Excellent food. See pic. Had the Breakfast Tamale Pie and it was cooked to perfection. Would have provided 5 stars but the service was slooooooooow…

I’ve had mixed experiences here, hence the 3-stars. Sometimes the food and service are on point, and other times it’s all off. Overall, I enjoy it though… I keep returning, so that’s something.

Jalapeño burger with the grilled veggie salad was amazing. Great service as well. Quite inexpensive for the high quality of the food. I went there for lunch and will come back again.

Most people wont’ remember that this was the old Lerner’s Department Store, the last old school store downtown. It has been through many transitions since then some okay, others not so much. The Nook is a good transformation, I love how open it is and being able to see the kitchen staff at work. The food is good, I had a fairly wide sampling and I could order and eat any and all of them again. The service could be much better and could be a whole lot worse, there is room for improvement. The coffee is swill no better than free stuff you might find sitting for hours at the tire store or carwash. If the coffee would have been better they would have gotten a 4, I even got an extra shot of espresso in it and was still tainted. I will be going back but, unless improved I will pass on the coffee. One of my first thoughts when getting brunch or breakfast is «how good is the coffee?» so this place moves down the list because of that.

Solid place for breakfast. Some traditional and some modern stuff. Service here is always a toss up. Sometimes it is ok and other times the server is missing. Sorry EXO but I do not like your coffee.

The Huevos Rancheros are some of the best I’ve had!!! The red salsa is smoky and spicy, the beans are flavorful, the quesadillas are a nice touch. We also tried the corn tamale pie, which is also very good. I recommend getting eggs with it. The only reason this place doesn’t get 5 stars is 1. The coffee is really weak, even if I order the Americano it’s not great 2. Service is meh.

I love nook, the food is consistently good and they tend to have pretty good service. It seems that everyone loves nook though because it is always busy therefore I always have to wait for some time before I get seated. Their baled goods in the front are delicious, not too sweet and usually flaky. My personal favorite are the scones. After being seated the water they give me has been consistently dirty sometimes it smells like raw eggs. I’m not certain why but I would ask for a new one. I’ve had the BCLM which is a loco moco with bacon and cheddar. It’s a standard loco moco but the rice does not meet my asian standards. The rice lacks the bounce of the rice I have at home and when squished it loses shape. The griddlecakes however are always delicious and fluffy. The hanger steak and eggs is also a lovely meal for the price. The steak has a full flavor that can outdo some high end dinner places. The huevos rancheros is my favorite because the salsa is a lovely tart flavor that goes well with the eggs. The beans are also nicely cooked and not too salty and I love the quesidillas that come with it since they are so crispy. A few times I have had lunch here and the borolo burger is delicious but very messy. I’m not sure if they still have the korean street tacos, I’d like to try those. Nook is a lovely and affordable brunch place with great options.

This was one of the best brekkies I’ve had in a long while. It was a glorious 70 °F and sunny so we sat outside. Service was friendly and attentive, coffee was perfect and the godfather benny was outrageously good. My mate had the BLT and between us there wasn’t too much work for the dishwashers to do. The prices are very reasonable too, considering the terrific quality on offer. I can’t wait to go back to try something else on the menu. I may even be back tomorrow morning!

I’m always looking for a great breakfast place with fresh ingredients and read some great reviews about Nook before I decided to try it this morning. Unfortunately, this was my first time here and probably my last. While the location and restaurant itself is beautiful, it was way understaffed and chaotic. It took us 20+ mins to be seated and our server, while polite, wasn’t able to offer great customer service. Our food took over 25 minutes to arrive and when it did was missing things like, side of bacon. The garden omelette was heavily oiled and the arugula inside tasted off, with hard steams. The biscuit was very dry and gravy bland. We had to package our food to go, as after waiting for nearly an hour to be seated and eat, we had to go. While I understand weekends can be a busy time, I would suggest properly staffing for the busy times. I would also suggest a bit more attention to detail with the staff checking ticket times and communicating with guests. Our server stopped by our table at the 20 min mark, to finally check in on us and let us know it would be another 10 mins before our food would be ready. In that time I watched other tables who sat after us, be delivered their food and were ready to leave by the time ours arrived. I hope you can work out the kinks, as it’s a good concept and location, with a lot of potential to be great.

