Don’t waste you’re time or money! Red Front has been going downhill for a while now but I thought I’d give them one more chance and they failed miserably. My delivery came barely warm and the chicken and the pasta was cooked LONG before I ordered. If you get a delivery you’re screwed ’cause they already got your money, find somewhere else to eat…

My first choice when ordering pizza delivery in Troy! Always go with the 10 cut pepperoni.

There is no better pizza than the COB(cheese on the bottom) pizza. I go out of my way at times just to get the COB pizza as I think it is the best in the Capital District.

For a run down, dingy, dirty, dark restaurant(I don’t even want to think about what the kitchen looks like) food is pretty good but PRICEY! We had burger/fries(tasty) and white linguini w/clam sauce(tasty but came out swimming in oil).

From last Saturday. 3 pizzas, 10 wings, 3 beers and 3 sodas…$ 104!!! Never again. They even charged me $ 1.50 for the bacon on our Chicken BACON Ranch pizza. They charge $ 1.95 for each and every soda REFILL for 10 oz soda. Unreal. I speak with my wallet. I’ll never be back

The total is better than the sum of its parts. Philosophically, I’m fine with cheese on the bottom(COB) pizza. I’ve had it before and I’ve enjoyed it. I just don’t particularly care for it here. Perhaps because the tomato sauce is just so darn sweet. However, when thinking about the COB pizza as a «dessert» pizza, and ordering it with ricotta on top, the experience improved dramatically. I preferred the corner pieces of their rectangular 10 cut pies. But these are pizzas that demand toppings. While it was impossible to distinguish between the crumbled sausage and the crumbled meatball on our two meat pie, the well browned bits of meat elevated the pie. And I was pleasantly surprised to find juicy red peppers on our onion and pepper pie. The onions were thinly sliced red onions too, and these classic flavors were right at home on a soft, comforting, oily crust. All of these savory toppings provide some balance to the aggressive sweetness of the sauce. Everything else was totally solid. And that’s a rare thing. Chicken wings were all crispy, and well sauced. Between the medium and hot wings, at Red Front I preferred the hot, which seemed to carry more of the classic sauce. Even the mozzarella and melba fell within the top half of the form. The breading was delightfully herb free(which is important for pairing with raspberry sauce). And the sauce was chunky, instead of the odd syrupy melbas I’ve encountered elsewhere. The beer selection isn’t going to win any awards. But for tavern-fare, it’s more than adequate with a seasonal Sam Adams selection, a Harpoon IPA, and even something from Brown’s down the road. Looking at any of these things on their own, and Red Front would look like a three star joint. But taken as a whole, the place is more special than that. It’s a comfortable, neighborhood spot, with plenty of parking, warm service, and fairly-priced food. It’s been serving the community comfort food for generations, and it’s clear to see why it’s beloved by many. Without a doubt, I’m a fan.

Not perfect, but really good. The Cobb with pepperoni is our usual go-to. It’s delicious and great with a fresh side salad. I’ve had many of the pasta dishes and appetizers as well and never disliked anything. Good prices and nice people. Only annoying thing is no free refills on soda… you have to buy pitchers. Not good if you’re only two people who don’t like the same kind.

My husband, daughter and I ate dinner here the other night. I have had their pizza in the past as takeout(which was delicious) so we thought we’d give it a try. We started out with mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. Not bad, tasted like your normal frozen mozzarella sticks. We were delighted that they give raspberry melba sauce and marinara with them. I ordered the lasagna, my husband ordered a cesar salad, and french fries for our daughter. If you love cheese, and only cheese, you will love the lasagna. Personally, I thought it was lacking flavor, couldn’t really tell there were noodles due to the amount of cheese and it was majorly lacking ricotta and meat. It was a huge piece, which I barely touched due to not really caring for it. Was disappointed that it did not come with a salad or bread. Just a big, over-cheesed piece of slop really. My husbands cesar salad was pretty undesirable as well. Lacked flavor, very little chicken, looked like it came from a cafeteria. My daughters french fries we’re good, if you found one of the few crunchy fries. Most were soggy like they had sat in a to go container before being served to her. We will likely not go back to eat here. Perhaps takeout pizza but the chances of getting anything else are slim after that meal. Very disappointing.

Got pepperoni pizza and barbecue wings, both of them were amazing and I highly recommend them. The wait staff was friendly and patient with us. The food is good here and there’s almost never a wait.

You will absolutely enjoy this old-school red sauce joint in Troy Little Italy. The c.o.b. pizza(cheese on bottom), is a Troy staple. To add some fried eggplant & black olives is my favorite combination. Sandwiches, seafood & pasta all have a vintage flavor profile. Red Front has a classic décor and vibe that should be treasured and appreciated.

