Been here many times. A fine family run establishment. Seems as if the Mother runs a «tight ship». The staff is always attentive and friendly. We have had specially good service from Eva. The food here is very consistent and by this I mean consistently good! Always comes to the table nice and hot. Their guacamole is also excellent. They have great prices at happy hour as well. This restaurant is also quite large they have many tables for seating as well as a banquet room. We highly recommend El Tap!!!

Being Mexican and eating at this new place was disappointing. I usually go to La Villa where it does not look so nice but the food is good. I ordered the combo plate,(enchilada taco beans and rice). The beans were very bland and they hardly give you any rice and there was hardly any meat in my enchilada. The meat in my taco was very also dry. To make it worse our waitress Jessica(older women with blonde hair), was rude and not personable. Jessica hardly checked in on us and never gave us any water. I am a big tipper and will tip 25 percent, and over look the food if the services is on point. So Jessica only got a 10 percent tip for her dry stone face service. The only 2 things I liked about this place and that is its open til 1am so if you want to party and eat some bland food you can come here! But most importantly the young lady«bus girl» Alejandra who came and got our credit card was very personable, down to earth, well matter and sweet. We were pretty mad, for being ignored for so long and the food not that good, but Alejandra saved the evening with her awesome attitude! I cannot understand why she is NOT a waitress then vs. someone dry as Jessica who is rude with an angry look on her face and ignores you? I give this place only 2 stars only because Alejandra made the tail end of the experience happy otherwise I would give this place no stars if I could. If you like bland Mexican food and small portions with added rude services(Jessica) then come here. Otherwise I recommend the NOT so pretty place down the street La Villa that close at 9pm, but their food is good, tasty not dry and big plates!

This is our favorite Mexican food in Tracy! The food is absolutely delicious, especially the enchiladas verdes and the veggie tacos. My boyfriend always gets the grilled chicken chimichanga and it is literally filled with chicken. The waitresses are friendly and prompt and the front door people are nice. We always look forward to coming here!

El Tapatio is a good neighborhood-type place to eat. The food is good, the portions generous and, if you go at happy hour, margarita’s are 2 for the price of 1. Two for 1 margaritas seem to taste twice as good. There are plenty of menu choices to pick from including chicken, beef, pork, fish & shrimp dishes. There are the old favorites as well as some harder to find selections. Service is cordial, prices very fair. El Tapatios is our preferred sit-down Mexican-style restaurant in Tracy.

This is the ‘go to’ spot. I’ve been coming to this place for years. The food is consistently good; I haven’t had a meal here that I didn’t enjoy. The staff are friendly, especially the owner. Nice family environment. Can accommodate larger parties… and they even have an upstairs room that can be rented… recently found out about that. My favorites here are their homemade super crunchy taco shells, wet super burrito and enchiladas with green sauce. This is a Tracy staple for me. I’d be lost without them!

Came here for Tracy Chamber of commerce mixer luncheon. This is not my first time here, but it’s my first review for them. This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the city, and I was happy to hear that this was where the mixer was being held. As always the food was fresh and delicious, and the service is always excellent. All the staff is very friendly and knowledgable about the menu, and they always have great lunch specials. This wasn’t my first time there, and it won’t be my last. If you haven’t dined with them, be sure to check them out. You won’t be disappointed.

Love this place! They have shredded. beef! Their rice and beans are authentic. Full bar and the lemon drop martinis are really good. Mariachis on Friday and Saturday in the bar.. Service is terrific. Prices are great! Nice atmosphere for a nice dinner out. Will be back again and again!

Love this place! One of my favorite Mexican places to eat, other than my moms kitchen(which no one beats). The food is great and you get a lot for what the price is. I wouldn’t say it’s 100% authentic, but for what I have tried its not bad, my favorite is the hard taco and flautas as well as Jorge’s Especial. On top of that, I’ve never waited to be seated, but maybe I’ve never gone when it wasn’t busy? But anyways… The reason I gave a 4⁄5 was because of the service. It’s never consistent. When I go with my family, it’s usually for a celebration and my best friends or boyfriend tag along, let’s just say we end up being a party of 9+, and as one can imagine this story can end up two ways, great service or service that’s wasn’t great, at all. We always give more than a 20% tip because of the fact that we are a handful, but they have never deserved it, I have always been tempted to leave just a dollar. And it’s only been great one out of the 10+ times I’ve gone these past 6 years. The servers usually have a flat affect and rarely check up on you. The one time I went that I thought it was good was when my boyfriend and I went by ourselves, and either the server was genuinely usually kind, or she figured she would get a good tip… Also! The drinks are HEAVILY served, if you know what I mean(taste like straight up shots)

Never had a bad experience here… we live in Tracy and have eaten there many times! I love their enchiladas! Every time we have gone we’ve been seated right away and been given chips and salsa. I’m pleased with the pricing as well.

