WARNING!!! SERIOUS WARNING!!! STAY AWAY!!! The five star review here is probably bought. I survive cheap hotel in India with no complaints. This takes DISGUSTING to whole new level. Make you pay $ 2 extra which is not mentioned prior to booking!!! $ 5 more, go to Red Roof which is just a couples minutes away. My underwear is cleaner than their pillows and sheet which is sprayed with air freshener. Mold in shower! Room #35 where we stayed, I believe is HAUNTED! Our bathroom door opened by itself. Could not sleep! Loud street! Please, camp out on the side of the road than stay here. Stay AWAY. FAR, FAR AWAY!!!

After getting the key and walking to my room I saw a bunch of guys hanging just a few feet away from the lined rooms in the dark drinking alcohol. The room STANK of cigarettes and was very dirty. It only took me 5 minutes to realize that I wasn’t going to stay here and got my
Money back. Also the power didn’t work. It’s in a bad area so if your considering staying here don’t.

Shittiest motel Ive ever been to. Tile floors, black mold in shower, 4ft shower head, sticky table, no swipe key, only one copy of metal key. Do not stay here.

I think one star is the least you can give this place if I could give it Minus stars I would when you want in to your hotel room it smells unfortunately I was carrying a black light with me and that was unfortunate because I was very very tired there is no way ever that I would sleep in this room the bedspread itself must of been covered in some kind of bodily fluid of sorts because it lit up Like a Christmas tree after I pulled back the comforter it wasn’t much better with the sheets and pillows not to mention the backboard the bathroom was no better And the floor was even worse just saying no don’t do it I walked out you should walk out to

I had to stay at a place while looking for off campus student housing. I wanted it bare bones and CHEAP!
Right down the street is a Best Western that had FANTASTIC rooms with everything… for about $ 65 a night.
So the whining pussies on here that gave this place a bad rating were simply being greedy. You are not going to get a best western or above type room for $ 28 a night… just not going to happen!
You STAY at a place like COPPER CACTUS INN for 2 reasons: location and price and NOTHING ELSE!
It is 1 block to pima community college,… across the street from the famous MEET MARKET dive bar.
…2 min drive to the U of A, etc, etc, etc…
i enjoyed handing over a twenty a five and 3 ones for my stay. I would not have enjoyed handing over 3 twenties just to have a flat screen and a cleaner room.
I am giving this place 5 stars because at 10:30pm at night… my window aircon quit working. I went over to the manager window expecting to be told to wait until morning, but instead, the manager, his wife, and his son, got a BRAND NEW airconditioner out of their storage, came by and replaced it and 30 mins later, I was relaxing on my cheap bed watching my cheap tv in cool cool comfort before I passed out into la la land.
BOTTOM LINE: If you are a PUSSY and a SHIT FOR BRAINS… pony up $ 60 or $ 70 and STAY at the Best Western.
If you are a REAL man that has any true grit… been in the military, not born with a silver spoon in your mouth etc… you can handle the COPPER CACTUS INN.
All others: Please please please close your legs… we can see your vagina!

Please do not stay here if you can help it. The rooms are super tiny, in bad shape, and the bed is horrible. We also found a huge cockroach in the bathroom. Not a place I recommend.

I chose to ignore the folks on Unilocal and go for the cheaper motel, and boy do I ever regret it! The good part was that it was cheap, and that there was a bed. That’s about it. Everything was very VERY dirty. The sheets came with some additional stains and hair that should not have been present, there wasn’t a clock (just why?), the dirty shower/​tub consistently backed up and always had foreign objects floating on top, there was a piece of tape covering the side of the AC unit where they cut the hole too large, the parking was extremely awkward, and last, but certainly not least I would like to address our friend Mr. Cockroach who was about the size of half of my hand. Lesson learned– cheaper is not always better.

As the other reviewers say, this was a horrible place to stay. And they charged like $ 16.00 tax… That’s like 50%. Very dirty and just plain gross… The people were nice that run the place, and it was quiet. Other than that I would only recommend my worst enemy to stay here. not a place to go if you like clean pillows and beds. or if you like a clock to look at when you wake throughout night. We have driven cross country and stayed wherever we could find a reasonable place and nothing we got for 9 nights in strange little cities was even half as bad as this, I guess you really get what you pay for with this place, the walls are dirty and patched everywhere, the floors are dirty, there is mold in showers, the bed looked like it had been there for years, the pillows were filthy and smelled, it was bad. If you go there be ready for a nasty dirty place.

The Copper Cactus advertises $ 32 rooms including tax but they charged me $ 38 even after I showed them the ad, saying that it was a mistake. I paid the $ 38 and that was a mistake. The hot water is barely lukewarm and when I complained they did nothing to fix it. Stay away!

So the raving FIVE STAR (fake) review has been filtered! beware: these people are obviously untrustworthy scammers if they’re capable of all this nonsense.
FRAUDULENT REVIEW ALERT: the review following my original review is a fraud posted by the owners! Before my review there was no information on this page about the motel and no photos. All of a sudden after my post this Unilocal page is a wealth of informative (and positive) knowledge about this place.
Most important of all the review posted after mine is a copy of a review posted for the Copper Cactus from another website at least a year ago; and the Unilocal account that posted has a history of only one review… the Copper Cactus! They think we’re stupid.
The owners also let me know that their son is very involved with their online presence so maybe they have him on the job. Hi, scammers!
