Pretty decent. I like the hot salsa and chips are good. I ordered up a chicken chimi, enchilada style. I wasn’t blown away by it, but it arrived piping hot. Took a while, but the place was pretty busy, so I think calling ahead is a good way to go(also if eating in). I love the salsa, so glad it comes in a bottle and you can just refill as an needed. Popular lunch place!

Amazing salsa! Made on site and chips and salsa are complimentary with eating in. The portions are big and the soups are next on my list of things to try. My group ordered the chicken soup and I got the carnitas. Friendly service and lots of seating space.

Watery sauces, flavorless tortillas, canned tomato paste. Not the worst ever, but there are better choices nearby.

Best stuff on earth! Well not sure, but it’s pretty darn good… lunch specials are delicious, cheap, and perfect portions. would highly recommend to anyone in the downtown area. red Chile is my favorite. you won’t be disappointed

Alejandro’s is great for a delicious Mexican lunch downtown. The food is always and the chips and salsa are included.

Great cheap prices for portions. Always busy during lunch so beware if you’re trying to dine in with a group. I always get their veggie burrito enchilada style which gives me guaranteed leftovers. SCORE!

The downtown lunch conundrum… where should I eat for lunch? Answer: Alejandros(only if you are craving cheap delicious mexican food) This place truly delivers if you are looking for a fast, cheap, lunch. My favorites include the cocido soup: it comes w/a huge solid chunk of potato, corn, zucchini, and beef. I emphasize on the huge chunk part. nothing is chopped up for you here! Super delicious and filling for $ 6.00 Their cheese crisps are good too… its essentially a thin thin thin cheesy pizza. Yup Alejandros is a solid 5 out 5 stars. a no frills kinda place to get your grub on.

Super good for a quick lunch. Get in line to order, sit down at your table, and wait for delicious delivery. I had a big bowl of Albondigas and they were fabulous! The tortillas were just what I was looking for as well. There are lots of choices downtown for a lunch like this, but give Alejandro’s a try!

Fast, consistent and great value. This is how quick Mexican food should be. I am a boring soul who sticks to tacos and their taco lunch special is great. Delivery is also a great option when I get overloaded in the office!

This place is one of the places we go for lunch since I work downtown. It’s located next to 47 scott which makes it convenient to the parking garage down there. Kind of a hole in the wall, the food tastes good, I haven’t ordered that many different things there to have a favorite, but I do know that I have cleared my plate every time. The one complaint I have is about the woman that brings your food to the table. She is elderly and very surly. She looks at you with a look of disdain, and you just pray to god that she won’t through your plate of fajitas at your face. Avoid her at all costs, just smile and nod.

No clue why this place is so packed at lunch or why it has so many positive reviews. You order at the counter and then try to find a table– I got a dirty look for sitting by myself at a four person table, but there are few two person ones and they were occupied. The salsa is a thin, watery bland paste instead of a true salsa, and the ground beef tacos are bland as well. Yes it is cheap, and yes it is quick, but so is Los Betos and I’ve had better meals there.

This place gets busy! It is one of the few mexican places you can grab lunch when you are downtown. I have been eating here for years – over 10. Is definitely one of those downtown staples. Why three stars you ask, it’s good but it doesn’t blow your mind and it certainly isn’t Nana’s cooking. The beans are good, the service is good, the portions are too. Is totally worth the money you spend and it certainly satisfies your craving for comida Mexican when it strikes! Like many other elders have noted, if you plan to est here, get here early! By 12:15 it’s a mad house– kind of like the mall on Black Friday. So beware if you don’t like crowds!

I enjoyed my visit. It was a little crowded but it is understandable since it was during lunch. I had the cocido soup and it was great! Hearty pieces of vegetables and the broth was delicious. The waitress was attentive and helpful. I would definitely come back.

This place was such an awesome place when I first starting working Downtown, about 10 years ago. Since then, It has slowly dwindle down to what it is now: A fast food Mexican sit-down restaurant AKA Expensive Los Betos. And the cashier that works here has no business working with people. She had the worst attitude and was rolling her eyes when I was asking her about the menu. I got the Chicken Flautas. They tasted and felt as if they were fried earlier in the day and microwaved. Microwaved with the lettuce, tomatoes, and rice. I know when lettuce has been microwaved. I would have sent the plate back, but then I would have had to deal with the cashier again. Maybe it was a bad day, but after today, I will probably not return until 2016. Note: The soups most people were eating/drinking looked pretty damn tasty.

I’ve been to Alejandro’s about a hundred times since I first wrote a review, and every time it’s been consistently good. I can’t comment on the variety, since I always get the albondigas soup, but I can comment on the consistency – it’s always wonderful. Today I have a terrible cold. I used their delivery service for the first time ever, simply because I didn’t think I could make the walk over there. From phone call to delivery it was 20 minutes max, and the kid who delivered couldn’t have been nicer. There was no delivery charge but of course I gave him a good tip! If you come downtown – or even better, if you WORK downtown, and you haven’t tried Alejandro’s yet… why the heck not?

I was in Tucson for a workshop and when it was over went looking for a Mexican restaurant. We found Poca Cosa, but we were looking for more traditional food and asked a few people on the street and they directed us to Alejandro’s. This place was just what we were hoping to find. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming, the ladies at the counter very friendly and helpful and the food was great! I had the Thursday special, green chili burro enchilada style and it was excellent. My friend had chicken fajitas, the chicken was very tasty and tender and the beans were better than in most restaurants, with a home made taste. The service was very good, refilling drinks as needed, and the price was very reasonable. We left happy and I will go back next time I am in Tucson

After visiting the John Dillinger Days displays at Hotel Congress, we decided to try Alejandro’s for lunch. And I’m glad we did. The ladies were very friendly and welcoming. You place your order with them at the counter and then they bring it to you. We ordered a lot of food and only paid about $ 15 and change. The room is wide open with lots of comfortable seating that made for a quiet, peaceful ambience. Nothing fancy. The food was very, very tasty. I have to say, their refried beans were about the tastiest I’ve had in a long time. The cheese enchilada and bean tosada were wonderful. Clean plate club here. I will most definitely return here for lunch again. I think most people don’t know about them because of their location on a side street. Now that I know where they are, that won’t be a problem anymore!

8÷15÷11 — Special of the day(Monday) — chicken fajitas with corn tortillas, beans and rice; side of guacamole; and water to drink. I enjoyed the beans, which were topped with some melted cheese; the rice was OK; the pieces of chicken, dried out; guacamole, so-so. Pleasant staff, Spanish spoken. You go to the back of the room to place your order, which is delivered to your table when it’s ready.

Not too bad, yet not overwhelmingly wow! I work down the street from Alejandro’s so was looking for a cheap place that delivered. The convenience gives my rating 2 stars. The taste adds the third star. It certainly wasn’t bad Mexican food but it wasn’t the best in Tucson, that’s for sure. I ordered the daily special which was 2 cheese enchiladas and a beef taco with beans and rice. The taco was kind of yummy. The shell was good and the vegetables(including cucumber) were good but the meat was somewhat flavorless. I was just happy it didn’t come to me soggy, soaking in meat juice. So yay for that! My co-worker, on the other hand, threw hers out so I suppose it always boils down to individual taste. As for the cheese enchiladas, they were just average. They weren’t overtly greasy but the enchilada sauce was just so-so. Not very full of flavor, which is what I would also say about the refried beans. I did like the rice. I guess the common denominator is lack of flavor. Will I eat here again? Probably, but more so for convenience and fulfilling my Mexican food urge than anything.
