Friendly spot by the road. Sat outside on a beautiful June evening. Had the lobster, bbeans, clam chowder. The chowder & beans were amazing. The lobster was good but how can you mess a whole one up? Husband like the sausage & beans too. The place down the street may be busier but this place accommodates those who don’t want just seafood & kids too. Service was great. Not a place to just pass up.

Dropped by this friendly to have dinner. We both ordered the Lobster Roll combo plate. Delicious! I had tried them in another place a few days ago and was disappointed. So really happy with this. My husband ordered the beans as a side and if they are an indication of the quality of the bbq then I’d say great!

Very local and the lobster couldn’t be any more fresh. No prices on the menu and no details about what cost how much when the paycheck came… Toilets could be a bit more clean but very nice people.

We were a little leery of this place, it was pretty quiet on a weeknight. However, we were wrong. The smoked mussels are not to be missed. The Chowder is tasty. Lots of meat in the lobster roll, which my wife had. I did the pulled pork sandwich, and it was quite good. Only thing that kept this from being a five star review was that the Chowder wasn’t as hot as it could have been, and the mussels were a tiny bit sandy.

Started with excellent, thick, creamy and flavorful clam chowder. Unfortunately the fried clams were undersized and overcooked to the point of being rubbery and inedible. The pulled pork sandwich was tasty yet very small. Ultimately a disappointment.

Waited 15 minutes after being seated(which itself was an ordeal) and never saw the waiter again. People were irritated all around us, either waiting for food or waiting to close out there check. Wait staff looked bewildered – funny thing is, it wasn’t even that full. 20 minutes of my life wasted at this place – plenty more food options up the road.

We chose this location for having both the seafood and BBQ. Feeling a bit skeptical because of the mixed reviews we stopped here after a day at Acadia Park. The buoys, lobster traps and picnic tables with umbrellas was so over the top that it actually worked. There were only two waitstaff working for a Saturday night so the service was a bit slower than I would’ve liked. We ordered the freshly brewed unsweetened iced tea, mussels, fried clams, lobster roll with fries and chowder. The steamer mussels were very fresh and a little sandy. A definite recommend! The fried clams were bigger but tasted average. The lobster was meaty, lightly seasoned with mayo on a stale, grilled hot dog bun. $ 18 for a lobster roll, fries, cole slaw and clam chowder seemed like a fair price. According to our friend, who got the pulled pork said that it tasted exactly like it was suppose to. To top the meal off, we got blueberry pie with a scoop of vanilla. Coming from Southeastern Mass and RI, my boyfriend and I thought that pie was to die for. Although a lot of these lobster stop and go locations are available heading into Bar Harbor, we will definitely visit this one again if we are ever back!

Got takeout and ordered the haddock dinner and the shrimp and clam dinner. The haddock had almost no breading to speak of. Basically just a fish dropped in the fryer. The shrimp was the size of my thumbnail and virtually indistinguishable from the clams. My husband got a fowl bite of raw flour and soggy clam and was done eating after that. The coleslaw was horrible too. Just mayo and cabbage. To top it off, the bill was $ 45. The only thing worth noting was how fresh the seafood was, which is inconsequential if they don’t know how to cook it.

Was looking forward to eating here. The combo of seafood and bbq seemed great. Unfortunately not well executed. Up front the service was great. Our waiter interacted with our son as well as with us. My wife and son both enjoyed the blueberry lemonade. As for the food I had lobster with pulled pork. My son had ribs and my wife had a clam plate. She said her was good. My sons was cooked well just no smokey flavor to it. My lobster was over done — I cracked it open with my hands. The pulled pork was moist but mostly without flavor. Pretty good for vacation food.

Went there today for lunch with my partner & was really excited about getting a lobster! I got a steamed lobster meal that came with two sides. I chose corn on the Cobb and red roasted potatoes. The potatoes were bland but the corn was sweet and cooked perfectly, as was the lobster. My only complaint was I had to search inside(we were sitting outside on a picnic table) to find our server for a lobster pic, Bibb and a plate. Everything was served in a tin container which made it hard to eat since the lobster is quite messy and juicy. Other Than that — no complaints! Would definitely go again!

What a disappointing dinner. This place is a tourist trap. We asked for the twin lobster dinner and the shore dinner and asked repeatedly if the lobsters were hard shell rather than soft. Our waitress said it was indeed hard-shell many times. First they got our drink order wrong(we ordered a blueberry lemonade). Not that much of a big deal because there was only one waitress while the others were on break or something. When the food came out, we were missing three side dishes and the lobsters we had were actually soft-shell. There’s a gigantic difference between soft and hard shell especially considering that there was no meat at all in our soft shell lobsters– which is WHY we wanted hard shell in the first place. Once we voiced our complaints, they basically avoided our table. In the end, we never got the sides even when we told them and they ended up paying for the twin lobsters and our drinks. They lied to us about the hard-shell lobster brushing it off like«there’s not much of a difference between hard and soft shell.» Excuse me, there is a GIANT difference. Do not lie to your customers. Please do not come in here. Go to a lobster place that actually shows you the lobster you’ll be eating before they cook it. Or a place that looks like someone’s backyard. This place actually just reheats precooked lobsters into the pits before serving. And for the price they have for one lobster– it’s absolutely ridiculous.

