Don’t know what I was expecting, but this has to be the best fish and shrimp tacos I’ve ever had. The fish and shrimp tasted super fresh and were beautifully fried– not too heavy at all.

The best fish tacos in Tucson! The prices are amazing, clean for being a food truck, I love this place you have to try

I’ve searched high and low for the perfect fish tacos in Tucson and this taco truck is definitely in the top 2. They definitely give the LARGEST cuts of fish per fish taco in this town. They are deep battered/fried with a crisp/airy shell. The tacos don’t come flavored/seasoned, however they have a really good salsa/pico bar. (compared to the fish taco truck on grant, the ones here have larger cuts of fish, but less seasoned/flavored) Lots of clean outdoor seating under a tent.

O. M. G. By far some of the best fish tacos I have ever had. Fried to perfection and the selection is wide and delicious no mater what you go with. Tucson, there is no debate just come here and get your grub on. They are clean, have an awesome area to sit out of the sun, and a full bar for condiments and salsa for your tacos. Taco Fish? 2000% yes.

THE best fish tacos in Tucson. The tacos are unique and consistently huge. The salsa bar is always stocked with awesome sauces and condiments. The prices are super cheap too. My only complaint is they are only open until 3:00pm, but other than that exploring their menu is a real treat.

This place is reliable and super tasty. They are consistent in quality and preparation. I’ve tried a few items now and feel comfortable, pleased even, to give them 5 stars. They have fried food and«clean» food, cheesy food and plenty of dishes without cheese. Their fried shrimp and fish and the marlin chili are the foundation to their menu. Most everything is built off those. The fried shrimp and fish are always good, with a nicely weighted, crispy batter. I have two favorites here. 1. The Chili Cheese Taco is fried shrimp over a hash of guerrito chilis and cheese on 2 corn tortillas. A lot of cheese compared to most tacos, but it is the perfect amount here. 2. The Taco Gordo is fried shrimp and fish over the amazing marlin chili on 2 corn tortillas. The marlin chili is like a fish stew for lack of a better description. It has a red base, lots of onion, peppers and chilis. The way the veg combines with the marlin is perfect. I AMNOT A FANOFFISH!!! But I AMCRAZYABOUTTHISCHILI! The Tostada de Ceviche is also winning. Little shrimps cut up into what is basically a robust pico de gallo, but a really tasty, light dish, and a great value at $ 4.50. The tacos are $ 3 – 3.50, which is a little pricey for some at a taco stand, but again the value is there. The fixin’s bar just covers the basics, but the food is so good that I barely use it anyway. And genuine Mexican cokes. A perfect lunch.

definitely a contender for ONE of the BESTFISHTACOS&THEBESTSHRIMPTACO i’ve ever had… sure it’s pricier than other taco places in Tucson(each tacos around $ 3BUT the tacos are larger so it’s worth it) reasons i love Taco Fish? 1) the deep fried crust is so perfectly LIGHT&AIRY 2) they give you enough meat in each taco to make 2 tacos which you can easily do since tacos have double tortillas 3) the unlimited toppings/salsa/sauce bar allows you to customize your taco PLUS the crust of the fish & shrimp don’t get soggy before you dive in… gimme some slaw, pico de gallo, the green & red cream sauces and I am one happy camper yeah Taco Fish is an outdoor cart so sitting out there in the summer is BRUTAL but they open early so i made it a 9 am breakfast OR you can go to their other indoor location i’ve also had the El Gordo taco which has a little of everything, including marlin but this taco was so loaded i couldnt even pick it up NOTE: NOTOPENONSUNDAYS& they close early all other days

The. Best. Fish. Tacos. Found this place on a whim after craving fish tacos and I’m so glad I did. To start off, it’s a food truck so I had high hopes of it being good, cheap, fast, and dirty(in a good way) which it all was and more. After trying the fish taco, shrimp taco, and Gordo taco, I have to say I enjoy the classic fish taco the best. Its battered and fried up right before your eyes, each taco comes on a stack of 2 buttered tortillas, and then you have the condiments stand which has all the toppings you need like pico de gallo, cabbage, onion, lime, and sauces(cilantro/green is the bomb, but chipotle/orange is good too). After loading up my tacos to perfection, I usually take the bad boys home, open up a bottle of corona and BAM. It feels like I’m eating tacos beachside in San Diego(at least in my mouth). The fish is so flaky, crispy, and complimented with the flavor of the pico and lime gives it a nice tangy kick, with the sauces — oh man it is divine. The proportions are also very satisfying, and 2 tacos are the perfect amount in my opinion. If you haven’t tried this place, I highly recommend it, just be aware that it’s a food truck and not some fancy sit down restaurant. Also, I would recommend bringing cash if you can as they have a $ 0.50 fee for cards. But so worth it even if you don’t carry cash(who uses cash anymore these days anyways)

Fantastic! These fish tacos were dynamite! So tasty and delicious. The sauces were great — I tried the cilantro as well as the chipolte sauce. The salsa was tasty. Then to top it off, the Cokes that they had were Mexican. So they were way better than what you normally find. The worse part was trying to find it. I didn’t realize it was a food truck initially(I was looking for a restaurant or building). I didn’t expect to like it this much. Really wish they were open later than 6pm…

I had my second experience there today and it was just as good as the first. Taco Fish truly serves the best fish taco in Tucson! For $ 3 you get two tacos and they are sooo tasty. They have a limited toppings bar, but it is in no way unsatisfactory. The two homemade sauces alone are worth going for, especially the avocado/cilantro concoction. My only complaint is that they’re not open for dinner(it’s just so hot during the afternoon), but that won’t stop me from making future trips to try out the rest of the menu.

