North Tucson Self Storage

My husband and I used North Tucson Self Storage for 3 and a half years and just recently cleared out our space. We had a really good experience there for the entire time. Olga, who runs the front desk, is very polite. She has everyone sign in and out too, which makes the whole operation feel more secure (there are security cameras also). Their hours are decent and it is well air conditioned. We always paid months in advance so we wouldn’t forget and we ended up clearing out the space with 2 months pre-​paid and they reimbursed us with no hassle, which was cool.

Self storage units are spooky, and this one is no exception. The hall lights turn on and off automatically and are tripped by motion, so whenever I first step into that long, dark, cold hallway, the lights turn on in a tempoed sequence all they way down until it reaches the end. It reminds me a bit of The Shining. I get shivers down my spine every time.
But when you live in a shoe with your family of six, space is at a premium, and a storage unit is a must. North Tucson Self Storage is clean and well kept. They must have a good air filtration system, because no matter how long my stuff sits in my locker it never gets dusty. It’s completely indoors, so it’s protected from the elements. It’s also climate controlled, which is wonderful when you have items that are sensitive to heat or humidity. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and despite the spooky factor in the storage unit areas, the office is sorta homey and they keep a filled candy dish by the sign in area. They don’t allow mothballs and have posted signs prohibiting them, though you can smell them in there (it just takes one person trying to sneak them in — that smell is pervasive!). They have several carts for hauling stuff to and from your car, and they are always clean and in good working order. The other unit renters seem like a courteous bunch (except for the bloke who snuck in the mothballs). When I’ve been here, there is often someone walking around touching up the paint or working on one of the units. Plus, they stock RC products in their soda machine, which scores points with me.
I rest easy knowing my stuff is secure and protected here.
