This is THE go-to place for Mexican colonial/arts/dia de los muertos/address tiles, anything south of the border from pottery to ceramics to metal, mirrors, to furniture. You can’t get it this cheap in Mexico. Prices are waaaay more reasonable than Tres Amigos, who marks up their stuff and then advertises 50% off every other week. Picante has some of the same cool stuff, but again, prices are much higher. The staff in here is so friendly, bubble wraps your items, carries them to your car, and the selection of stuff is VAST. Plan to spend an hour, and they have a great sales shelf on the back wall.. . lots of treasures for pennies on the buck.

The best place in Tucson for Native/Mexican/Unique decorating items. Have been to both locations and they are very helpful and courteous with their clientele. Top recommendations if your looking to buy local. We’ve been to Tubac for their items, coming here saves time and money!

A lovely store that has some great deals and fascinating wares from Mexico. Very friendly and helpful staff and my mom spent over an hour and a half in here before I had to literally drag her out. ;)

The new borderlands is great. They have all the great items they had downtown, including a great sale rack. I guess I just can’t give them 5 stars because I miss the old borderlands downtown.

If you had your heart set on shopping for bargains in Nogales but are now hesitant to go, check out Borderlands Outlet on 7th Street, right off 4th Avenue. Their prices essentially rival anything we found in Nogales when we last visited there in 2006, and undercut anything you’ll find on 4th Ave or elsewhere in Tucson. Several rooms are filled with furniture, Mexican folk art, talavera, light fixtures, you name it. We were delighted to find lovely Mexican tiles at 75 cents each(we paid 50 cents each in Nogales in ’06), puta dolls for $ 8, medium-size tree of life for $ 17(I’ve seen it for twice that much), a very extensive collection of Day of the Dead figurines, wood carvings from Oaxaca, and much, much more for a lot less than other places. We went two times and bought a ton of stuff for under $ 100. The clerks bubble wrapped our purchases carefully, and everything survived our flight home unscathed.
