Food was barely cooked, and had no flavor. Of my $ 8 breakfast I ate three pieces of decent bacon, and two pieces of bread that I think was meant to be toast. Would not recommend coming here at all.

Only complaint: it was quite chilly inside! Food was amazing. Stan Jr omelette is TADIEFOR. Corned beef hash is a must. Homemade wheat toast was even a hit. Real cream served with the coffee was appreciated. Was glad to find another good breakfast spot in TC when we visit.

Rounds was recommended to us by a bartender at a local, fine dining establishment. He said it’s his«go to» place for breakfast and walking distance from his house. He was absolutely correct in describing Rounds as having huge portions of beautifully cooked basics like pancakes, omelettes and the best corned beef hash! Service was prompt, cheerful and I love a place that plunks down a whole pot of coffee on the table.

I have found my fav breakfast place here. Had no wait at all, place was jamming. Yes, it’s small & yes, you may run into waiting but boy o boy I would wait for an hour to have those eggs Benedict again. The best breakfast food ever. Ask for the waitress Kayla, best n town from the food to the company… Only had breakfast, I’ll have to stop n and try lunch next time. My new«go to» breakfast place n TC. Don’t forget and ask to sit n Kayla’s section, she’s a gem.

Only one star because our waitress was so nice Coffee was pretty much the worst we have ever tasted and 39.00 at a diner for 2 people for bfast is outrageous

Let’s get one thing straight: I LOVE pancakes. You ever see the episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch where Sabrina gets addicted to pancakes? That is me in a parallel universe. Anyway, Rounds has the BEST pancakes i have ever eaten. They’re dense, yet still fluffy and just the right amount of moistness. I could probably eat stacks on stacks of them… Our group loved this place so much that we ended up eating here two days in a row, just because there were so many good-looking things on the menu. Our waitresses looked a little bit frazzled, but we were also there on a weekend so it was probably a lot busier than if we’d gone during the week. Still, THOSEPANCAKES. One more thing — if you get toast, ask to have it made with the homemade bread. EXCELLENT. You can also buy loaves of the homemade bread too!

It’s where the locals go to breakfast so you know it’s good. Funny little diner with friendly staff, small space it got busy fast, great portions and great breakfast food. Had the pumpkin pancakes which were excellent

I love little diners, especially those that are off the beaten path, so I really, really wanted to like this one. It started out promising; the young man at the cash register was pleasant and understood when I said I didn’t want to sit at the counter because I’m short & it’s hard for me to balance. I only waited a few minutes for a booth in the side room. The décor was cute & kitschy, the server was very friendly, and they gave me a whole large pot of coffee, just for myself! So far, so good. I was boring and ordered eggs with a hamburger patty and pancakes. When the server asked how I wanted the eggs, I was very explicit that I wanted them well done, dry, starting to get brown, not wet. And then I waited. And waited. And waited. I ended up drinking the entire pot of coffee. After FORTY(40!) minutes, my breakfast FINALLY arrived. And the eggs were wet, but I was hungry by then, so I didn’t want to send them back. The hamburger patty had a funny taste and I decided it was probably wise not to finish it. The pancakes were fine but nothing special. Such a disappointment. I will do as one of the locals suggested and go to The Omelette Shoppe tomorrow.

Great local breakfast place! Normal food items for kids with easy atmosphere. Definitely need bigger water glasses if you thirsty and French Toast a bit buttery… Veggie Omelette awesome! Would come back

Great breakfast. Service was good, need to ask for a bigger water if your a heavy drinker. The omelette was fantastic!(Couldn’t even finish it all.) the biscuits and gravy were avg but the rest of the meal was fantastic! Wife got the he-man breakfast and loved it. We are from out of town, but will definitely be back next time we are in TC.

Don’t judge the book by its cover on this one. Excellent food. The best breakfast I’ve had in years.

One can’t go wrong with Round’s. The staff is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is simple, traditional, and authentic. The prices are reasonable. And the fare is delicious. I strongly recommend the hash. Round’s is a local institution, mostly overlooked by the tourist crowd. The clientele spans all walks of life, from landscapers to judges, doctors to retirees. The counter usually has half a dozen random folks eating and chatting while the rest of the restaurant orbits at an increasingly frantic pace as the day proceeds. Try to arrive early, and remember they close before dinner time.

We were on another vacation in TC and looking to try a me breakfast restaurant from our standard, The Omelette Shoppe and found Rounds. Not a bad breakfast restaurant and the locals appear to like it, but we didn’t have a the best experience. Besides the front counter seating, they only have two small side seating areas. We were in the bigger of the two. Even at that, there was a a group of 13 people that were so noisy that my wife and I couldn’t even hear each other speak to each other across the table. Additionally I love corned beef hash and they said they made it homemade there at the restaurant. I was really looking forward to it so I ordered the omelette with corned beef hash inside. The corned beef hash was loaded with potatoes but had few and tiny shreds of corn beef. Very disappointing! Overall I might try them again sometime but at this point there are several better choices.

We come to Traverse City often and just stumbled across this awesome mom and pop shop. It appears we found the local legend that the locals keep to their selves. It had great homemade food, authentic corn beef and hash and their homemade bread was hearty! I’d recommend this to any non pretentious, food loving, healthy atmosphere seeking person.

This place is a tiny breakfast/lunch joint that is off the main road to TC. I love it here it is a good old fashioned diner. They have great coffee that is constantly refilled and a breakfast bar with cute 1970’s stools. I have the red velvet corned beef hash it was amazing! It was red potatoes with onions and spices then their corned beef was tossed in. I added a little hot sauce. It was great the corned beef is amazing. My husband go an omelet with cream cheese in it that looked amazing just not my thing. He said it was tasty and very filling. I cannot wait to go back and try some more good old diner food.

We had coffee and breakfast here, and it cost close to 20 bucks. Oh, and we shared something. Besides that, the quality of the food was severely lacking. The biscuits were doughy, and almost tough. The gravy was floury — too much so. If it sat for long enough(a few minutes) it became stiff and gluey, and the texture was just off. The flavor did not carry the strange texture. We tried this dish with ham, hash brown casserole and eggs over medium. The eggs were the best part. While I am grateful the ham was real, it was tough as nails. The casserole on the other hand was not crispy — mushy, like it had been sitting for too long. Flavor was good — wish it had not been doughy. Or wish it had been done. Bleh. I have had better at waffle house, which doesn’t exist here, for much cheaper. Extremely disappointed.

Great place a few blocks from the riverfront. Seems to get local clientele and great word of mouth guests. Food was very good. Portions are generous. Breakfast is a comfort meal sometimes and this is high on the scale of hometown comfort. Stan’s Big breakfast was terrific. Lets just say I don’t need lunch today.

Great local place to have breakfast. The food tends to take a long time, even when there are few people there. The eggs were fine, the corned beef hash is good and the home made toast is amazing. However the next day we tried for lunch and it was very strange. I ordered a steak sandwich and received a palm sized piece of «meat» on a piece cold, white bread. I asked to have the French dip, instead. Though there was only one other couple in the restaurant, it still took long after my boyfriend, ate his sandwich and finished two cups of coffee, before I got mine. It might have something to do with how everyone, cooks and waitresses included, constantly sneaking out the back… TOSMOKE. I will be back… but will never deviate from the breakfast menu again.
