This is a great place to swing by any time of the day. I get an eegees almost every day. Love this place so much. It is also so convenient that there are locations almost everywhere in Tucson.

I first became enamored with Eegee’s while going to college in Tucson 38 years ago. I was a regular customer for the years I lived in the area and each time I returned. A purist, I always preferred the original grinder(heated up) and the original lemon eegee’s. This particular location, however, disappointed this time. They did not ask if we preferred our sandwiches hot, and when we did ask, did a poor job of heating them. They were also quite dry — not enough dressing. The fries were old and stale. The frozen Eegee’s was great as usual. If you want great service — avoid this location!

My First Time Here, i have never had Eegee before and my Alex said he needed to take me here. We shared a large Lemon Eegee slush made with real lemons, these are the best! They need these in Phoenix!

Eegee’s has the best ranch I’ve ever had! The drinks are perfect and even addicting on a hot summer day. When I go to BBQs I like to bring a tub of Eegee’s and a bottle of rum. It’s always the first to go. They totally tricked my today(April fools day) when they said the flavor of the month was ranch! In a weird way it kinda sounds good because their ranch is THAT good! I just learned that their bacon bits are completely vegan. Just soy, MSG, and bacon flavoring. I love the veggie grinders and ranch fries. Yum!

If you live in Tucson and you haven’t had Eegees, you’re missing out. Best frozen drinks that stay frozen for an insane amount of time. I always get a Teagee, which is just the lemon eegee with tea in it. I’m a fan of the turkey sandwich and the veggie grinder. I always ask for wheat bread and my sandwiches are always good. Definitely recommend Eegees to anyone who hasn’t tried it yet!

This location has come a long way from what it was a couple of years ago, I used to avoid it if I could. Now they have friendly well-trained staff who always gets my order right and most importantly… they always put lots of meat on my sammiches! edit 5 months later: still eating there a lot and they are truly amazing. Extremely fast, food is always A+, very nice folks working there. Best eegee’s in Tucson for sure.

This is the eegee’s to go to if you like eegee’s managers getting pissed at you when they get your order wrong. It is also the eegee’s with the most employees with face tattoos I have seen(one). If you want to see a guy with a sweet face tat wearing a pastel pink eegee’s shirt go here like six months ago. They are pretty good at spilling fries right before almost handing them to you. Spelling and counting are also things they’re good at. Tip: don’t get the chili dog if a guy is coming over to your house later! Frozen fun is eegee’s.

If you go to Eegee’s during the month of June, you can buy a Cap’n Card for $ 7. Said Cap’n Card consists of tear off tags that allow you to receive 50% off your order once a month, up to $ 6. If you don’t use it in the allocated month, don’t fret, you can use it any time after that, so it never goes to waste. Use of this card ensures that you will be patronizing Eegee’s at least once a month. I should also mention that $ 7 you paid for your discount card is actually a donation to a local charity. A local business supporting a local charity. What’s not to love about that? During your monthly visit(buy more cards make more visits), you can try their famous frozen fruit drinks(don’t forget to add the booze) with a rotating flavor of the month or one of their standard flavors, strawberry, lemon or piña colada. Order a sandwich(I recommend making it grinder style) and the requisite side of fries, chips, soup or chili. Finish it off with one(or two) of their fresh cookies. When they hand you your tray or bag, be sure to ask for some of their ranch or house dressing. They will give you as much as you want — FORFREE! So to summarize: Legendary frozen fruit drinks Quality food at a discounted price FREESTUFF! Local supporting local No wonder Tucsonans have a love affair with Eegees.

So I hear this is the spot to go to in Tucson. For Californian’s like myself we go to In N Out. Eegee’s is the thing out here. A slushie spot that serves sandwiches. I was told from Murs to go check this spot out. I got the strawberry/piña colada eegees. It was a nice slushie with the coconut tiny chunks in it. I also ordered the ranch fries which were fries with ranch and bacon bits. Those were simple yet very addicting. Then I ordered the roast beef sandwich with cheese and au jus dipping. Very good with the white bread very soft. I really liked it. Very simple and tasty.

I was introduced to Eegee’s drinks and subs back in my dorm days at UA. It’s like UA’s go to for catering of any and every event. Let’s just say I became very familiar, too familiar. A lot of what Eegee’s has to offer you has to do with nostalgia. It’s Tucson’s staple and pride(hell there’s a friggin wikipedia page for crying out loud). And well since there aren’t too many inherently Tucsonian things to rave about, Eegee’s hipe is a bit on the inflated side. If you’re not from Tucson, then you’re just not going to get what the big deal is all about. If you are from Tucson, the big deal for you is rooted in your childhood memories, let’s be honest. Whatever, it’s cheap! Basically here’s the scoop — if you’re staying in Tucson and thinking Subway/Quiznos for lunch. Opt for Eegee’s instead. It’s a tad bit better. And yes, get the Eegee’s drink too. It’s part of the experience.

