My issue with Plum Dandy isn’t the yogurt, which is your standard serve-your-own fare both in terms of the yogurt and the toppings. No, my issue is with the service, which start to finish was some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The store advertises an open time of noon on Saturdays. My friends and I arrived at 12:05 only to find the door locked. We peered in and the girl behind the counter came to unlock the door with a mumbled«Sorry» and no explanation. She immediately retreated behind the counter without greeting us or anything. We served ourselves yogurt; the dry toppings were available, but the fruit and moshi weren’t out yet. Two of my friends wanted fruit, so asked the girl if she was in the process of putting it out. She again mumbled a sullen«Yes»… and then proceeded to take 15 minutes to put out the fruit. I’ll say that again. Fifteen. Minutes. Without a word spoken to us– no apologies for taking so long, no offer of putting out whichever fruit we wanted first– just silently scooping fruit into the bins at a snail’s pace. And she didn’t say anything when she was done either, just slouched toward the register and stared at us, waiting for us to finish up so we could pay. I’ve worked in customer service, food service, and retail jobs for almost 20 years, and I can imagine any number of reasons why this girl’s attitude was so bad. Maybe someone called out and she was called in last minute. Maybe she was just having a bad day. I’ve been there. But when your job is to be pleasant to customers, that sort of behavior is inexcusable, whether you’re a bored high school student or not. Plum Dandy needs to do a better job of training its employees on the necessity of speedy service and a friendly attitude– or at least make sure they don’t schedule the impersonable rude people to open the store alone on a Saturday. The only reason they got 2 stars instead of 1 was that– yeah, the service sucked. But it was a really hot day, and damn, did that froyo hit the spot. :)

3 times now, I’ve gone during their operating hours and they’ve been closed. If you want to operate a successful business it needs to actually be honest with its patrons. Good location and right idea but I won’t be trying this again. Off to Dante’s on River street.

Straight up the illest joint in Troy. The smoothies are off the hizzy(shouts out to the strawberry banana). You can catch me hanging ery week fueling up. The employees know what’s happening, spitting out fuego suggestions and flavor collabs. 100% suggest the fly-by for froyo, milkshakes, and smoothies.

It’s okay. The yogurts are REALLY sweet. Putting toppings on it only makes it worse. Maybe I’m just not use to frozen yogurts. It’s really cool that you get to serve yourself and choose all the topping you want. I also love that they offer student and military discounts. Not a lot of places here offer military discount, which is ashame. Staff are really friendly and place is well kept. Nice spot for college students in summer time.

Great selection of toppings and flavors. Very fresh fruit. Several flavors change week to week. Glad to have a place in the area that offers bubble tea.

More people need to go here, that’s the only reason why I gave it 1 star off. I love frozen yogurt, this place seems to be a little more expensive than TCBY or maybe I’m just a little more heavy handed because after 2 visits I’m obsessed with the«euro tart» flavor. It’s the tart, sourness of greek yogurt and then you put tons of amazing fresh toppings on it(they have PLENTYTOCHOOSEFROM). I always find myself leaving there at least 5 bucks lighter in my pocket and at least 1.5lbs heavier. I’m sure once RPI strikes up for the school year this place will be popping a little more. I just find it awkward to eat in a place where only the workers are sitting sadly waiting for other patrons.

Another good bubble tea place in Troy! I only tried the original black bubble tea, and it was great. Plum Dandy also has frozen yogurt(and mochi topping!), it was good too.
