My mother and I stopped into Cupkates for a sweet treat for dessert. It was around 4 in the afternoon, so the flavor selection was a little limited. Cupcakes are $ 3.25 each, which I found a bit steep for fairly basic cupcakes. None had any kind of filling, only a couple had items like sprinkles on top. I decided on the Rich and Famous, which is a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting. The cupcake was moist and the frosting to cake ratio was perfect. My mom said her cupcake was a tad overdone, a bit on the dry side. For $ 3.25 a pop, I expected to be blown away and I was not. Cupkates gets an average rating of 2.5 stars from me, but the shop was clean and the employee was friendly so I will round up to 3 stars.

I walked by Cucakes on my way into Bed, Bath and Beyond, and I noticed a flyer on the door advertising 2 free cupcakes when you bought 4 — I had to go in! I got six cupcakes, in 3 different flavors and the girl who helped me with them was great, very informative and not pushy. The location is really cute and fun, and it would be nice to come and enjoy a cupcake with girlfriends one afternoon. The cupcakes: really, really delicious. Everyone who ate one made that face after their first bite — you know, the«please tell me I have died and gone to heaven, because there is no way this cupcake can taste this good!» I really appreciate their(tasty!) vegan options, too! Yum! I’ll always support a local place, don’t miss out!

Are you kidding me? Hands down best cupcake in Tucson. Moist, subtly sweet cake with heaping fresh icing. The red velvet is my favorite, but every flavor Ive tried is delicious… they’ve got carrot cake, a vegan lemon cake, double chocolate, white chocolate cake with coconut icing. Seriously incredible! They’d closed down for a bit but are back now so get over there and support a local business. The only«con» is the price. $ 3.25 per cupcake seems a bit extreme… but I actually like that they’re a little pricey because it keeps me from buying them everyday!!! I also understand that they have a lot of overhead since they have a store and employees. Maybe they could join the food-truck craze and cut down on some of their costs, but I digress. Cupcakes that can’t be beat! Get you some!

I found the cupcake frosting o be really really sweet and the cake part tasteless. Iguess you can say my expectations of a fab cupcake are really high. I try to taste a cupcake for every town I visit across the U.S. and would probably not return here.
