I usually like Salsarita’s but today was just terrible! The guy that is ALWAYS behind the counter and looks like he hates life, needs to learn the difference between salsa and pico de gallo. I asked for mild salsa with my chips and he gave me pico and threw it in the bag, leaking everywhere! Uhm, excuse me, soggy chips and pico? Do you know what salsa is? And then I ask for lettuce in my chicken bowl and gives me the shredded taco lettuce. Seriously? Romaine goes in a bowl not shredded lettuce. Terrible. Won’t be going back.

Bit into a chicken bone and management did not care. Unprofessional manager. The taste of the pizza had none.

Money spend on fixtures not on food quality. . The manager was wiping the sneez guards so you could see the poor food standards. Very slow… I wud be fine if i was being served fresh food after 15 minutes If you as a manager are ok with poor food quality being served. its not the employees fault. You set that standard Everything was way too dry… when its slow cook less or throw the old food and cook fresh… Chips were under cooked. Just kept my fingers crossed that he wud not ask me how was everything when he was wiping tables… u should be throwing the mush away and cooking fresh food instead.

The food is good, I recommend getting a burrito. The staff isn’t friendly at all. The females who were working yesterday were drinking milkshakes from next store and watching the television at the bar. For fast Mexican food I recommend, but not for a nice dinner. Prices are pretty good.

When you walk in they call themselves the subway of Mexican food. I don’t think I need to write anything else, do you? Too many other options in the area for decent«fast food» Mexican.

Always liked this place. The burrito bowls and the grilled steak nachos are the best.

It’s not knock your sombrero off amazing Mexican, but it is pretty tasty. Don’t plan on teleporting to Mexico in each delicious bite but I do think they do a nice job of serving decent Mexican food that appears to be fresh and also made to order.

This is an update to my original 1-star review about a year ago. This was my second time here. We decided to come back since we had recently heard some good things about it. I must say, it was quite a bit better this time around… And busier; always a good sign. I got a burrito bowl and the employee made it with some delicacy and care which I appreciated. Taste was good! Guacamole was fresh. I think we would return again. It’s a good, cheap, fast meal.

We would have rated Salsarita’s 5 stars, but it can be inconsistent. Salsarita’s is one of the restaurants my whole family will agree on. The chips and salsa are particularly good. When it’s good, it definitely deserves a 5!

Food was cold and sides were NOT fresh. Tables were sticky. Service was fast and accurate and prices were reasonable.

One of my favorite places to eat. We eat dinner at Salsarita’s 2 to 3 times per week.

I really like this place. I’m not sure where some of these negative reviews are coming from. Salsarita’s is not authentic Mexican food nor does it claim to be. But it’s still good. This fast-casual restaurant is large, with plenty of seating options available — booths, tables, high-top and bar seating. The staff has generally been very friendly whenever we’ve visited. They also have a rewards club with some cool perks. I really like their quesadillas, although I’ve had their burritos and bowls as well. The chips and queso are a must. Try it!

I had been to their Ann Arbor location quite a while ago, before it closed, and my bf and I were in the mood for some Mexican food before Rochester’s Movies in the Moonlight. I saw this on Unilocal and it was on the way. Their $ 6.29 deal is pretty good: you get two tacos, either hard or soft shell, plus a small drink and chips and salsa. Sign up for their club(get the card in store and sign up with it online) for more deals like free chips and queso too, and bday coupons. I’d definitely come back here when in the area just because it’s so reasonably priced. I actually liked the hard shell taco with steak more than my soft she’ll with chicken which is unusual. I like Zumba in Royal Oak more but they charge for adding Spanish rice and random things which Salsaritas does not.

Huh. Personally, I enjoy Salsarita’s. I don’t know where these other reviews are coming from. I only gave them 3 stars because Zumba is like 10,000 times better(but Zumba is about 10,000 better than all other fast casual Mexican places) and because yes, they really do need to make cleanliness a priority. Not filthy, but considering they aren’t usually slammed, the tables should be wiped down. I think the food is good though. But clearly I’m in a minority here, because I also think that Chipotle is the worst fast casual Mexican chain, closely followed by Qdoba.

