I really liked it. Definitely worth to try. Fried chicken cutlet over rice is my favorite

The most authentic Taiwanese food in Troy, possibly the best in the capital region. The restaurant is small but cozy, good for a group of 4 or less, but seems to be mainly a take out joint. Lots of noodle soup options, as well as more traditional American Chinese food. ANDBUBBLETEA!!!

I was really anticipating trying this restaurant, which my son really likes(and he KNOWS how picky I am). I’m rather disappointed for a few reasons. First, the amount of food was on the skimpy side. I had the crispy pork appetizer, which was quite tasty, but about half the portion you’d expect. Same thing with the diced pork with noodles. .very little pork, and truthfully, it was a little greasy. The dumplings had a flavorful filling, but the dumpling itself was too doughy, not crisp, and the dipping sauce was bland. My grandson had the winner, I think with his pork with cashews. My son also enjoyed his Chow Fun. I would definitely try it again. I’m very surprised at the size of the portions, considering what other reviewers have said.

Was expecting more meat then 2 teaspoon amount… Portion of meat and other ingredients seems to be less that what owner posts. See pictures.

Finally found a place that makes some of the street foods from Taiwan! Love the popcorn chicken and the tofu pudding dessert(Doe Hua!)

Lucky Corner has become a take out staple for us, and one of our favorite places to eat in the capital region. We have tried a number of items, and have never been disappointed. The tofu dishes are some of the best I’ve ever had, with the tofu being crispy, flavorful and in generous proportions. It is hard to find tofu dishes that are well cooked, consistently delicious, and don’t seem like an afterthought to a menu; however Lucky Corner definitely does it right.

Taiwanese food — finally! This is a little mom and pop shop taking up a tiny bit of space on a residential street. It doesn’t quite belong in its location, but who’s going to fault them for providing Taiwanese fare? Much of authentic Taiwanese food contains some type of pork(probably true for Chinese dishes in general), and therefore I went with the braised minced pork over rice. It’s comfort food really — a bed of white rice with ground pork cooked with a soy based sauce and minced garlic. The meat sits in the sauce and soaks up the moisture of its own fat. The smell is incredibly aromatic, sweet, and savory. The moisture of the sauce dresses the rice and makes it delicious. I sampled the soup base for the beef noodle soup, which did capture the lingering flavors of the meat. The tofu with mixed vegetables was average. If anything, the flavor was more«Americanized» with broccoli, carrots, and mushrooms dressed in a thick soy sauce. Lunch was completed with a boba milk green tea as dessert. The boba was not incredibly fresh or stale, meaning it was chewy but not overly so. I asked for less sugar, which the restaurant was happy to oblige.

I actually had a so-so experience with the meal that I ordered, because the chicken and rice dont taste like chicken and rice. And I am irritated with the delivery and the deliver himself. When I was ordering, the guy who answered my call didnt reassure my address. This made the deliver confused with the address and made me wait outside for half an hour. And when he finally came, I gave him cash and he gave me change. I was about to go when he called me to stop. Then he said:” Do you know the rule here?” I was confused and said no. And then he said:” You need to give me tips.” I really dont know why he just said this, without hesitation. He continued to persuade me for offering tips for several minutes. I really did not know what to say and just go by leaving 1 buck. Certainly, I understand the tips. However, customers need to give by themselves. If we dont want to, we can choose not. I think it is weird when you ask for tips, especially the meal is already late. This guy looks like Chinese and I dont know why this happens with him. I really dont want to order again. I dont expect any improvements from you guys. Just stay away from this!

This is pretty far from me since I don’t own a car and reside in my Hobbit hole of Albany, but I really love this sweet little corner. I originally came here after a wonderful supper at The Brown Bag, and I was pleasantly surprised by the authentic and diverse drinks offered there. Unfortunately, I have yet to have their food, but their drinks are quite good(from the two times I have had the pleasure of having). I got the Citrus aiyu kumquat tea both times, and it’s definitely a treat to get on a hot summer day! They make the tea delightfully sweet but not so much that it’s sickening. The aiyu are pretty well made, and it adds a tangy zest to the texture. The staff are pretty friendly, and they were pretty responsive to me making personalizations to my order(i.e. half sugar, less ice, etc). I believe they do delivery, so it’s a wonderful for peeps who live nearby. They also have a bowl of yummy Lychi candies, so make sure to grab a few as a desert later on!

I live a block from Lucky Corner and have received some awesome take out here a few times. I always get the same thing the Taiwanese Style Pot Noodle Soup(with Udon — Meat Ball, Sliced Pork, Egg, Fish Cake and Large Shrimp). I love that they keep the noodles separate than the broth and extras so when I get home I can easily combine the two to my liking. The broth is super clean, clear and flavorful without being salty. When they do say«large shrimp» they literally mean one whole shrimp. Now that I have an official take out menu(I couldn’t find a menu online last time!) I’ll probably try something different. My boyfriend got the lo mein and he said it was the best(and BIGGEST!!!- he got the quart size but it was overflowing and the container was put in a bag to keep from spilling). He said it was very simple flavors, not too salty and let the pork(in this case) really have center stage. They have a really fancy bubble tea contraption, I’ve never tried it though. Maybe now that it’s officially summer it’s time to really get after it. Also, this place is affordable without creeping you out(aka not so cheap that you are like, «wait, is the real food?»)

These guys are so nice, they delivered food on a timely manner, and the bubble tea was really great too(We got Taro and Almond). I highly recommend this place.

