Stopped by the area for a late lunch and decided to go here. The kung pao chicken was on point and spicy. And if you need to kick it up a notch there were 3 other chili sauces you could add at your table. The teri chicken was a good way to tone down the spice if you need a break from it. I will be back to this place believe that.

I’m usually picky when it comes to Chinese food but I have to say this place was pretty good. Definitely recommend it. Clean place & friendly staff. I will be coming here again especially since it’s about 5 minutes away from my job.

I am here on business and was close by… As I walked in Girls said hello when I walked in door. Friendly fast service. I ordered some extra items so did not mind waiting… They gave me extra order of egg rolls for the extra time it took… Good was good! Will be back

I’ve been here a few times now and I am never dissappointed. Clean restaurant, polite employees, they are always welcoming my 2 free egg roll offer. I always take to go after shopping at Walmart:).

Food was Ok, the girl behind counter was rude did not want to take my $ 10 bill. She did not like beacuse it was old. slapped change back into my hand. Other places will take my money. No reason to go back for me. Too many choices.

The food is ok however, the service is terrible. I keep coming back because its close to work and the food is ok. Every time I walk in the place I’m hit with an immediate and unsettling feeling of chaos. Between trying to hurry people through as fast as they can and upselling every customer, there isn’t a lot of listening going on. The women serving the food and running the register are one in the same. They are rude and don’t wear plastic gloves. One day while I was ordering, another customer brought her order back to the counter because there was a hair in her food. The customer was blonde and the hair was black. I was in the middle of my order when all of the women(including the one helping me) at the counter starting arguing with the blonde lady that it was her hair. Not sure if I’ll keep coming here.

I am kind of picky when it comes to going to Chinese take out. This place is in my top 5 places i enjoy going. The service in this place is very fast, and always personable. I love the food here. The food is always fresh, and has such as high turn around especially at lunch time, that you know its going to be good. I have come here at lunch time, and at at dinner. Both times of the day are perfect time. Hot food, excellent service, and excellent flavors. Best part about this place, you can order special made dishes. If you do not see what you want in the trays out front. They have no problems making it for you. Highly recommend this place. Every person I have told about this place including my VERY picky GF has loved this place.

I can’t write a review for everything they have, because well, I always get the same thing. Okay, pretty much. Generally, we get Wonton Soup. It is very flavorful and is packed with veggies, wontons, Shrimp and a little pork. The large is filling, but you don’t finish feeling all bloated. If I had to change something, I would cut the cabbage smaller. We also get a side of the bbq pork spare ribs. Very tasty and not to tough. I have also gotten the hot and sour soup. It is just how it is supposed to be. It is pretty thick though. I have tried the orange chicken and it is okay. The Egg Rolls are really crispy, but I would say that it is just because they are over cooked. The staff is friendly and it doesn’t take to long. For fast food chinese, you should give it a try.

If you’re looking for fast-food to go Hong Kong Express seems like a good choice, the food isn’t too bad. I usually just get a 2 item combo and it fills me right up. I always feel like I’m getting what I paid for. The reason why I only give 2 stars is because of the staff/employees at the counter, not all of them are friendly. One of them in particular has a terrible pretentious attitude, I’m the paying customer so why do I feel like I am being judged for ordering food? When I was eating my food she was doing everything but taking orders and going back and forth flirting around with the workers. I even experienced a(boss lady?) yelling at her workers. Reminds me of the way back when of slavery when the owners would yell and abuse their slaves and think this not an environment I want to eat in. Maybe if they fix the service I’ll consider coming back.

This is nice place to eat. It reminds me of Panda Express only more authentic; less commercial.

really friendly staff and a great bargain! Has the quality of panda express but more food more options and for significantly cheaper. A two entrée combo could feed a village. Perfect for if you’re in the mood for greasy chinese food and want a little bit of everything. Their jalapeño chicken is effectively spicy and worth trying. yummm

I was in the mood for some quick and simple Chinese food, so I decided to stop into Hong Kong Express for a two item combo. I was greeted by an employee who wasn’t pleasant and seemed to be counting down the minutes until her shift ended. However, I proceeded to order a half and half order of chow mein, fried rice, barbecue pork and orange chicken. The employee asked if I wanted anything else, so I decided to throw in an order of egg rolls. I was able to pay with my debit card(they accept both MasterCard and Visa now without a fee). I took my order to go and headed home, looking forward to a delicious dinner. However, I would immediately regret ever stepping foot into Hong Kong Express. The chow mein was dry, the fried rice was flavorful but the vegetables within it were as hard as rocks as if they never seen a heat source, the orange chicken was soggy and the barbecue pork was completely burnt. I thought that the saving grace would be the egg rolls but they were also soggy and filled with oil instead of chicken. I will most likely never return to this location and have added it to my lengthy list of disgusting and/or mediocre Chinese food within the Gardena/Torrance area. I guess the next time that I am in the mood for Chinese food then I should either head to Los Angeles or just go on Pinterest, search for recipes and cook my own chow mein and fried rice!

Skip this place. They put rice under my orange chicken as filler. I paid for 2 entrees not one and a half. And some of the chicken was cold. Plenty of other places to eat near by try one of those. No value here.

No kidding about the ‘Secret Menu’ of this place! Their ‘secret’ spicy HK fried rice and spicy HK special chow mein, once seen and tasted, will put all the Chinese fast food joints and many fine restaurants to shame. I highly recommend skipping the hot food trays and ordering from the menu.

Sometimes a man craves greasy, cheap«Chinese» food with tons of MSG. To my surprise this place isn’t too bad. Chow mein noodles are OK, they aren’t extremely thick and dark-orange looking. Fried rice is also OK. I’ve only had chicken teriyaki as my entrée… chicken teriyaki did resemble and taste like chicken… unlike some other $ 5 dollar chinese fast food joints. Overall, it is cheap food, with«ok» quality that fills any craving for cheap chinnese food.

One of my coworkers suggested this place. Thought I would try it. DELICIOUS! I forgot the actual names of what I had but it was something pork, orange chicken and I believe noodles. So good! Larger servings than panda express and tasted even better! Also was more affordable than Panda Express. The service was also fast and friendly. I will come back for sure!

came here for lunch on a Wednesday. It was really busy but the employees were very attentive. I’m going vegetarian and they had steamed vegetables that tasted amazing! The vegetables where not over cooked or under cooked and I had them over a bed of rice. Perfection! It hit the spot for some Chinese food. I will come back for it. I didn’t taste anything else but all of the meat dishes looked appetizing.

This restaurant is located in a building that has about 4 – 5 businesses in it. There’s this Hong Kong Express, Subway, Sushi Boy, and Great Steak and Potato food places as well as a cell phone store. So, the parking is shared among all these businesses as well as the Office Depot at the opposite end of the parking lot. During lunch time, it is super difficult to find parking! So, go a little early or a little later to avoid the crowds. There was a short line when we walked in at 11AM. It didn’t take very long for us to order our food and be on our way. We took it to go. They were very efficient and friendly! They happened to not have Mongolian Beef today, but they usually do. The food itself was more or less like any Chinese«Fast Food». Not a ton of flavor, but edible! I particularly like the jalapenos they added to several of their dishes! In the past, I have tried their hot sour soup and it is quite good! I enjoyed the free eggroll that I got with the Unilocal Check-In! It was hot and crisp! It is quite inexpensive to eat here. We ordered 3 combos(1&2 entrees), eggrolls, and a large drink and the tab was $ 21.87. If I am not in the mood for a Philly Cheesesteak or Sushi, then I would definitely eat here again when I am nearby!
