NOTCLOSED!!! just new owners as of April 12016. Good thing I called! They kept alot of the special rolls but I had to ask to make my fave Steve-o roll, which was unfortunately dropped. They were very happy to make it for me. Sad they switched owners but happy they are able to keep the same hospitality and of course make my Steve-roll!

Really nice sushi with lots of choices, sake-bombs are an always for us: D I’ve yet to come in and it be overly crowded. Our second best sushi spot to go to in Tucson. also, NOTCLOSED like Unilocal seems to think! They closed their doors for a little while during a change of management but they are open again.

This place is just superb. We went on a Wednesday evening for dinner. There were a few people. Food is superb. They give you free miso soup. They have excellent Nabeyaki Udon. The plate of mixed sashimi was so good as well as their sushi. Their rolls are not smothered with so much rice so you don’t get stuffed that quickly. I hope they would have more customers because their food is way better than any all-you-can-eat sushi places.

Folks– go to their happy hour! It is worth it! It is an affordable place to get decent sushi. There are big TV’s surrounding the place, so you can watch a game while enjoying some fishy goodness. The service is okay, the one time we came with a bigger group, there was only one waitress and she was obviously struggling to keep up with the restaurant. I feel that’s a management oversight. Have more staff on hand to keep up with demand. One star docked for being out of tempura ice cream. We have come twice already and every single time they’ve been out of it– tsk tsk Bushi. Other than that, this will most likely become our new go to sushi place.

Great service and really fresh, delicious food. Try the Bushi roll! It sounds unusual, and I didn’t take a chance on it until my 3rd or 4th visit. I wish I hadn’t waited — it’s a real standout.

Very good sushi and unique. Only problem oh my god they are so slow! We waited so long I thought maybe they lost our order… I thought that the white tuna was very good and very fresh the Cherry Blossom roll however was overly sweet and dripping with sauce. good if you like your sushi to taste like dessert!

Came here for a business dinner. Selected it based on the positive reviews and we were not disappointed. Had four rolls –don’t remember the names but one had strawberries(yum!!!), one had mango(delicious), and we had a Rock n Roll with spicy tuna. Will definitely be back.

My boyfriend and I went here for happy hour today and it was amazingly good! There was about 3 other group of people there but the owner took our order and brought us complimentary miso soup(which was great!). We ordered 6 rolls and some crab puffs and all of which came out pretty fast. The service was excellent, sushi was better than most places we’ve been too, and crab puffs had a lot of crab and enough puff. Happy hour prices were reasonable(lowest was $ 2 and highest I believe was $ 7⁄8). I would recommend this place to everyone. Family own business and phenomenal food and service!

Excellent service, exquisite sushi, unique rolls/try the cherry blossom. Generous portions of squid salad. This is going to be my new favorite sushi bar. Complimentary miso and edamame!

This was our first time to Bushi. My family came for the sushi & sashimi. I came for the tempura shrimp. We enjoyed the food very much. It’s a quiet restaurant. No big crowds, but the food & service were excellent. I was disappointed that the did not have fried ice cream. Others in our family felt the rice was a little dry. It didn’t stick like they wanted. This made it hard to eat with chopsticks, which is a challenge we enjoyed facing eating here. We will definitely come back!

I’ve passed by this place so many times and finally stopped in for happy hour and Im so glad I did! The prices were so reasonable that my hubby and I tried several different sushi rolls. the sushi was so fresh and delicious. I believe the sushi chef is the owner and he was so humble and pleasant. We’ll definitely come back again!

this place is such a find! can’t believe I haven’t tried it before! the place is super clean, nicely decorated, and the waitress was the nicest person! She clearly explained that they have a happy hour sushi menu(and that the 10% off Unilocal discount doesn’t apply to those rolls), but she did give us the 10% off the other non-hh items we ordered. so super sweet — she was great! The sushi was all very tasty! fresh ingredients, perfect rice, and the sizes were reasonable. I hate when the piece is so large you can’t eat it in one bite. We ordered the Mango/salmon roll, the Bubba roll, california and philly — all were really tasty! Some of my favorite sushi that I’ve had in town so far! They had a really nice selection of rolls on the HH menu. The more fancy rolls weren’t included on the HH menu, but getting some cheaper options cheaply so you can splurge on the more ornate rolls was pretty cool. I’d highly recommend giving it a try!

