Ugh where to start with this nightmare of a dining experience! Ate here one Saturday night recently and was told the wait would be about 30 to 45 minutes so we said ok no problem. We waited about a half hour and our name was called but then we had to wait almost 20 more minutes while the staff cleared the table and seated us. From there the service just kept getting worse. It took about another 30 to 40 mins for our food to arrive after ordering it. Well we were all starving at this point and dove right into our meals only to be halted right away when my friend husband found a very long hair in his mouth after taking a bite of his burger. Check please! No one could even eat their food at this point, completely grossed out. We asked the waitress for the check and showed her the hair. Her response was we can offer you $ 5 off! Really a whole $ 5? We paid and left in disgust. Horrible service and horrible food.

Atmosphere was good, clean. The food was delicious, but sadly, the service was lacking. Evening started out decent, but waited over an hour for our food. One of our guests got his meal 15 min before the others at our table; the rest of the meals came out staggered. The reason we were told our appetizers came out at the end was because the kitchen lost our ticket. We had to repeatedly ask the server for things we needed. My refill never came. We asked for to go box and check, only check came. And we had to ask for box again. We were one of three tables she had, larger parties showing up after we were finishing. The only time the server was attentive was when she was hovering to see how much of a tip she’d get as we signed the credit card receipt.

Average local bar with food and seats. Good chicken wings with many different types of flavors, although I prefer the boneless ones my self, but you don’t get a lot for the money. Beer is cheap, as expected. Unless your a Buffalo Bills fan, stay away when they are playing — as there tends to be a Bills mafia gathered at the bar.

The burgers are ok, everything else is below average and bland bar food. The prices do seem a dollar or two more expensive then most bars. It seems like none of the televisions are high def which is strange in this day and age. The only positive is the waitstaff as they seem pretty friendly.

This place makes me laugh. The only reason why I can fathom why this place has 3 stars is because the locals who reviewed tavern grill do not know good dining. I came here to eat lunch on my drive over to Maine. I would normally never find myself eating at a place like this but you don’t always get what you want in life. We came in and sat ourselves. Our server came over five minutes later. She provided poor service considering how empty the restaurant was. I wasn’t hungry so I decided on the small hot wings. I figured an American bar/restaurant couldn’t mess this dish up. Boy, was I wrong. The hot wings were poorly battered and barely had any glaze on it. The celery, you ask? I don’t even know if you can call it that. The«celery» was flaccid and more flexible than a newborn. I guess you can say I hated my experience here. Just another reason why I steer from restaurants like these

The food is hit or miss. Burgers were fine. Fried clams surprisingly ok. Wings were tasty but cold. Beer tasted like taps hadn’t been cleared in years. The bathrooms in the back(the whole area in the back) are dilapidated and dirty. Place has potential as Tolland needs a good tavern-like bar. It just doesn’t cut it as is.

Pretty good draft beer selection and the food is decent, not great, but there is a lot of variety. Kind of the only game in town as far as a bar to hang out at. For a quick lunch or a few drinks with friends it’s not bad. Service can suffer sometimes though. If you live in the area you’ve already gone to this place. If you’re passing through it’s not a bad stop. Other than that, I wouldn’t go out of the way.

Not surprised … This place is now closed! This review is for their new location in Ashford. I had been to their place in Tolland before they opened in Ashford. The food was typical pub fare, and the burgers were hand formed and pretty good. Both the food and drinks were pricy for what you got. I would have rated them 2 — 3 stars. Now on to the new Ashford location. The owner spent a ton of money on renovating the former Sneaker’s Bar and Grill. Since there are few options in Ashford, quite a few people were looking forward to the opening. I visited shortly after they opened and the place was pretty busy. However, the menu was extremely limited, no more hand formed burgers, and the prices high. $ 7.50 for a small glass of box wine(for my wife) and $ 9.00 for a well drink(for me)! I ordered a nacho plate; almost no cheese! I asked why and was told If I wanted more it was $ 2 extra. We visited 2 or 3 more times over the next couple of months; things got worst. I had a salad with sliced chicken. The lettuce was partially brown and wilted. The last time, there was only us and 2 other people there at 6:30PM. I doubt they will last more than a couple of more months.

Good wings, good burgers, good beer selection, sports bar atmosphere, TV’s everywhere, pool table in the back, outdoor seating as well, in a strip mall area, plenty of parking. Definitely a fan.

This place is pretty good if you are looking for a ‘sit at the bar and order a burger’ establishment. It’s a relaxed atmosphere. They offer some tasty specials and the kitchen is doing a fine job with the regular menu as well. Fries are yummy, and the sandwiches are always well prepared. When I’ve been there, it is generally busy but not crowded. My only bone to pick is the pricing. They don’t offer much for daily deals, and all burgers & sandwiches are $ 10 — not outrageous, but probably a buck more than your local chain.