MAJORTOURISTTRAPANDABSOLUTERIPOFF. This place obviously caters to the unknowing. I may not be from Maine but I know enough about lobsters and good service to gauge service and food. Before we even ordered, we asked to make sure the lobsters they had were HARD-SHELL and the waiters confidently reassured us they WERE. Excited, we ordered a Twin Lobster dinner(two lobsters and two sides), a Shore dinner(one lobster, two sides, a slice of blueberry pie, steamers and mussels), and fish/chips and a few drinks. First off, they gave me Pepsi instead of blueberry lemonade which okay… whatever. The main things that really were irksome, all three lobsters were SOFTSHELLED. We had already asked if they had hard shelled and were confirmed. These soft shells weren’t even good. Smaller than normal and majorly overcooked. The muscles and clams were sandy/gritty and extremely overcooked, shrunken, and COLD. To top it off, they forgot to give us two of our sides and the blueberry pie. We didn’t even bother to wait and after such a SHITTY experience, asked for the bill and left. Some credit to them, they gave us the«twin dinner» free, but it was still overpriced and not worth the time at all. Also, they pull a pre-cooked lobster from a fridge, drop it in boiling water to reheat and serve that, I watched the entire process. The tank is just for show. Nice.

What a great place. We are from central Texas and the brisket at this place was amazing. Tender and smoked. Bout standing bbq from the grill master and the service was terrific. Neal was great and he obviously runs this restaurant. Loved the sides. The baked beans had sausage I them and they were terrific. Great cole slaw with pineapple. Wow. You have to come here and share the great bbq. The blueberry pie all mode was out of this world. I almost forgot great sauce. Thank you Neal

Never in my life has there been a time when I have cried tears of joy and pain at the same time, until today. The only thing in more pain right now is, my belt. To give you suggestions on what to get would be a long list… here is a list of things you can skip and thing you have yet to relize that make life living for. SKIP: Potato salad and coleslaw(end of list). Life has no meaning until you try these: 1. Lobster(duh) 2. Smoked muscles(There are alot, so you might want to be hungry or have friends. However your not gonna want to share.) 3. Brisket(omg Maine I would never have thought of for BBQ!) 4. BBQ Chicken(It’s HALF A CHICKEN!!!, it’s omg so juicy! It makes you feel at piece with all the wrongs of the world!). 5. Ribs(these are not fall off the bone good, they are bone falls out of the meat good, warning do not attempt to pick up from the bone!) 6. Corn on the cob(really I am telling you to get the corn!!). 7. Blueberry lemonade(amazing balls! And if you get an awesome bringer of food you get a free refill on the way out) This place is pricey, but you get what you pay for. There are cheaper things on the menue but when your on vacation, you buy lobster, and brisket, and riba, and chicken, and smoked muscles.

Good food but overpriced for what it is. Small portions and basically a tourist trap. If u r going to pay these price u might as well go to a place where your elbows don, t stick to the table. I love whole in the places but I hate places that act like whole in the walls to gouge people.

If you are wearing designer clothes, stay away please. Went for a quick dinner. A couple wearing designer clothes stopped, looked at the menu, and ambience then left. This isn’t for those people. For you– continue down the road and eat overpriced food in Bar Harbor. For the rest of us — the food is good. The bbq was a little spicy for me and I like spicy food. The rest of the family had fish and chips(best they’ve had) and lobster roll(really good). In short Maine décor(hanging lobster buoys) good food. Prices are reasonable– not cheap — but it’s tourist season.

What an amazing Fourth of July evening. First, this place is legitimately welcoming. Energetic, warm servers greet you and engage in some smart banter. The menu checks off the Maine basics(lobster served at least eight different ways — and ways with delicious butter), but it excels at some true delights: Blueberry salsa! Smoked mussels! Smoked BBQ ribs — marinated 6 hours! Coleslaw with pineapple! Raspberry iced tea! The owners originate from Texas so they know how to throw down. Come hungry, friendly and thirsting for originality. And did I mention they took reservations on the 4th of July? Love it.

BBQ not so much, cause tasteless & sauce ok. Steamers ok. Who serves them w no broth? Wait staff slow but nice. Lobster roll — skip because lobster slightly mushy, too much mayo & roll squished. Stars of the meal, cold beer and the fabulous potato salad.

After a weekend of camping in Acadia, we were looking forward to a nice Maine«lobsta» roll and fresh seafood. The service was friendly but disorganized, and the food disappointing. Would not recommend if you happen to be passing by in your visit to Acadia.

Outdoor seating is great. Lots of umbrellas and shades. Lobster roll was good. Brisket was dry. We had this crab dip appetizer which was the best part of the meal! Had my first blueberry soda here! Great service.