Didn’t expect to like it so much. Ordered because it was getting late and my options were limited. Ordered the chicken piccata with linguine and butter sauce for take out. In one container was two medium/small pieces of breaded chicken with butter sauce and capers. In another small box was linguine and red sauce. I didn’t get why there was red sauce on my pasta when I ordered a dish with butter sauce. I expected either butter sauce on the pasta or no sauce at all and extra with the chicken. Even though they had different sauces, I decided to get out a plate and put the chicken ontop of the pasta. Maybe I’m a weirdo, but I like my chicken dishes like that unless the chicken is cut up smaller. So far not very impressed, everything changed once I started eating. The chicken was perfectly breaded and cooked just right. The tanginess of the capers blended perfectly with the dish. As soon as I tried the red sauce, I see why they probably serve it with everything. It was delicious. Not greasy or burnt like a lot of places. Pasta as cooked perfectly as well. maybe it wasn’t what I was expecting at first, but it was just right. Way to go red front! Side note: dude working with the tatts was very polite to me but it seemed like he was rushing me out. I didn’t feel very much at home.

Pizza is good. We’ve been ordering pizza for years and have gone in a few times a year to eat the pizza in house. This place reminds me of years growing up, going to the local family joints where my dad could have a beer and the family would have a good pizza. Staff is friendly, we’ve often observed them interacting with obvious regulars. This place has been a staple for as long as I can remember. Don’t go there expecting anything fancy, the place is dated, but in a good way. Dishes are clean, prices are reasonable and you leave full!

We ordered take out from this place. The pizza was doughy and the crust was very crispy. We also had a few chicken nuggets which had a unique BBQ sauce. Although it was the homemade blue cheese that stole the show. There was a really interesting raspberry sauce that came with the mozzarella sticks. Overall I would try a different place for takeout or try in house eating.

Ordered a cob pizza and medium wings with extra blue cheese for delivery. Friendly over the phone and the delivery was prompt and friendly as well. The cob pizza is unique and pretty tasty. The sauce is sweeter than most but a good change of pace. The wings were decent sized, crispy, and overall pretty good. Even though it costs extra for extra blue cheese, it is well worth it. The homemade blue cheese is some of the best that I have ever had.

I used to really love going here knowing I would leave full, and satisfied, but lately the food and service has gone down hill. My first complaint is that they charge you for soda refills, knowing their cost is what like $ 0.10 to fill the glass, I can’t get over they charge you $ 2 for every refill. I’ve gotten some pasta dishes the past few times I’ve been, and the pasta is extremely overcooked. To the point where I cant keep my fork in the penne without it breaking. The dishes are smothered in bland sauce, and the meat is not very good. The bread they serve you is Bella Napoli sliced white bread, which is pretty awful. A warm crusty baguette would be much better, especially when they claim to be an authentic Italian restaurant. The only thing worth getting nowadays is pizza and wings… but even the wings that were once LARGE, crispy, and juicy… are now tiny. Like I said, I used to crave this place, but now I will take my business elsewhere.

We got delivery from here and it was great. cOb pizza, buffalo shrimp, a salad. Everything was fresh and tasty. Their homemade bleu cheese dressing is so so yummy I can eat it with a spoon. However, we ate in one night and honestly I would NEVER go back. I will just order delivery and pretend that night never happened. We got the buffalo shrimp and King Crab Legs for apps. Yeah… we were feeling along the splurge side, don’t judge. But we figured if they had the darn crab legs on the menu and we paid market price of 40 bucks for them alone they would’ve brought them out to us dancing the jig. To our disappointment they didn’t even bring those little forks to crack them open with(they were pre-split, just not enough). Also they were(GASP) overcooked. The meat came out in crumbles. We scrambled to get them open before they were ice cold, dumped the shards of meat onto a plate, poured the butter on them and ate them like that. We also had to request a separate bowl for the shells. And no… no lemon. Not a wedge to be found. Sigh. I ordered the chicken/eggplant parm dish. The chicken was a healthy portion and breaded/cooked just right. The eggplant was a bit soggy and there was a ton of it on top of the chicken, in my opinion it was overkill. Their sauce is yummy so that’s a plus. My boyfriend got the penne chicken ala vodka and it was really good and I kept stealing forkfuls from his plate. Was it good enough to go back? No. I’ve had the same or better in other places without a tv blaring over my head in the far front dining area. I don’t agree there should be a tv back there for anything but the quick draw. Keep it in the tavern area. I can still hear that as it is. Will we get delivery? Sure. I would even order a pasta dish for delivery, but their service and ambiance doesn’t cut it for a night out to eat.

Not good, guys. Not. Good. Everything was clearly reheated frozen bulk-stock shit. It honestly freaked me out. To be fair, maybe my expectations were too high. This place has been around for a long time — that’s what the folks at the booth next to us were saying to the waitress — and times are tough and if frozen meatballs make people happy, that’s cool. But the frozen garlic bread bummed me out(it was still real real cold in the middle) and the $ 13 spaghetti was super blah. They’d do so so sooo much better if they just made their own food. Or if they made it fresh. P. S. My boyfriend really liked the fried ravioli. I love my boyfriend!
