Thank you again Unilocal for helping us find a gem of a restaurant. We have been vacationing in this area for years but would have never thought to look for a Cajun seafood restaurant in a strip mall in Treasure Island. It was excellent. Shrimp bisque — terrific. Boiled shrimp — hot with drawn butter — outstanding. My husbands grits, shrimp and andouille sausage — oh my gosh — I wanted to eat that too. Finished with beignets — freshly fried with plenty of powdered sugar. Our server was so nice as was the owner. We will definitely be back to try their varied breakfast menu.

This place is a must do when you’re near Tampa/St Pete. Great food! Fresh seafood that does not disappoint! I had the amazing shrimp and grits(shrimp were perfectly cooked and grits fantasticly seasoned) and my wife had the pot-roast(she doesn’t do seafood). She loved it. The horseradish mashed potatoes put the dish over the top. Our server asked my oldest son(12) if he was daring and wanted to try something wild. She brought him two types of grits and he loved both! He said it was his favorite part of the night. The food is great and definitely worth the stop but the staff made the night for us.

Loved loved loved this place. Pulling up I didn’t think I would at all, def a hole in the walk but it’s just a hidden gem. You could hear the Jazz outside why you walked up. My hubby and I went on Friday night for a date night. Not a lot of seating, small place but we sa at the bar and it was great. I had a pure sugarcane coke which was a little to sweet but good. My hubs had the 45oz beer sampler and was pretty happy with his choice. His favorite beer was not the reef donkey, lol, but was the little joe oatmeal stout. Tasted like coffee grinds in beer if you ask me… For dinner he ordered a Po Boy sandwich which was huge and full of shrimp came with coleslaw and French fries. I ordered the spinach salad with hot bacon vinaigrette. It was really good. The vinaigrette was excellent. I also had a half pound of shrimp steamed with Cajun spices. I had them cold and they were great. Perfectly seasoned and cooked. This place is so good we went for breakfast the next morning!

I broke my own rule of «when at the beach you must eat seafood with a beach view». I’m so glad I did! This place is a gem, hidden in plain sight. Our server Alyssa was fantastic and made some great recommendations. Food was reasonably priced, plentiful, and delicious. Be sure to try the Roll Tide Shrimp and Grits.

Great food and great service. Love the shrimp bisque and the deluxe baby spring mix with their house dressing. Love their breakfast, the bread is awesome as well as the grits. The beignets are totally awesome! If you’ve never had them, order them.

Great local place with fantastic seafood. It is small, so large parties could be hard here. I had the Langustino shrimp and it was SOGOOD! My husband has the Cuban and cleaned his plate. Would recommend this place to other Treasure Island visitors for sure.

Shrimpy’s may be a little TOO good! They have such great food, yesterday we saw them literally turning people away. Having eaten there last night, I totally understand why! Everything we had was DELICIOUS! The fried pickles were the perfect combination of crunchy, salty, pickely! The kids shrimp and fries was enough to fill an adult and the drink, the Beach Lemonade(a nice take off on a Long Island Ice Tea) while it wasn’t as tasty, it more than made up for it in potency and price($ 4.99!!!). For the record, if you’re a non pork eater like me, you CAN order the shrimp and grits without the bacon and Andouille sausage. Even without it, the dish was amazing! This is a must eat place if you’re visiting Treasure Island!

I was on the hunt for Bloody Mary’s and ended up in treasure island. I saw the reviews and definitely thought this place would be great for breakfast. They open at 9 and I got their at 845am so I had time to spare. I strolled the surrounding area for a bit. After strolling I go to Shrimpys and enter the area heading to the bar. I was immediately greeted by the lady standing behind the bar. Very nice place with eclectic décor might I add. When’s he greeted me it was very genuine and caring. I immediately asked her for a Bloody Mary and make it spicy. It came out and wasn’t too spicy at all. It was still good just not spicy.(I got a spicy tongue tho lol). With my Bloody Mary I got free beignets which was nice. I enjoyed the powder sugar on top. The brunch menu has a lot of options. I decided on a house favorite which was Shrimp N Grits. It was hard for me to choose between that and the Srircha Chicken and Biscuits & Gravy. I think I made a good choice. As I waited for my food I noticed that there were two servers and a trainee there to take care of the entire restaurant. Now mind u it too big. I counted 12 tables inside not to include the patio. And it was busy. I think they did an outstanding job of sticking together and having excellent teamwork to make sure everyone was taken care of. I was thoroughly impressed. I got my food and it was DE-LI-CIOUS! I couldn’t eat it all and that’s partially because I asked for a second Bloody Mary before my food came out. When I told her she can make it spicier this time, she seemed shocked but obliged. That was right on the spot. Very good indeed. I finished what I could then paid my tab. As I was leaving the restaurant was still full and there was a line outside. Needless to say this place stays rocking! I’ll be back.

