and said it was cafeteria style and no server… odd because people behind us and in front of us were able to sit and order. We had to order from a counter will stale food in a steam table behind them. I’ll never go back here.

Great hot dogs. If you’re visiting Toledo, this is a must try! Try the original hot dog. Skip Rosa’s Hamburg unless you were born before 1975, in which case you may like it.

For a restaurant true to its roots this is five star. I go four because it is delightfully odd. It is Hungarian and true to the tastes of the country. Pickles doused in a thin ranch sauce might not be your cup of tea. If I had to sell online item on the menu it would be the pickles. The hot dogs(sausages really) are superb.

Stopped here for lunch after shopping at the Farmers Market. It has been awhile since I’ve been to Toy Paco’s, and I remembered them having good food. But this last visit was just OK. The food was nothing stellar, and a bit over priced.(Charged us $ 4 for a little serving of mediocre baked beans) The service was fast though and the staff was friendly.

I love Packos in all forms… at the park, original location and inside the Andersons, but tonight this one hit it out of the park. The summer shandy was perfect on draft, the fried pickles would be entitled to my first born and my sausage platter was filling and delicious. The server was friendly and prompt, and we had a great time.

I was more impressed with the overall service that the bartender gave us than the food. I must say, the entire bar area was jam packed and she was taking care of everyone — in particular she still managed to helped our table in a timely and polite manner and I was very impressed. As far as the food goes… I wasn’t very impressed with the famous Tony Packo’s dog. Maybe this is because I came from Detroit to try it, and there’s just nothing like an original Detroit style coney. I’ve heard mixed reviews about this place from friends & family so next time I go I plan to try something other than the TP Dog.

As they say, it is what it is. If you’ve watched Mash, you’ve heard about Tony Packo’s. It’s a hungarian hot dog place… and that’s about all. The Hot Dogs were good, but they are just hot dogs. I expected the hot dog sauce to be chili, but it definitely wasn’t…and I couldn’t tell you what it was even if I had a gun against my head. I’m not sure what it was. It’s decent for the experience of it, the hot dog buns signed on the wall, but don’t expect food that will knock your socks off.

I love baseball which means by default I’m also a fan of hot dogs. I also love a little TV show called M*A*S*H. So when I was planning a trip along northern Ohio, Toledo had to be a destination for both a Mud Hens game and a trip to Packo’s. After a brutally humid day outside with the Mud Hens, my travel partner and I made our way to Packo’s before our drive home. It may have been partly my delerium from the heat, but those were some mighty fine dogs! I even bought a couple packages to bring home. And of course I embarrassed myself by taking pictures of all the autographed buns… but not as much as when I mistakenly walked into the men’s room. If I lived closer I would definitely make Packo’s a regular stop on my way to Mud Hens games.
