Fun atmosphere and a free pizza buffet? Hell yah! I don’t remember much from my time at Norms… And thats not necessarily a bad thing. We had a great time. The jukebox was playing great music anthe drinks were well made. Our servers were very friendly and efficient. It’s a decent place for an after work happy hour. I’d go back without any issue.

Norm’s is the usual standard on Friday night after work but it really comes into it’s own at lunch and weekday evenings. The food and beer prices are unbeatable. Biggest con: service can sometimes be a little slow. They seem to keep a light staff, even on busy nights. Best bet is to sit/eat at the bar.

Nice service, decent food but nothing fantastic. Wish they had HD tv. Decent selection of beer too.

I used to drive by here when I worked in Rochester Hills, but not once did I stop in. This is a solid joint. They have cheap booze($ 3 Summer Shandy pints!) and half price appetizers on Thursday. The appetizers were largely bar-grade appetizers(give the fried mushrooms a miss, though). They have TVs everywhere, so this would be a solid option for football or basketball season — I am not sure what satellite packages(if any) they have. What was supposed to be just happy hour ended up spilling into midnight. Good times. Apparently, I need to come back for the real food. We shall see. .. .

OHHHHH I want to give a glowing review… but it was not good. It deserved one star based on the food, but the service was efficient and if you were only coming for beer, then it would be 4 or 5 stars. Lots of tvs, a pool table, the norms for a dive bar. However we came because the place has 4 stars on Unilocal and we were hungry for lunch. I should have known when all the seats were in shreds, the menu was so wet and sticky I had to use my hand sanitizer on my freshly washed patties, and while overhearing about how after 10 «they» smoke in the bar(despite the ban on smoking in restaurants), that this might be a bit dive-y even for my blood, but we ordered trusting in Unilocal’s rave rants. We ordered chips and salsa, onion rings and a burger with seasoned fries — things that should be good based on the type of establishment Norm’s is. Everything was from a Gordon’s freezer food bag(or seemed like it anyway). The salsa was strange… it was sweet at first and ended with a small kick. It was the oddest shade of pink/red I’ve ever seen. The chips were fresh from the Gordon’s bag into the basket. The onion rings were the highlight — definitely out of the Gordon’s bag but warm and plentiful… but they were $ 5.99… The burger, ordered as a ½ lb, cooked medium, blue cheese burger was none of these things. Perhaps a ¼ lb, the meat was well done and the portion of blue cheese was so minuscule they should have forgotten it. The«seasoned» fries were crispy and fries, but not seasoned. Would I go back? No. Not unless someone else was paying and I was only having beer. From a bottle.

As always my favorite local sports bar. Great place to meet with friends. The bar has some great daily specials.

Went in here a few weeks ago on a Sunday. Place wasn’t too bad. First, I don’t know if it was only because of football or what, but they had some ridiculous specials. 20 cent wings and $ 2.00 tall drafts. Now, I’m no mathematician, but by my calculations, I could eat twenty wings and drink 8 tall drafts(with a designated driver, of course) and have a tab of $ 20.00. Now, as I said before I’m not a mathematician, but I don’t know how this place can make money with deals like that. I’m not complaining… just curious. On top of that, we won the trivia game and got a few bucks knocked off our food bill so it was even cheaper. All in all it was a good night. Overall, I thought the wings were really good, but could have been spicier. The service was a little spotty which is why I am not giving the place a higher rating. The server didn’t seem to know a whole lot about anything. Not sure if she was new or what, but she couldn’t answer a lot of routine questions… and I didn’t find out that the wings were 20 cents until I got my bill — it was never mentioned. All in all, I’ll go back for the deals and sports. They’ve got a pool table too which is a plus.

I dig this place. A lot. We were invited to join some of my husband’s coworkers last night at Norm’s Field of Dreams. We’re new to the area, and it’s only a couple of miles away, which makes me happy! Norm’s has a great local bar atmosphere, and if you’re into sports, they have plenty of flatscreen TV’s to watch the game. I’m not really into sports, so it doesn’t matter to me. We arrived a little after 7pm, and the bar had a decent crowd. The set up is great for many groups to gather and have fun. By the time 9pm rolled around, the bar was very busy. The crowd is definitely local and regular to the bar. A DJ took over the music somewhere between 9 and 10pm. I’m not really sure at that point since I was feeling pretty good! Service was good, and our waitress was friendly. I feel a little bad for the waitresses because they have to wear black & white vertical striped shirts like referees… or Foot Locker. It’s not the most attractive, but they’re cute girls, so they pull it off. I’m not really sure about prices because I didn’t pay for my drinks. The bartender poured a decent drink. I don’t typically order mixed drinks at bars because it usually sucks. I decided to go for it at Norm’s and the pour was just right. I can definitely see myself visiting Norm’s often, and hopefully hanging out a little later next time!

If you build it … they will come … and get hammered! Norm’s is a great place to get together with friends and catch the game on one of their big screens. The prices are decent as is the selection. There’s greasy pub grub to be munched on and there’s nothing that feels fake or manufactured about this joint. That’s something I really appreciate in a sports bar. On many nights, local bands(generally the kind that specialize in crowd-pleasing cover songs) take the stage and it’s a very good time to be had. Kicking back with a cold one and jamming out to a fairly good rendition of Sweet Caroline is always a good time. The only complaint I can muster about Norm’s is that the bartenders all seem to have an especially heavy hand with the sour mix. It doesn’t wreck the experience, especially if you’re like me and stick to beer, but others in our group find it tedious to have to limit themselves to one drink that contains sour mix and then avoiding half the menu for fear of getting a sour stomach off the stuff. So please Norm, lay off the sour mix!
