Came here because my mom was excited to show me a new restaurant. The décor is so cute and the staffmembers were very professional and kind. Our server was polite and attentive to our needs rven if she sometimes took a little longer(her section was pretty full). I order the salmon cake eggs benedict, which to my dismay had a very odd take on a hollandaise. It had an odd mexican flavoring to it which completely conflicted with the hollaindaise flavors. The salmon cake was however, bomb af(for lack of a better word). Also the«those potatoes» were bland which was a disappoint. I later ordered the chicken pot pie which was FANTASTIC and I’m glad I ordered it to go so I can make a mess of it. Also ordered a whole apple pie which are currently on sale! 4⁄5 for the lame eggs benedict but bless everything else.

For a family restaurant this is one of my favorite places to go. So far everything I’ve had, has been good and I’ve always gotten good service. My sister and I have come here several times to just sit, have coffee and talk about family stuff. They never once made us feel like we needed to hurry up.

One of the few places in the area to close at 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. My friend and I came here after walking around Torrance Candy Lane. Big, welcoming place, outdoor and indoor eating. Service was good and the resto was decorated for Christmas and clean. We sat in a booth we shared a Beefeater sandwich — oven roasted beef, melted Swiss cheese on grilled parmesan sourdough for 11.99. It came with a choice of fries, onion rings, cole slaw or fresh fruit. Our waiter Miguel even served each half on different plate. I didn’t like the onion rings but it was a good, very filling sandwich. I LOVED the crusted Parmesan cheese on the sourdough bread. Next time I would get the cole slaw or fruit. The bathrooms are clean. Outside there are cute framed throwback pictures of surfers and sunbathing women. I would come back for more if I’m in the area and try dessert next time cuz they sure looked delish! Prices are fair, ample Parking spaces in lot. Great way to end a cool night!

Thanksgiving morning, here to pick up my holiday pies. They were ordered for a 7 am pick up and at 8am(when I show up) I am told they won’t be ready until after 10 am!!! No apology-just come back later. No one has anything to do on Thanksgiving Day but drive back and forth to Hofs Hut!!! Worst service EVER!!!

Pretty good food! A little pricy but good! The chicken pot pie was good especially for a cold day after church Place was busy and our waitress kind of left us thirsty and she disappeared after she brought us our food. We just finally gave up and had to flag down someone ;”(other then that place was ok

Love the food! I’ve had the burgers, breakfast, and even the ribs once, even though I don’t eat pork. And not eating meat anymore, for that matter. But, I digress. I’ve the food! You should definitely eat here if you like any of the types of foods they have on their menu. Just don’t be in a hurry. I would’ve rated 4 stars except that EVERY time I eat in, I have to end up waiting an unreasonable amount of time for someone to take my money when I’m done eating. At least two or three times, I’ve had to go up to the counter myself to get someone to process my payment. It’s my pet peeve. When I’m ready to leave, I wanna GTFO as soon as possible. Still, as I stated before, it’s a good place. And the employees are always really friendly.

Call me crazy, but this place is insanely priced? Kings makes a much better breakfast with a lot more food for the price. I am only rating this on a breakfast, but I am sure that I will not be returning. The omelette was filled with vegetable la to a point where I actually lost the eggs. The hash was decent and the pumpkin bread was good enough to bring it up to a solid 3.

Standard breakfast stuff. We shared an omelette and French toast. Nothing about it that would make me come back. They stuck us in a dark booth next to the register and restroom which is high traffic and unpleasant when there were plenty of other tables.

Service was great! Food not so good. I had the Baby back rips $ 24.00 the loaded mash potatoes were so thick you could stand a fork in them. The cream corn it was creamy cold. The corn bread I had to use a spoon to eat it. Fell apart while I was trying to eat it. Not happy for the price it cost. Now I remember why I don’t go there very much.

It’s hard to believe this place could this bad. The servers were not attentive and did not care about our table. They weren’t rude, however they forgot about us plenty of times. My food came out very late. Also the quality of my food was poor.

I’m sorry, Hof’s. Your servers are so nice, and I have really good memories here because of good company, but the food leaves much to be desired.

I was actually a huge fan of Hof’s Hut. A friend and I came in for brunch on a Saturday morning. The restaurant was super busy but managed to get us a booth inside within 10 minutes of our arrival. I was also impressed by the hostess’ ability to do damage control when a group of three elderly women(who walked in right before us and requested a table outside) started complaining about the«long wait»(it had been approximately 8 minutes). The hostess and server cleared a table and got them seated immediately. I had the Salmon Benedict(I may be missing a part of the full name) with hash browns and a bottomless iced coffee. I didn’t feel to hot afterwords, but I blame that on my decision to inhale a plate of greasy delicious Benedict with nothing in my stomach after a night of drinking. Would definitely visit again and probably will because I’m dying to try the cinnamon roll french toast :)

HOF’S HUT!!! I had driven by this place a few times on my way to PV Bowl, and each time, I was completely mesmerized by the funky sign. I finally decide to stop in and, boy, am I glad I did! The food is pretty primo for diner food. I ordered the ‘Good Earth’ with chicken noodle soup and sweet potato fries; my guest got the chicken club and hot wings; and mimosas for the table! They have freshly squeezed OJ, so they’re extra delicious. Their bakery display case is insane… I can’t wait to try EVERYTHING in it. I love the outdoor/greenhouse-style seating area and can imagine it is quite soothing to sit out there on a rainy day. Tons of fun old-timers to watch, too! :)

Crap. Waited an hour for our breakfast on a Monday. When the food finally came, it was cold like it had been sitting out for awhile. Server was rude and inconsiderate. I’d hate to see what they are like on a busy Saturday morning. Do not recommend.