My friend, who also lives in Tracy, and I decided to meet up for dinner one night. My daughter had just finished baseball practice, so it was about 8PM on a Tuesday night. There were some people in the restaurant, but it wasn’t full by any means. They had to set up a table, which took a few minutes when we checked in. Finally, we were seated. When you walk in, the dining room is to the left, there is a bar straight ahead and I believe there is an upstairs? Maybe I’m just making that up… but I could have sworn there were stairs. Anyways, we were seated in the main dining area. I was catching up with my friend, the waitress came by a couple times to ask if we were ready to order, which we weren’t. Their menu is huge! And they have pictures to accompany most of the dishes, so I looked at almost everything. Nothing sounded really amazing to me… it wasn’t their restaurant, I was just in one of those«I don’t know what I feel like» moods. I went for my default Mexican food order: chicken crunchy tacos, no lettuce. I went for the combo plate that came with the beans and rice. My friend ordered some plate with meat and a red sauce with rice and beans. My daughter wasn’t really hungry, but the waitress said that kid’s ate free that night. She decided to go with chicken and french fries, LOL. The food was served in a timely manner. We were catching up, so it didn’t really matter if the food was served quickly or not. I actually really liked my tacos. I mean, they weren’t anything amazing, don’t get me wrong, but they were pretty good for crunchy tacos. My friend’s dish was actually pretty good too. I tried a bite of it and I love the red«ranchero» sauce that they used on it. I could eat that stuff over rice all day, everyday. For the amount of food that you receive, the prices are fine. The building and interior feels a bit dated, but maybe that’s why people keep coming back. Maybe it feels like their grandma’s house… comfortable. After driving by here a couple hundred times, I’m happy to have finally tried it out. I can see why people like this place. If I am in need of a sit down Mexican restaurant, I’ll be sure to come back to Jorge’s…maybe try something different next time.

Overall, had a decent experience. Came here on a Sunday night and it wasn’t too crowded. Servers were nice but very slow. I ordered the enchiladas with mole sauce and my boyfriend ordered the hay caramba chicken quesadilla. Food was tasty and had lots of flavor. Is it worth the price? Not entirely. We could drive down the street and get the same portion size for half the price. I would come again just because the food tasted good, but nothing I would want to come back every week for.

My rating is solely on the customer service. Was not happy at all. Took the waiter roughly about 15⁄20 minutes to order our drinks after being seated. It then took another 15 minutes to get our drinks and another 20 minutes to order our food. Waited a lot pretty much.

I love this place the drink meñu is very creative and the servers are super friendly. I’ve never seen this place empty, everytime I go there’s always a good crowd. My boyfriend always gets the pescado frito, which is a huge cob fish and it comes with rice and beans. I’m pretty sure this is the only place you get something like this in Tracy and it’s a reasonable price. Happy hour is my favorite time to go :)

I was brought here on a Monday night, on my birthday no less! My previous experiences with their food had been only adequate, but choices were limited on a Monday. I had seen their fried whole fish served before, which had looked good, so decided to try it. Mistake! The fish came out burned in places in the underside, too deeply fried to eat any of the skin, with the fish itself terribly dry! I’m sorry, it should not have left the kitchen that way! Inedible. Service was poor – brought wrong kind of margarita, not much apology. Had to ask twice for water(needed to wash down the dry fish!) So I survived with a few bites of decent crab enchilada from husbands plate, chewed a tortilla piece, and waited to leave! Mysteriously, Mex food in Tracy is not stellar, but geez! I will vigorously resist returning. PBJ would have been preferable, sigh. Avoid!!! B

I ate here about a month ago while I was in Tracy and I was not disappointed. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with the green sauce and there was definitely s lot of flavor. I will definitely come back when I am in town again. The customer service was great too! They have a friendly staff. This place is a must go to. Also the food that my family ordered as well looked delicious too! They were happy with their food too of course. Again, great Mexican restaurant.

In my opinion this is the best Mexican food in Tracy and some of the best Carne Asada tacos that I enjoy. It’s a bit of an odd old building in downtown Tracy. There really aren’t any architectural marvels in Tracy so this shouldn’t shock anyone. But it is in an easy location and easy to find. It has a decent sized dining area and a small bar. There is an upstairs room I believe is for large groups, never been up there. You get your standard chips and salsa when you show up here. The salsa is consistently good and has a nice tangy flavor. The chips are okay but the salsa and beans make them good. I pretty much always eat the carne Asada tacos here because of it ain’t broke I’m not fixing it. The bar makes some nice margaritas and always has cold Pacifico for me. The happy Hour specials are always nice, $ 2 Mexican beers. Solid four star restaurant. Good food, good service, consistent. It won’t knock your socks off or wow you with how it looks but I’ve never gone wrong there.