Tried this place out for breakfast for the first time and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great, the service was very friendly and great and the food was awesome. I ordered the sweet tamale pie which was super delicious and very filling! I was full all day. My dad ordered the godfather eggs Benedict and was very satisfied with that and said it was very delicious. We both had a glass of fresh orange juice and that was delicious and very fresh. Will definitely come back to this place!

They have such great food and the restaurant is the cutest thing! The name is adorable because it really is a little nook! They have a cute garden outside and the building behind is so pretty. Their food is pretty good but there’s not that many options. Overall, it’s a good restaurant. I would recommend going early for breakfast.

We used to live here, went to college here, all our family is here, so we come back often to visit. Living in Sonoma County now, we’ve become a teensy bit spoiled with all the the ridiculous restaurants, wineries, festivals, etc. I’d put the food in this place up against ANYTHING we have back home. It’s fresh, impeccably presented and the flavors are absolutely perfect. Not to mention it’s HALF the price of restaurants in SoCo! Friendly, attentive service rounds out the five star rating. Run, don’t walk, into this place while you can still get a table.

Vacillated between four and five stars. I’m not sure if I have too much new to say about Nook but I’ve really enjoyed the mornings spent here. Come early or you will definitely wait. The patio is awesome. Coffee has been a little on the weak side for my taste when I’ve been in, which is a shame because they brew EXO coffee. They were short-staffed(and admitted it) for Easter brunch, and the hostess stepped in to make sure we weren’t without menus or without a drink order being processed after we were seated but before we had a server. Thanks, lady. The coconut cream pie french toast was simply described on the menu with four characters: «yum.» Without a doubt the best decision of our gustatory choices. Soft, rich bread toasted to golden and rich browns on the outside, topped with crunchy bits of toasted coconut not too sweet enveloped in a sweet cream. We ordered it for the table to share amongst the party and we finished the toast within moments.

I love real food. The type of food where you can actually taste not just artificial sugars and salts, but the actual food being served. Enter Nook, a budding breakfast/brunch addition to the heart of downtown — a new face introduced during the surge of city-center investments. Yes, Nook has the nearly identical look and feel of most of these new American styled eateries in the downtown area. Built in the spot once belonging to V Fine Thai(which has an absolutely fantastic outdoor patio), it’s modern. Posh. Plush. And seemingly caters to a highly specific clientele. This irks me to no end about downtown. But Nook has won me over, and it happened with the very first bite. First, I need to give kudos to the über attentive and high quality service provided by Steven. We arrived during the latter part of a the lunch rush, just a bit more than an hour before closing. The only seats available were at the bar. Not ideal, but lovely given the open kitchen. I enjoyed watching the head chef and his mighty, tiny team working with ease. Steven let us know after we had placed our orders that a tabled had just opened. He and the hostess helped move us across the room to what turned out to be a much more pleasant seating arrangement. Awesome. The menu boasts locally-fused eats and regional favorites. Tamale, BLT, huevos rancheros, smashed hash, granola and the like. We opted for the salmon BLT, which came with a hefty serving of their perfectly seasoned fries, and the fancy grilled cheese, served with jam, arugula, prosciutto and brie. Fancy, fancy. The flavors melded perfectly. The salmon was perfectly flavored, as were the fries, which tasted like actual potatoes — not grease. And the serving was ample. I am especially excited to try the grilled cheese, tomato soup, perhaps one of their burgers, and certainly their Benedict. I look forward to my next meal, and encourage you to check it out.