I never thought in a million years I would ever go to a place called Hoff’s Hut, but my step-dad had a coupon and really he likes the place. We got there around 5:30 on a Wednesday and it was pretty quiet. The décor reminds me a little of an old school Marie Calendars since there is a bakery case and the walls are covered with Wainscot. Everything is a bit tattered and tired looking, and could use a paint job. So the hostess was very professional, as she quickly greeted us and walked us slowly to our table. I thought that was nice since it is pretty common that the host/hostess dash off into the dining room like the road runner at a lot of other places. She waited until were seated and handed us the menus as well as told us about the soups of the day, like cheddar broccoli and something else. The waiter came out pretty quick to take our drink orders with a half hearted attempt to sell us zucchini sticks. We opted out of the appetizer. So I had the half rack of ribs since that was the thing to order at Hoff’s Hut and my step dad had the same thing with a side salad. The menu was very clear that the salad was extra but the waiter made a big deal to tell us, «uh, by the way the salad is and extra charge of blah blah blah.» Anyway, most entrees come with two sides like cream corn(GMO heaven), loaded potatoes, fries, rice, and for a .99 cents upcharge sweet potato fries. You also get a choice of garlic bread(made on the griddle), zucchini bread, and something else. I made a big deal to the tell the waiter, «yes, I am ordering the yam fries well knowing and in a sound state of mind that they are an additional .99 cents. So they have some service tricks. They push the iced tea and lemonade on you since they handily have little carafes pre-filled to drop at the table. So the food comes out and the sweet potato fries were on the soggy limp side like most hand cut sweet potato fries and the steamed veggies were like blah. I had to dump a butter pack on them to eat them. The griddle cooked garlic bread was pretty good since I could taste that they recently cooked some bacon on that griddle. Lastly, the ribs did fall off the bone and were tender but the BBQ sauce was OK. I have had better BBQ at other places in the South Bay, which was a shame since this was allegedly their signature dish. Anyway, they have a lot of seating, can accommodate large groups, and have a large parking lot. I am giving Hoff’s Hut only 3 and half stars as I was disappointment that I did not see the Hoff.

I have been MIA on Unilocal for too long. If you notice I had a horrible review of Hof’s Hut on December 30, 2014. That sort of cooled my desire for presenting reviews. After that experience a representative of Hof’s hut contacted me and sent, via snail mail, a gift certificate. On January 12th of this year I took an alternate route home on Crenshaw Blvd. I spied another Hof’s Hut, that peaked my interest. It has its own parking lot and is a free standing restaurant. Not located in a row or strip like the location I visited last December. A few days later I asked my girl friend out for dinner. We decided to give Hof’s another chance. I rarely have good luck with second chances, however after being intrigued about their Torrance location, I decided to give them another try. We both ordered their chicken walnut salads. These items were made to perfection. This experience was enhanced by the layout of this restaurant. Large booths widely spaced apart. While many of their customers were of the 55+ variety, everyone seemed to be having a good time. I server was somewhat mechanical, however as the evening progressed she became engaging, and seemed to be truly interested in our having a pleasant experience. While I plan to return, I have since discovered their Los Alamitos location. I have visited this location twice in the last two weeks, and found it to be as delightful as their Crenshaw Blvd. Restaurant. This makes three visits to a Hof’s Hut restaurant this year. I admit that I have always ordered their Chicken Walnut salad, as I don’t want to mess with success. Moreover I found this meal to be of great value and in my opinion fairly priced. This salad comes with a delightful mixture of fruit and vegetable. The mandarin oranges, truly make this salad a meal and dessert all in one. The resulting blend of ingredients are well balanced, and I found both locations to prepare this dish to perfection. Unfortunately neither locations are close to the Pike area of Long Beach. However, I find the 25 to 45 minute drive time well spent. In fact, I am making myself hungry as I prepare this review.

My uncle and I came in here on a Sunday afternoon and we had a birthday coupon where you buy a dinner and get one free. What a deal… be sure to sign up. We both got top sirloin steaks with vegetables, baked potatoes and garlic bread. And it even comes with a little piece of cake to top it off. The steaks were really good and were nice and juicy. The service was great and the waitress was super nice about the coupon. We both had left overs to take home. We’ll be back again soon.

My favorite pie from here is the fresh peach pie during the summer and the perfect time for my birthday pie. I prefer this if given a choice between a cake or a pie but didn’t get one this year. The other night my friend had a BOGO birthday coupon so we made it over to Torrance for an early dinner. I had the rotisserie half chicken dinner which is available from 4:00 p.m. and it was described as juicy and tasty so I wanted to experience it as it was 4:30 and should be perfectly cooked. Well, I was not impressed although everything looked good on the plate, the chicken itself was rather dry and lacked flavor. I will order something else the next time or just go there for the fresh peach pie… yummmmmm Extra point for dark woods and holiday décor and the many waiters we had… for some reason we had the first one go on her break and then there were three more that came around to check on us. Great job everyone!

Had a nice walk down from the Acura dealership with the wife before eating here. Seated promptly, friendly servers, pretty low key. TORTILLASOUP This was decent, nice broth, kinda spicy, shredded cheese and chips was a nice touch. CINNAMONROLLFRENCHTOAST Ah yes, cinnamon rolls and French toast… together at last. Basically a bakery fresh cinnamon roll dipped in batter and grilled a golden brown, served with hot syrup and whipped butter. Two eggs and two bacon strips for a complete balanced breakfast. Standard eggs and bacon, both just right… the cinnamon roll French toast was just a tad bit dry but that was easily remedied with the butter and syrup… hot, sticky, sweet and pretty damn good. If you’re in the area definitely check this place out.