I have lived in Tucson for the past 4 years and am shocked at the praise Eegee’s receives. Eegee’s is a combination of Subway meets Sonic in a horrible way. They have a pretty typical menu variety of about 15 – 20 items with a main emphasis on their sub sandwiches and slushies. All the food is sub-par and is priced accordingly(average meal is ~$ 3). I would not recommend Eegee’s to anyone and will hopefully never eat there again.

Eegee’s prices are pretty steep, but their fries and slushies are unbeatable. This particular location has pretty solid workers(unlike some of the other locations where they don’t seem to care about getting your order right). Also, they’re finally updating their graphic design! The 80s-era design and photography was getting pretty ridiculous, good to see they found someone with some skill to update their image.

I have been going to Eegees longer than most reviewers on this site have been alive. In fact, I used to play on their little league team as well as Saguaro Electric(see how many of you remember them?!?). I also was one of the ones that bought their slushes when they used to go around to all the baseball fields selling them before they ever had a store. For the past 30 years, they haven’t touched their branding at all. THAT is what made Eegees so comfortable to those that have been going there for decades. However, over the course of the last couple of months they have done away with their Trademark yellow and green combination. I HATEHATEHATE their new packaging. I used to be able to spot an Eegees cup from a ½ mile away. Now they have changed them to these generic ridiculous orange and off red color ones. What I’m trying to say is that they are slowing changing what has made them so endearing to Tucsonans over all the years. They have done away with the«Quart» size and changed it to «Large», and a half-dozen other little things that have equated to a slow erosion of their native brand. The reason for the changes are probably the result of Ed and Rob selling it to CEO Foods in 2006. CEO foods is a southern California company — so it would be safe to say they really don’t know much about the Tucson market. I still always order the«Club sandwich» on wheat whenever I go. I don’t think it’s on their menu anymore, but they still make it if asked. It has a few different types of meats on it as well as some bacon. I really liked the fact that they were always involved in the community even from the early days. Also that they went out of their way to hire mentally handicapped persons and give them the means to attempt to make them self-sufficient. Eegees truly is a Tucson success story. I only hope that they don’t further alienate their loyal patrons.

Nothing beats a Scrawberry Eegee’s on a hot summer day. Any of their subs are a treat as well. Hell, I’d eat their bread with just lettuce and mayo… I just found out that they deliver Eegee’s to locations outside of AZ… I remember eating Eegees as a kid, so putting rum in it never crossed my mind until now… That sounds so good… yet so dangerous…

Yep, Native Tucson boy remembers that the Original Eegees was just down the street. I remember when they opened, and they have been a favorite in the summer for a while. The sandwiches are«pretty damn fine», and the Eegees, are the BOMB! Every month is a different flavor {orange dream, tangerine blast, loco lime, banana blush come to mind) The lemon is super on a hot humid day, or to spike up a summer night! A must to take your out of town friends!

Yuck! Not impressed with Eegee’s at ALL. First off, when hiring staff… make sure they are at least educated enough to work a damn register AND converse in English without having to repeat yourself 9TIMES. Second, if you are going to make a sandwich called a «grinder»(something i’ve only found here in AZ) Go easy on the oil… nobody likes a soggy sandwich! Third…AGAINTUCSONAGAIN! PLEASESTOPTELLINGMETHATTHEFROZENDRINKSAREOUTOFTHISWORLD! All that I experienced out of the stuff is that it was sugar water and ice. No Thank You, I’ve got Kool-Aid at home.

I LOVEEEGEES! Like Campbell B. said… there is NOTHING else like it in the country… They specialize in slushie drinks… in fact… you can buy like a whole cooler’s worth! lol The Lemon Eegee is the most popular and I recommend, ahem, missing in some Vodka for a truly pleasing Summer bevvie! Great for a party… or a picnic.

Tucsonans know Eegees, Eegees knows Tucsonans, out of towners are a little suspicious of such goodness. My husband’s from KY and he’s not particularly fond of Eegees, but as someone raised in Tucson, I’m all about it. As a child Eegees offers a nice alternative for you and your parents to other fast food joints. You’re excited about the the frozen drink(in a variety of flavors), they’re excited they don’t have to cook. As a teen Eegees mixes nicely with your vodka while in a concealing styrofoam cup. As an early adult Eegees is again cheap and good and fast. What I’m trying to say is that Eegees is the type of place the grows with you. Isn’t that special? Other things I like about Eegees: Eegees frozen drink mixed with soda = Eegees fizz Fries and ranch(note: not Ranch Fries) Veggie grinder Plain turkey sub with fries on top Having a local place to call your own, it’s ok that you don’t get it, non-Tucsonans!
