It baffles me how anyone can give this place more than 2 stars. I came here three times since I like the items on their menu but each time was a bigger disappointment than the last. Cons: — POORQUALITYOFFOOD; the chicken was BLACK because it was so dry and they actually microwaved it before pour sauce all over it. Tried their sweet and sour«fish». There was no fish(seriously), just stale fried dough with a thick slop over it. I cannot even eat one piece of it. The chicken dishes came with chicken that was BLACK, due to microwaving and it sitting in the freezer too long. Everything tasted like the first time someone tried to make a dish and failed miserably at it. — VERYLONGWAITTIME. I ordered a beef noodle soup. Took 20 minutes. I heard microwave beeps. A few pieces of beef and some veggies, and the rest was a big ball of poor quality noodles. — PRICES: yes they have very low prices for lunches. I paid over 8 dollars for a bowl of noodles consisting nothing more than few pieces of beef and all noodles which were terrible. I paid 13 dollars for fish that obviously came out of a bag and mostly consisted of pre-fried dough and sauce. Pros: NONE Unfortunately this seems to be another asian restaurant where the owners overly skim on the food quality hoping their patrons wouldn’t notice what they’re doing. Well. I do, but sadly it looks like many people here giving 5 stars are clueless.

I used to be a regular here. Maybe twice a week even but now they are terrible. The prices and specials have changed and aren’t worth it anymore. Truly saddened but probably won’t be coming here ever again.

I was so happy to see a new place open up close to home. The boyfriend and I stopped by for lunch because the combo prices they advertised were fantastic. The service was… okay. The food took a fairly long time considering we were the only people there, about thirty five to forty minutes, and they forgot a side. To put it simply regarding the food, we got what we paid for. And then some. Aside from the hot and sour soup being tepid and on the bland side — and an oddly dark colour — the food made us feel ill within the hour. We ate less than half our food before giving up and getting something else. After we stopped feeling queasy that is. Perhaps we just had a one off experience with Brother Noodle, but we’ll leave the taking of that risk up to people braver than ourselves.

I had ordered the chicken and shrimp fried noodle special and was very dissatisfied with it. The flavor was bland and the vegetables in the dish were overdone and bland. I also got some sesame chicken for another person in my party and it was not any better. The chicken was also overdone and lacked flavor. It tasted like it had come out of the microwave. Even the rice was a little stale. This Chinese place was my second choice for dinner(I do not know the area) and was the only one open at the time. I will not make the mistake of visiting again. There was not even any hot sauce! There was only a spicy mustard with a strong ginger influence that doesn’t go well with anything.

Like many of the recent reviews below, this used to be our favorite take out place in Tucson(heavy emphasis on used), so much so that we were willing to drive 50 minutes round trip for food when we moved to the other side of town. Now, it seems they have changed management, or their food suppliers, or both, and the food is incredibly underwhelming and a far cry from what it used to be. The biggest disappointment comes from the dumplings and the veggie lo mein. The dumplings used to be hand made and authentic. Now, they are doughy with very little filling and taste as though they came from the frozen food section of a grocery store. The lo mein used to have thin noodles, lots of veggies mixed throughout, and great flavor. When we opened our take out container from our last visit, there were a few steamed veggies on the bottom of the container, and the noodles were thicker than normal and an odd yellow color uncharacteristic of lo mein just plopped on top. Disappointing all around, and we will no longer be eating here. Please, go back to your old ways so I can be in dumpling heaven again!

Cute little family place and the food is so good! I recommend the dumplings but the beef fried noodles were delicious too.

I don’t even know where to start. Months ago, this was my favorite place to grab lunch in Tucson. It was this odd hole-in-the-wall place with amazing food, great portions, low prices. Their dumplings were literally one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. About a month ago, they must have changed ownership. Since then, their menus have gotten fancier, the décor a little nicer, and the staff no longer has trouble with English. Also, the food has gone intensely downhill. The fried rice is more appropriately described as ‘yellow colored rice’, undoubtedly sourced from a frozen instant rice product. The entrees for the lunch special have become decidedly unimpressive; for example the Mongolian Beef is more like Mongolian Onions with a tiny amount of mexican-style green chilie beef. At least they lowered the price, I guess. I’m afraid of what happened to the soups and dumplings. I don’t even want to try it, and spoil my memories of those perfect leek-egg-shrimp bundles of yum. If the proprietor reads this; people dont come to authentic(for some value of authenticity) ethnic restaurants to get a better price than fast-food equivalents. They come for amazing food. You used to have amazing food at an amazing price. Now you have mediocre(at best) food at a price that isn’t cheaper enough to entice me not to just go to Panda Express or something.

Not a bad noodle house portions are large although I doubt the dumplings are actually homemade. But you could do worse.

Bad and bad. What happened? When this place opened they were making their dumplings fresh, and now it tastes like it’s from a frozen package from what everyone can get at the grocery store. Was it a change of management or cook? I’m so disappointed. Their beef noodle soup is also sub par and for some reason expensive. Why? The beef taste like really bad cut/low grade meat and nothing spectacular about the broth.

Really, not good. My husband had the noodles, something with beef. The broth was… gross. It tasted like old spices, powdered ginger and some kind of mix. Glad some people like this place, but we aren’t going to come back even though it’s right down the street from us.

I decided to try this place and was quite happy with it! We got delivery lunch specials, it was 3.99 for a serving of beef and broccoli with white rice. They had about ten basic options for this lunch special. It was fresh and the perfect size, delivered quickly with a smile… I look forward to visiting the actual restaurant!

