This is a weekly food truck roundup held every Wednesday evening on the NW corner of Campbell Ave. and Ft. Lowell. I think that there are always a good variety of trucks there that will give everyone a nice choice on something to eat. There are usually around nine to ten trucks with a few regulars, some semi-regulars, and some new trucks every week. I can’t remember when they started doing this, but it has been going on for some months now at the time of this writing, easily six months. This particular round up gives a portion of their profits to a cause, usually to help provide food for wild horses. The organizer, Donna, always has a table there as well selling Arizona type things to help raise the money. Some of the regulars(check out any of these trucks here on Unilocal,on Facebook or Internet search) are Jozarelli’s(Italian), Kadooks(Caribbean), BurgerRito(American, sort of) and a shave ice truck of which I cannot remember the name. Semi-regulars are The Twisted Tandoor(India), Ahiska Turkish Food(Turkey) and the Haus of Brats(German). On this last Wednesday, these additional trucks were there to give you an idea of the variety: Guero Loco’s Bubba-Que(BBQ), Serial Grillers(Philly steak sandwiches and burgers), Cheesy Rider(grilled cheese sandwiches), Bam Bam(Mexican Asian fusion). In the past, I have seen the likes of Pinup Pastries and a DJ there mixing up the tunes. There are tables and chairs and parking in the lot behind them. What our family does is get what we want and share it all. We often will have purchased something from four or five trucks for the three of us. Food truck roundups are fun and tasty and a great way to experience Tucson.