Yum! We tried the famous dish: The godfather! Very good! The flavors complemented each other so well. The strong punch of arugula, prosciutto, and vinegar! We did notice, though, that the hollandaise sauce was lacking slightly. It wasn’t as strong as it could be. The pancakes are addicting. So fluffy and flavorful. I couldn’t stop stealing bites… I got the tamale pie! The sauces were to die for. I wish I had more of the cilantro sauce, just because it was that good! The tamales were very sweet, almost too sweet. I feel like more cheese or peppers would be a great addition and help cut back on the sweetness. Despite the small setbacks, I can’t muster up the willpower to give 4 stars. This place is definitely somewhere I’m bringing family for breakfast!

I was in Tucson for two days for a job interview. Prior to leaving for the airport on a Saturday morning, I stopped by Nook to meet up with a friend for brunch. I had the hangar steak, which came with a potato hash and some eggs. The steak was cooked perfectly(medium rare, of course) as were the eggs(sunny side up). The hash was a little different in that it was somewhat mashed(purposely). The entire meal was extremely delicious and definitely a bargain for $ 10. Great quality ingredients. Although the portion was a little bit on the small side, it was really tasty. The coffee was also strong and was constantly refilled. The service was awesome! Another huge plus of this place is that it is extremely cute and cozy. It has a beautiful backyard/patio dining area as well as many table inside. It is an open kitchen so you get to see all of your food being made. I am definitely glad that I stopped by here during my trip to Tucson. If I’m ever back in the area, I will definitely be back!

We had our monthly office birthday party at the Nook. Most everyone had Burgers or salads. It is very deceiving on the outside with a street side entrance and no indication of any significant activity, but once you are inside, you see there is lots of activity and they were pretty busy-which is a good sign. The seating is various padded vinyl seats with seating inside and an outdoor patio area(too cold today). I had a burger with wine sauce and mushrooms which was Awesome. It had a homemade bun and the patty was obviously handmade, thick and perfect. The sauce was tasty and complimented the meat and grilled mushrooms well. Thin homemade fries were good(I prefer thick). Wait staff were positive to our group and offered free cookies to the two birthday people. This was lunch hour downtown and there was some lack of attention to drink refills, but not a long delay. Good place and I hope to try out more– Especially the morning breakfast burritos.

I will definitely come back here in the future. My group of friends and I sat outside on a Sunday morning(10 of us) and the service was top notch! All of the food was great quality — thick, delicious bacon, coffee from Exo Coffee, biscuits and gravy with a unique taste, and some of the herbs are even grown fresh in the gardens on the patio where we sat. Great place to come for a mid-morning weekend meal.

Upon seeing all the great reviews the wife and I made this our first stop while in Tucson. As mentioned before it is a bit tricky to find but found the Stone Street easier to find. It is a charming place that just opened in March. Outdoor alfresco dining with a decent sized interior dining room with high ceilings and an open kitchen. For brunch my wife had the hangar steak and eggs, it was served with bacon butter over smashed hash. I had to have the Godfather Benedict, not your typical Benedict. Prosciutto, arugula, poached eggs served on toasted crumpets with traditional hollandaise and the kicker, a balsamic drizzle. Absolutely sinful. With the herb garden outside you knew everything was fresh. The arugula and the balsamic made it an over the top dish for me. Where I am from, these prices are very reasonable. It is so good to see new businesses opening up in the downtown area. If in the area, you need to make this one of your first stops. Just keep in mind it is strictly a breakfast/brunch place closing at 2 pm every day.

This place is super good, not only is it absolutely delicious meals, it’s also local and healthy. Nook definitely stays true to their sign, «eat well, live well» The quality and quantity of food us superb. The godfather Benedict is an obvious favorite as well as the cinnamon griddlecakes. In addition, the borolo burger is also delish if you’re in the mood for more lunch-type meal. Their espresso drinks are also amazing and they make their own soda! Nook is definitely one of the best in Tucson, def worth a try.