Overall, this place doesn’t take the top spot on my list but they are definitely worth a visit. This is a pretty decent place and the prices are good. It’s nice to have a good take out place here in Troy. I ordered take out and got the salt and pepper chicken, steamed dumplings, and braised minced pork over rice. The chicken was my favorite, very well seasoned. The dough for the dumplings was very thick which is not my preference, however, that did not detract from the flavor, plus for around $ 5 you get 8 and they’re extremely filling. The braised pork and rice was good but not quite as mind blowing as other reviewers have noted. Shop was very clean and the staff was friendly. Next time I plan on trying the bubble tea and look forward to trying their other specials.

Order take from here a few weeks ago, have to say it was the first time everything arrived at my door piping hot. Ordered the steam dumping, orange chicken and chicken with vegetables. All were good, the orange chicken had some heat to it and the steamed dumplings were just right, not over cooked. I will order from them again, since in south Troy your limited time to a few restaurants.

Had takeout from here a while ago(but forgot to review then). Flavorful, delicious food that offers what seems like standard American Chinese, but upgrades to something more. The only complaint is that portions are a bit small for the prices; however, this is arguably made up for by the quality.

This place is AWESOME. We have been there twice now and we have never been dissapointed. I love their fried chicken cutlet over rice. My husband ordered their chicken noodle soup with udon noodles and the perfect poached egg. It was perfect, especially during a cold frigid evening. We love their Taiwanese styled fried green-beans. One new item I tried was their tofu pudding in a ginger broth with bubble drink. It was ever so lightly sweetened with a lovely ginger flavor and delicate tofu peices. Perfect. The people who own this place are also very kind, respectful, down to earth people. Their food is like no other in the Troy/Albany area.

Let me tell you about this place. After 2 years of living here in the Capitol District, I have finally found a place that serves great Taiwanese cuisine. It’s a small little restaurant with a handful of tables for those who want to sit in, but I am told it’s mainly take-out. I came here with a friend who recommended the classic Beef Noodle Soup. Served in a large bowl with a good amount of noodles and delicious tender beef, the soup definitely hit the spot and I finished the entire bowl without a drop of soup remaining. I also got the taiwanese salt+pepper fried chicken, which tasted AMAZING. Pieces of dark meat chicken deep fried and seasoned with aromatic spices in the perfect combination. Every bite was a taste of heaven. I was so excited by the two dishes I tried, I ordered the braised minced pork over rice and another salt+pepper fried chicken to-go. I was going to save it for lunch the next day, but ended up finishing it all that night. The braised minced pork over rice is served with minced pork, an egg, pickled cabbage, and a yellow radish. This eaten alongside the fried chicken is one of my top-5 food combinations. I wasn’t even hungry anymore and I finished it all. Since they opened, they have expanded their menu to include familiar american chinese take-out dishes(i.e. general tso’s chicken, orange chicken, beef and broccoli, lo mein, etc.) to cater to area, but I would highly recommend any of their taiwanese specialties. The price for some of these specialty dishes may be slightly higher than the typical chinese take-out place, which is probably driving away the general public, but let me tell you… the price difference is a difference you can taste. 5 Stars. Highly Recommended. I will be ordering from here again. Check this spot out. You will not be disappointed. Update: I went again two days later to try the stewed pork over rice(Taiwanese style). Although I still prefer the minced pork over rice, the stewed beef is another worthy option. Jeff

I’m sitting by my gas stove on this freezing cold day enjoying beef dumpling soup and a side of fried string beans, and I couldn’t be happier. Thank you Lucky Corner! You always do the trick.

This restaurant is the best thing that has graced the town of Troy. Words can not describe how grateful I am to be able to get properly spiced Taiwanese food that is not overly salty. I almost don’t believe that this place is real. It almost takes you back to Cupertino. The braised minced pork over rice for $ 4.50 is an absolute steal and you get an incredibly aromatic and euphoric experience. His PMT is average by Bay Area standards, but that doesn’t make this place any less than 5 stars. It’s miles ahead of other PMT places in Troy or the«greater Capital region», for that matter. Furthermore, the beef noodle soup is also on point, as well as the popcorn chicken. There is an aura of authenticity upon walking in. It’s not overly pretentious to cover up some subpar food, like many(if not all) of the other businesses in Troy. A+ 10⁄10 would go again. Do yourself a favor and visit the southeast corner of 3rd& Divsion, because we are oh so lucky to have this.

Lucky Corner advertises itself as a(take-out restaurant) and as far as restaurants dedicated to take-out go, Lucky Corner is a great place. The menu is relatively small but focused, with a page for Taiwanese and American-Chinese classics, and a page for Teas, Bubble-Teas, and soda. Prices are on the low side ranging from $ 2.50 for a pint of Hot Sour Soup to $ 10.75 for Chef’s Specialty General Tso’s Chicken. There are no combos or lunch specials. I ordered a Milk Bubble-Tea and Beef Noodle Soup. It was ready in under 10 minutes. The Bubble-Tea was served in authentic Taiwanese style with a seal over the lid which you break with a straw. The the Beef Noodle Soup came in a large bowl, tasted great, and was filling. I opted to actually eat at the restaurant. I ate in what is clearly designed to be more of a waiting area than actual dining area. It only had 1 table, and a bar with chairs along one of the walls, but a lot of floor space, apparently for people to stand in. It was nothing special, but was clean and in good repair. Overall, if whether you’re in the mood for Taiwanese food, or looking for a quick, efficient, and tasty place to get Chinese takeout I highly suggest Lucky Corner. However, if you’re looking for a nice restaurant to sit-down and eat with your friends at, I suggest looking elsewhere.