I LOVE this place! I was looking for a nice sushi restaurant for us to go and everywhere else seemed like it was a low rent place in a strip mall. Bushi is not super fancy and not super expensive. They are super good though. You get miso and edamame for free to start with before your meal… much like an italian place bringing you bread before ordering. That was so cool. The rolls are unique and wonderful and I would come here all the time if I lived in Tucson. I will mention though that if you want a really fancy place, you should try up on Sunrise Drive. the area isnt the best here, but it is near a Sprouts, so thats not all bad. The food is excellent, the service is excellent, and the prices are right

First, I feel I should start by stating how hard it is to find a good sushi restaurant in the Tucson area. My husband and I had been looking for months and are now happy to have finally found a place that we will come to regularly! Bushi really impressed us. We walked in and the atmosphere was very calm and quiet with great décor. The staff were all very friendly and helped us out right away. The quality of the fish was incredible! It tasted so fresh. Every dish that we ordered was prepared impeccably and looked beautiful. The menu had a huge selection of fun and different rolls to try. We order the Chicken Yakitori appetizer for our daughter. It was very tasty and cooked to perfection. For my husband and myself, we ordered a salmon sashimi platter with Serrano peppers and a delicious sauce, two pieces each of tuna and salmon sushi, a Steve-O Roll, a Mango Crunch Roll, and a Rock & Roll w/Spicy Tuna Roll. The mango crunch roll was a little too sweet for our liking, but the flavors on each roll were perfectly balanced. The salmon sashimi platter was something that I would eat every single day. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be returning soon!

By far the most under-appreciated sushi place in Tucson, which makes me both happy and sad. Happy, because every time I go there’s nobody there and there’s no wait to get in, no loud clamor of drunk college kids like at some other sushi places that shall remain garden-less…I mean nameless. But it makes me sad, too, because this place deserves better business and I would be very sad if they ever went out of business. Truthfully, I think they have the best sushi rolls in all of Tucson. It is not all you can eat, but if you go during their happy hour and order off that truly extensive menu, you will eat to your hearts content and wind up paying less than you would have if you had gone to all you can eat. I know, because I’ve done just that. My wife and I on one particularly hungry day ordered approximately 8 rolls between the two of us, plus sake bombs, and still payed less than we would have for just the sushi elsewhere… and we were STUFFED. So you do the math. The staff is always super friendly, and I haven’t seen him the last few times but Shun is a master at making sushi and small talk. Very friendly guy. I will be back as often as I can, honestly. It’s just sad and odd how nobody knows about this place. Every time I bring it up to a friend, they’ve never heard of it. Hopefully, they can remedy that situation and keep everything else the same.

Bushi is one of my midtown favorites, and I can never understand why it’s always so quiet. The booths are typically filled with romantic couples while the center of the restaurant is ghostly quiet. When our Cherry Blossom roll was presented, I had to stifle a squeal of delight. Artfully displayed, it looked like a colorful caterpillar with radish-sprout antennae, orange roe sprinkles, and avocado stripes. Our nigiri(crab and yellowtail) were melt-in-your-mouth fresh, and even the cuke salad here is a delicious sesame-sweet piece of art piled tastefully and topped with succulent strings of crab and sprouts. The Yummy-Yummy and Playboy are outstanding here as well.

Yum! This seems to be a very under-appreciated sushi place in Tucson. There is never anyone in here when I go, and I don’t hear about it much. But this sushi is amazing. Really. They have very unique creations, including my new favorite thing, the Sweet Potato Roll! Ugh! No fish, just sweet potato and I think eel sauce. Dear lord, it really is delicious. They have special rolls that seem to change some what frequently, like the Greek Roll, which we tried and it was darned tasty. The prices here are very affordable. My husband and I comment, every time we come, that the sushi is WAY better than Sushi Garden, and even though they don’t offer All You Can Eat, we wind up paying the same amount for the same amount of food, and the sushi tastes so much fresher! The Happy Hour here is great, too. Hooray for sake! This is one of my favorite sushi places in Tucson. Good prices, amazing sushi… yum! I smell today’s lunch!