Great big bowl of beef noodle soup, really hit the spot. Delicious. Actual restaurant was a bit weird and non-chalant but great food! I’ll be back !!!

I was excited to hear about a soup noodle restaurant in Tucson of all places, but I was sorely disappointed. Not only was the soup bland, the noodles were they kind you can buy at the Asian food mart. And to add insult to injury, it’s not cheap!

I got the beef noodles, which is their special. A very plain bowl of bok choy, a little beef, regular flour noodles, and beef broth. It’s overpriced for what they give you. You have to order at the counter. The guy at the cashier had a slightly arrogant attitude. Lastly, weak-to-no air conditioning. It was 98 degrees outside the restaurant and inside as well. You can tell by the lack visual appeal of the place, the owner doesn’t invest in ambiance.

Once in a lifetime experience! But if you can help it, don’t even make it once. Over the past 5 years that I have been actively Unilocaling, I’ve only wanted to give ZEROSTARS to very few places. This is one of them. Poor portions, lack of flavor, priced too high, and *possible* racism(yes, I understand that this is a pretty big accusation. Read on). I recently ate dinner here out of desperate measures, as I was miserably failing in finding good Asian food in Tucson. Brothers Noodles is one of the«sponsored search» on Unilocal,so it kept showing up on my search results, and I caved in to driving across the town to eat there. Kind like poking a hole at the bottom of a popcorn bucket, I guess. Probably not going to turn out well but give it a try anyway. First impression was bad. I couldn’t find this place because the restaurant’s sign doesn’t light up at night… passed by it twice before spotting it. Then upon walking in, I saw a measly vinyl sign with scribbled price changes by using a permanent marker. How Asian. Better yet, sitting under this completely unacceptable sign was a nondescript employee playing games on his cell phone. No uniform or nothing. For all I know, this is a regular customer who killed the owner and took his place, meanwhile cooking up the owner’s chopped body to incoming customers. Well that’s not a healthy first thought… I probably need help. Sick jokes aside, this is how you know that a restaurant does not care– anyone who has worked in food services understands that there is ALWAYS something that needs to be done. If nothing, hell, there is always something to clean. Playing video games on your phone during the dinner time is just bad practice. I got myself a bowl of beef noodles with vegetable, and for something like $ 8.50, it was less than half the size of any phở bowl I can find in town. To definitize this zero-star experience, there was just a lonely single piece of Chinese broccoli sitting atop the noodles… how insulting. No flavor either! Tasted like something out of a packet soup. Alright, here comes the juicy and memorable racist story that the bowl of noodles never was. While eating my tasteless flour, I noticed that one of the customers(who already got his food) came back to the counter to ask for something. Have you ever received your food, only to realize that a fork was missing? If you’ve ever watched the old school Dane Cook standup, this is one of those moments where you have all the rights in the world to cut the line to the front to get your god-given rights to a fork. However, this customer happened to be a black man. The professional-cell-phone-gamer-aspiring-Chinese-worker ignored him for solid 2 minutes, suddenly reorganizing his counter, delivering checks to tables, before asking what the black man wanted. I felt sick watching this. Just what the f*** was his issue with the customer? As a note on the side, I didn’t notice anything unusual while a group of 4 people with a token black dude had entered the restaurant and made their food order. TLDR: Terrible restaurant for the value. Don’t fall for Unilocal’s sponsored search trick.

Starting to think I am too high maintenance… Wanted to try somewhere new, tons of ppl raved about their dumplings on here and I have yet to find a good place for potstickers in AZ, so… Ordered pork dumpling, had a funky flavor. Mongolian beef was tough and chewy Kung Pao Ck had weird bitter flavor Fried rice was good White rice was dry May go back for cheap lunch special, since it’s such a good deal, but won’t keep in my usual rotation.

Back again for Noodles with my wife and daughter. Good food for dinner and open really late. Hole in the Wall in a shopping center, but clean and very friendly staff. Noodles and Dumplings are the BOMB! It is very good. The other Chinese fair was average. But I love this place and I hope to try the lower price lunch menu soon.

I tried Brothers Noodles as carryout after wondering about them for some time. The online menu and ordering were nice. The food, not so much. My order was a General Tso’s Chicken, the Pork Rib Noodle Soup, and the steamed Pork and Cabbage Dumplings. The General Tso’s Chicken tasted more like someone added a little heat to sweet and sour chicken. It was just soggy, red, heavily breaded nuggets. The small amount of meat in the noodle soup seemed more like beef than pork. The soup and noodles were flavorless and underseasoned. The dumplings were undercooked and doughy. They smelled foul in the package(worse than cabbage normally does) but tasted slightly better. But the doughy wrapper was unimpressive. None of these items made me want to try their food again.

I came here hoping to try the noodles about a month ago. As a vegetarian, I was so bummed to find out that they used beef broth in all of their noodle dishes. Fortunately, my boyfriend was able to try it, and he loved it. On the other hand, they make an egg-cellent(punny much?) garlicky Chinese eggplant dish. It was served family-style over a hot bowl of rice. What a treat! As a side note, their dumplings can be custom-ordered to accommodate vegetarians. You just have to order it 30 minutes ahead of time. These guys deserve an A+ for quality and customer service.

The steamed dumplings were great. A little on the smaller side but good flavored. Ask the staff for some chili oil to add to the soy sauce vinegar mixture that it comes with, you won’t regret
