Bed Bath & Beyond

I really want to like Bed, Bath & Beyond. But I just can’t. The prices are high and the service mediocre. There’s nothing I can’t find at Amazon for a much better price.
The final straw came when I went to return an item. I had the receipt, so there was no doubt that I had, in fact, paid for the item. And I merely wanted store credit, which meant that I was going to spend as much, if not MORE, at their establishment.
They treated me as though I was a criminal of the highest order. They demanded to see my ID. For what? I have a receipt as proof of payment. My personal info is both unnecessary and intrusive. I felt kind of bad for the person behind the counter, who was only doing what the computer told her to do. But the policy is still unacceptable.

This was my last straw with this store. We attempted a visit on Saturday evening and the store wasn’t that busy (or I had thought). The store was a complete mess – like a tornado hit it. I saw workers flitting around but not actually doing anything. Merchandise was everywhere and it seemed like nothing was where it was supposed to be. You had to hunt down these seemingly busy bee workers to ask a question because if they actually saw you needed assistance they scattered. I have to say that the prices are pretty high… you can get the same thing at Penney’s or even Target for bedding/​bath items. We did manage to scour through a few things and found some items we were looking for. Fought our way up to the cashier who barked at us that it was going to be «quite a few minutes» so we headed to another lane where we were cast off again. Another lane had an idiot who managed to not activate his credit card before trying to shop at the store. So we waited… and waited… and waited. We gave it a good try but I am not a pleasantly patient person so we dropped the cart and left. Every single lane had some issue going on either with an idiot customer, the registers or cashier. The manager looked like a deer in the headlights but I did manage to voice my displeasure as we left. This store needs to close.

Best customer service I’ve ever experienced! We walked in and were met by Roxanne, the most phenomenal sales associate. She led us to the comforters and enthusiastically assisted as we looked for a color that was, admittedly, out of season. She then showed me what options were available online, and then one more in-​store option that was absolutely perfect and also on clearance. Roxanne listened to every single detail, didn’t price gouge, and even gave me a coupon from her own pocket! She was insightful, friendly, and just a joy to be around. I left the store smiling, and with the perfect comforter, that I got for $ 59.99 when it was originally $ 149.99!

I’m done with BBB. this place is a mess. Had to go get something for a registry this weekend. had to walk out… was just too much. fortunately my wife has more patience that I do. I sat in the parking lot like a total coward! (keeping the car warm) :-)

This location is always busy. The staff seem to be nice but the customers are rude and make ridiculous returns that are years old but according to BBB policies they honor them. (i.e. today someone brought back a Dyson vacuum that isn’t even manufactured any more because it doesn’t work it is over 5 years old). Many people stock up on the 20% coupons and bring one for each item they purchase.

I generally like BB&B because I get 20% off coupons in the mail, AND they take expired coupons. Went to this one this weekend to find slippers, knowing it was a long shot, but they did have some nice-​looking Sharper Image ones on their website.
No luck, unfortunately … but I’ve been to this one before and it’s usually easy to find what I’m looking for. The sales associate offered to order me the online ones, and I’ve heard that if you order in-​store you get free shipping, but I’m a little particular about slippers, lol, so I declined.

Honestly, who couldn’t spend a large about of money at BBB? They’ve got the largest selection of gadgets, things you don’t ‘really’ need, and things that you would have never thought of.
This particular store has been a safe haven just for the staff that has been there for any question you might have.
The one dangerous thing about this store is that it always seems that their carts are out of control on the parking lot, and pulling into a spot might be a little harder than you think. On a windy day? You better watch out… Those carts are rollin! INCOMING!

This is always the last place I look for home goods. It’s always busy and it’s always one of the most expensive options. They’ve got a ton of utensils, pots/​pans, stemware, bedding, etc., etc., but it’s usually on the higher end of the price point. I try to get what I can from HomeGoods next door and look for the harder to find items here. On the plus side, BB&B does regularly send out mailer coupons so if you have something you’ve been looking at, you can get it a little cheaper with their monthly coupons.

This store is huge. everything you could ever use in your house itsems like. they’re kinda service oriented and will gladly special order for you. they have wonderful sales and the seasonal goods are top notch.
A great place to get reasonably priced housewarming and shower gifts.

I love BB&B. Always have, always will – no matter where I live. Aside from the fact I love the look of the store (organization!) and the multitude of products (stuff I never knew existed but now I need it!), the staff is always helpful. I’ve had them look up specialty items, order online for things they were out of stock on, and done returns galore… and everyone is always happy and smiley and very customer service oriented.
I’ve never experienced quite the check-​out situation like the first reviewer, but I will agree that they often only have one or two people on checkout so that if a line does form, they do need to call backup. (And if you’ve ever worked in retail, you know that you can’t always drop what you’re doing to rush to a register.) That said, whenever I’ve been there and they need another register open, it has happened quickly.
And how can you not love a store that sends out a slew of discount coupons AND accepts them even when expired?

I went to BB&B knowing what I needed. I had a list and a plan! I went in, straight for the stuff I wanted, cruised the rest of the store fairly quickly, then up to the check out. I walked by all the check out lanes and there was no one. There were two people working the customer service/​returns desk with a large line. So I ask. .. «is this the only check out», then they spent the next 5 minutes trying to track down a sales person that a. was not on break, b. was not already helping a customer, or c. a jerk working in some department no one cares about!
After a few minutes a line forms behind me — all asking ME is this the line, is that the only check out, what going on here?! Well all at once THREE people suddenly showed up to help the growing line. Thanks. ..