Don’t judge a book by its cover. This restaurant has marvelous fresh food. The employees had the best customer service I’ve had at a restaurant in awhile. We had a group of 6 and bill was very reasonable for the high quality food. Everything and truly everything was spectacular. Must haves: Shrimp appetizer Sriracha nachos Crab cakes Cuban pork Coconut shrimp – fabulous Key lime cannoli Beignets #local #familyowned

I had the mixed grill house special and my wife had the pot roast(also house special). There really aren’t many great options in the area, so if grading on a curve or relatively this place may earn a four, but it’s really no better than a 3 star. It’s decent but we found it quite average. Very Nice waitress though

Ok long story but I was on a ride with my girl after burying her father the previous week and just trying to perk her up. Finally got a clear day on Easter Sunday and she decides first place to hit was Shrimpy’s. Good choice! Kind of slow for Easter but you can never tell on a holiday. The staff anticipated a big evening. Anyway they were nice, found our dollar bill on the wall from the first time(maybe second or third) time we were there so I guess they actually do post them. Anyway a few beers(and mouse really is a mouse-tiny-two is her max and she had 3 there alone) and a bit to eat we headed off down the beach and she was in a positive frame of mind. I had Abita Amber and Purple Haze-I like Abita products-she is either Bud or Miller lite unless there is some sort of grapefruit oak wood lefthand stout or other silly woman-only type garbage beer so in spite of the many decent taps on hand she stuck with the boring stuff so no opinion from her… Anyway I have the big fat Kentucky girl a fan of ceviche now thanks to Shrimpy’s! And it is good. Also the chicken nuggets are fantastic as well– warning hot means hot!

Oh, how we love this locals’ place. Located on Central Ave just off Treasure Island Beach, this place offers a New Orleans Blues ambiance and amazing food. If you ask me, it’s really Natalie, whom I affectionately call the Menu Whisper, that makes or breaks your experience. First because her personality is so welcoming, secondly because the menu is diverse and plentiful and you really need someone who can pin point what you’re in the mood for the first couple of times. After that, you know exactly what you’re craving! Please do yourself a favor and come hungry. The portions are huge, fresh and soooo good. PS, the chicken is NEVER frozen. You won’t believe the difference in how tender and juicy it is. I get the Spring Mix Salad with blackened chicken w the homemade sesame dressing. Amazballs– just saying!

Always very good. On a lazy Saturday we stopped by for some Abita beers and Cajun food… since the British boyfriend is unfamiliar with both. Introduced him to their lager… the Andy gator and the purple haze. He liked all but the haze. For food we had cheese grits… chicken chunks extra hot. and fried fish. All came out piping hot and delicious. Next time he’s trying a po boy and they are the best in town!

2 stars for a terrible margarita and dry chicken The inside is a galley style restaurant/bar. Our server was super friendly even while handling the whole place by herself. I ordered the fried oyster app and the boneless wings — blackened. For a drink I ordered a margarita and it was terrible. Too sweet and I couldn’t taste ANY tequila. The best part of the drink was the salt. Back to the food, the oysters were very good with a light fried coating. The boneless chicken bites reminded me of something on a kids menu. Super small pieces and extremely dry! Seasoning was good though, I’ve never had something blackened AND fried at the same time. We won’t be back. Tip: Don’t order the boneless chicken(pieces)

— Short Synopsis — Shrimpy’s has a nice small pub/restaurant ambiance and décor on top of serving good New Orleans style food. — Detailed Summary — It is located in a small strip mall on the north side of 107th Ave/Treasure Island Causeway near the intersection with Gulf Boulevard. Once you see a small clock tower in the middle of 107th Ave, you are in the right area and can turn into the plaza. There is a parking lot and a pirate in front of the restaurant. I liked the ambiance and the interior decorations. I have tried the shrimp and grits on the breakfast menu. It was quite filling and delicious. It does not look like much, but once you start eating it, it fills you up. I enjoyed the proportion of the variety of toppings to the grits. Aside from shrimp, there was andouille sausage, bacon, tomatoes, green onions, and some bread on the side. This flavor combination was delicious and flavorful. The beignets are pretty good too! They are on the crispier side than I am use to, but still a delicious doughnut pillow. I have also tried their croissant French toast that isn’t as good as the beignets, but still pretty good. I have also tried the beef debris po’boy and it was delicious! The extra gravy helped add more flavor if desired. I do wish there was slightly more cabbage/coleslaw mix in it, but other than that it was great. The bread was crisp and the meat was tender and succulent. The mashed potatoes were unfortunately mediocre at best. The texture and taste reminded me of the mashed potatoes you make from powder from a box. One of the only average things I have found about this place, but it wasn’t that bad. Also, you can get 5% off if you pay in cash(currently). Overall, a great place for some grub and some drinks! Plus, it is close to the beach!

My best friend brought me in here for a quick bite while I was in town for the day. I immediately loved the vibe; a dive bar with a New Orleans style. Super casual atmosphere, you could sit at the few available tables or along the bar. To be honest, I like sitting at the bar — it’s a different kind of service & in the right establishment, it’s a pleasure. This was that kind of place. Our bartender/server was quirky and fun, I immediately loved her energy. I was intrigued by all the po boys but she steered me towards their Cuban which had a 3 hour in house roasted mojo pulled pork, ham, mustard and pickles all pressed together. She said the pork was the star and I decided to trust. I got cheese grits as my side because it’s never something I see on a menu. The sandwich really was delicious as all hell. The pork was well seasoned and juicy, complemented perfectly with the ham and crunchy pickles. I fell in love with grits: they were almost corn mealy and cooked just right with shredded cheese on top. Creamy yet with texture, they were a really good bite. I think I may have to start cooking grits. My Bloody Mary could have used a bit more of a kick but it wasn’t bad; the owner was drinking at the bar and helped me pick a beer to try. I was all jet lagged and didn’t need to be drinking but when on vacation… He was very convincing! I really enjoyed this little joint and would go back if in town again. A true surprise and really enjoyable beginning to our vacation.