I really love this place. When it first opened, my coworker and I were first in line. Since then I’ve been here at least 30 times. The guy who owns this place is awesome. He looks just like a certain member of Monty Python(HINT John Cl____) The food is REALLY good, and despite the last review I say this place is not dirty! It’s very busy at lunch-so from 11:30 until about 1pm. But the line moves pretty fast. This place if you haven’t been is kinda like a subway for Mexican. It’s way better then your Chipolte though. Like way. My advice-get the queso on everything. It’s so fantastic. I love the nachos and there are 2 types of sour cream. YUM! The staff has always been good to us, and they know some of us who go often. The hottest salsa has a nice kick too and the jalapenos have seeds. I’m telling you that because I like spice, so if you think you are going to get the pickled baby jolly’s you are not. The bathrooms are a single, that is always a downfall to places that are large. I don’t get it. But when it comes to the food, I have had just about everything-and I love it all. I also love that they have tea that is fresh brewed and nbot that Brisk crap. Come in any day and they have a special going on. Wacky Wednesday is my fav :) Sign up foir their club and get points for every $ you spend. and WHAT that = FREEFOOD! We’re talking $ you can spend on anything there. Totally worth it. I have also on 2 occasions bought their taco bar to take back to the office. People rave. You need to call a day ahead, but they give you everything you need. Tons of chips, sour cream, salsa and meat. I would even recommend them for a Udperbowl Party! Yum yums in my tum tums. I mean not like tums the antacid… whatever. You get what I mean :)

Terrible. It’s not Mexican, nor tex-mex… Just tastes like a bunch of ingredients missing a final identity… Will never go back, chipotle is king of fast casual Mexican. The steak here tasted pretty bad, nothing tasted fresh. Avoid unless you didn’t read this before going.

I think my hunger was the one thing that prevented me from rating this any worse. Actually now that I think about it, the chips and salsa were what prevented an abysmal review from me. Still, pretty gross. Avoid. Or better yet, go to Chipotle — it’s right up the road and waaaaaaay better

On the way to a rehearsal recently, I had to grab a quick meal. This place not far from the M-59 Rochester Road exit ramp was my choice. It’s of the same school as Baja Fresh, Qdoba and other assembled-to-order Mexican food. I went with the old reliable burrito(beans, rice, guacamole, pico de gallo and the expected side veggies). I did note, try and appreciate the white corn mixture on the burrito. I also saw that they appeared to offer beans in tacos, a rarity. Indeed, there seems to be slightly more emphasis on alternative protein or fillings. Overall, while nothing special, it does seem on a higher plane than others of its breed.

First off, the chips here are some of the freshest I’ve had. Anything to the contrary is a lie.’ The rest is a ‘subway style’ mexican. I would never compare this to chipotle /qudoba simply on the basis that they have a TON more options for fresh toppings, and a bunch more menu options. Their queso is very yum IMO. The daily specials are a good price, as is the all time running 2 taco an chips and drink for like $ 6.50. I’ve never had toppings that were bad. I love building nachos here, and also the cantizza(mexican pizza) is really good. I like the crispy crack like wafer it’s served on. I wont get the burrito here, not good. While they do offer more, sometimes simple is better. So is flavor of ingredients. The proteins here are very week in flavor. If this place had the chips, menu options, and fresh toppings that they do with proteins that packed the flavor of real mexican or Chipotle /Qudoba quality, they would have amazing reviews.

I went here because I had a great coupon and nothing in the fridge… But the food actually surprised me. I have come here before, but it was no big deal. Chipolte is a block away and much better. There is a margarita bar area with no liquor license and hence no margaritas. Fail. The lemons and limes for the iced tea must have also been waiting on the liquor license because they looked about a month old– gross. I ordered the pork hard shell taco combo meal for $ 5.99. What a great deal. The chips and salsa in the combo meal were tasty. I love it when a hot salsa sticks with you for a few hours. I don’t really see a need to come back unless I get another coupon…