Great fish tacos and cheap! You get enough fish in one fish taco to split it into two tacos! We stop here at least once every time we’re in town. The tacos are always great!

This place offers some very different options such as Marlin and Manta Ray tacos. Although I didn’t enjoy these meats as much as shrimp or cod, it wasn’t because they were cooked poorly or because the met was bad; I simply found the meat to be too different for my taste buds. I did end up trying a shrimp and regular fish taco, and both were very good. They have a very nice salsa with tons of options. Nice outdoor seating as well. I will definitely return soon, and may even consider changing my review to 5-stars.

We stopped at Taco fish in the middle of our taco crawl. They are located on a food truck in a parking lot on Grant and 6th and blow their next door neighbors out of the water with the amount of business they receive. They don’t make Carne asada tacos, but we added them to the list because of their fish and shrimp taco reputation. They specialize in Marlin, Stingray, shrimp, another fried fish and tostadas de ceviche de camaron(shrimp) The Shrimp tacos at Taco fish were incredible. You are handed two corn tortillas with 5 large shrimp on them. There is a toppings bar in the middle of the tent and you can load them up to your hearts desire. The shrimp were so big, that I split the tortillas at made two tacos from one. We also had the tostada de ceviche de camaron(shrimp) at $ 4 and once again Taco Fish doesn’t skimp on the portion size. I asked for mine to go after realizing how large they would be, and worrying about my tostada being soggy when I got back to finishing it. The ceviche was placed in a 16oz cup and was filled to the shrimp with shriimp, pico mixture. The homemade tostadas were placed on top wrapped in foil. The lady behind the counter handed me a plate and told me to grab my toppings and she would wrap them up for me. What service! At the toppings bar i chose, the special avocado sauce and slaw as well as the pickled red onions. I skipped the pico de gallo, because I didn’t want the flavors to overwhelm the shrimp tacos, and I had some in my ceviche. I also grabbed some chipotle mayo, and a few limes. Taco Fish was at the top of the list of places to stop while in Tucson. The flavors were good, the food was a good value and the service is incredible. They even have a sink for you to wash your hands on the side of the truck. If you are looking for a clean food truck, to start your food truck adventures, start with Taco Fish. You won’t be dissapointed.

Out of a whim, I decided to try the shrimp taco. I really love fish tacos, but I am surprised at myself – I think I like the shrimp taco better! Nice and flavorful, not overwhelming. Delicious! Try it!

There are tacos and then there’s tacototes!(loosely translated big-o-tacos) ! The tacos at Taco Fish are«tacototes» and are prepared with all the layers needed and required in good mexican cuisine. the special house sauce, avocado spread and salsas are SOOOO flavorful! I’ve sampled the signature fish tacos and I never get tired of them. The shrimp tostadas and mixed seafood tacos are also incredibly delicious. The restaurant is nothing fancy, but I’ve found it very clean the times I’ve gone. I love how there’s a little area in the patio just to wash your hands it’s so convenient! The patio on a nice sunny day makes you feel like you could be in Cabo somewhere. One of my favorite places!

Best fish taco in town! Only $ 2.50 per taco, and as others have noted, you really get two tacos for that price, since each comes with four pieces of fish and two tortillas. Of course, the condiment bar — pickled onions, dressed or undressed cabbage, limes, pico de gallo, homemade salsas — is what really makes this place. Dress those bad boys up to your heart’s content. My rage burns with the intensity of a thousand suns every year when, inevitably, the good folks of this town decide once again that Rubio’s deserves the Best Fish Taco award in the Tucson Weekly.

I arrive at the location and there are several food trucks. Each with white ez up tents. It took me a moment to find the fish taco. BTW it’s the one with no discernible advertising. The truck has a simple menu and pictures to help your decision making. I chose a marlin chile taco, a cahuamanta taco(manta ray and shrimp) plus a viche shrimp soup. After you place your order you sit and wait until its ready. The call out for my soup! «Sopa bichi» I get my soup and grab some limes, just in case. The soup is a beautiful chile red. With spices in the broth. I attack with my spoon! And come up with a beautiful pink wish shrimp! Wish, because you wish there were more! There were about four in the cup of soup. And not much more. I swam the spoon around looking for other items. Then realized… It’s bichi soup! Naked soup! It was tasty. And lived up to its name! LOL The first taco ready was the marlin chile taco. It was loaded with marlin, onions, potato and on a double corn tortilla. Which was needed to hold the mountainous serving. I added some cabbage slaw and salsa mayo. For a championship bite! And was it ever! It was so much filling it was falling out of the taco. To my surprise there was a bit of crema in the middle of the taco. Then the call for my cahuamanta taco. Again loaded with filling. It had shrimp, manta, pickled carrots and grilled onions on a double corn tortilla. I added some salsa fresca and slaw. This was another winner. The flavors continued through out the taco. It was so filling and tasty! I definite must to return and try other items!

Found the TacoFish truck while driving down grant. It was around 10am and we were hungry so we stopped to give it a try. I ordered a fish taco and a taco gordo. The fish was really crispy and they do not skimp on the fish. You can make two tacos out of one since they come with two tortillas. The taco gordo was just that«gordo», it had fish, shrimp, & marlin. It was big but so good. My husband ordered a tostada de ceviche and the caldo bichi, which were both good. The lemonade was also very good. They also have a salsa bar that includes cream and chipotle sauce for your tacos. The girl that’s takes the orders was not very friendly, but you don’t have to deal with her much. If your like me and don’t mind eating outside on plastic tables under a shade, then give this place a try. The tacos are delicious.
