This is my favorite spot in town. I love to sit outside under the cozy lights and listen to live music with the beautiful view. The food is always amazing, no matter what we try. My favorite order is the ribs. Yum!

We had dinner here on our way home from a great bike rIde. Immediately we were delighted by our table overlooking a pretty garden all aflutter with goldfinches, purple finches, quail, curve-billed thrashers and pyrrhuloxia. Then our food came and was delicious. I had the meal-sized quesadilla which came with a generous side of tomato salsa, guacamole and sour cream, and my husband had the meatloaf, which was cooked just right with a nice crust and a great smokey flavor. The reason for four stars instead of five is that the service was helpful and courteous but … very … very … slow. We’ll back!

Great customer service!!’ Was greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. Nice beer selection, had the barrio blond. Tried the cheese curds and wings for appetizers, the chips that came with the wings were my favorite. Patty melt was good. Wish the burger patty was a bit bigger. After a couple bites it was all bread, cheese, onions and bacon. The windows in the main seating area were beautiful. Will have to go back during the day to enjoy the«wildlife». Thanks for a great experience. We will be back!!!

If youre looking for good food stead clear. But if your just looking to fill your stomach at a decent price then go on in. I had the chicken pasta which tasted worse then a microwaved TV dinner. Chicken texture was like styrofoam and was just loaded with butter. Others had Mexican dishes which were very bland

The tastiest Devine swine Bloody Mary, always great drinks, terrific service and tasty burger and fries. The absolute best cheese curds anywhere and ahi tuna salad was spectacular. Great to sit outdoors with kids or adults on patio. This would be 5 stars but on Sunday my grilled mahi taco, beans and rice and my hubbies chicken enchiladas were inedible ! They were drowned in a red chile sauce that seemed like someone had dumped chipotle and chile powder. Not spicy at all but just so much of this seasoning over flavored everything. We did not send back as our family had huge servings and shared but our Mexican food was awful. We will be back but will not get Mexican food again

Back Again We have been here around 10 times now in the last year and it is always great. We decided this is the only place we will go to spend our money. Always worth it unlike most places.

If you’re on your way to or from Saguaro National Park East, Saguaro Corners is a great place to stop for a meal or at least a drink. I prefer sitting on the patio, which has a nice view of the desert and mountains. The patio also has live music on some nights, and the bands that play are usually very good. They often perform country music, but I’ve also heard Spanish guitar. This place has changed management a few times since I started eating here. The latest food menu isn’t my favorite, but it’s pretty good. The Jaime taco(a simple shredded beef taco that had survived every previous menu change) is no more. Rest in peace, Jaime taco. I miss the a la carte tacos in general. The current menu has a wide selection of items including apps, salads, burgers, and heavier entrees. I’m most intrigued by the«comfort food», which included some pretty remarkable fried food concoctions. The Haystack seemed to be a plate of poutine topped with a burger patty and an egg. I wasn’t hungry enough for any of that, so I just ordered a couple appetizers. They were okay but not great. The meatball caprese had good flavor, but it was small and only came with a single meatball. The poppitos weren’t very spicy. However, one great thing about the new management is a much-improved beer selection. They’ve added a wide variety of craft beer, much of it local and all of it reasonably priced. The beers are discounted during happy hour, making a good thing even better. This place continues to be a good stop for lunch, happy hour, or dinner.

Be prepared to wait! Food isn’t bad once you get it. Always a different excuse. This time, ticket didn’t print in kitchen. Watched people arrive and order after us, but leave before. No one bothered to check on why we still had no food after others had theirs. Guess you can serve this way when you’re the only restaurant for miles. Just watched a table of four walk out for not getting any service. Not coming back.

This is my second time here and it’s great. Everyone loved the food. The portions are large and my waitress was fantastic. The Unilocal reviews on here don’t do this place justice.

Moved to the east side of town recently and looking for a new go to family ran food n beer gig. Saguaro corners definitely fits the bill. Met gm Dave, and he really care of us. Got us a table in no time on a(surprisingly) bustling Friday night. This place went through some renos recently, but I’m a newfound customer who will definitely come back! Can’t wait to get back there and enjoy some bubbles on the patio Live music on the patio, modest tap selection and delicious food at a very reasonable price. The quote from the SO, «wow it’s nice to see normal people at a restaurant». Dave made our experience. We will definitely be back! Thanks SC!

Visiting a friend in Vail. We were going to hike in the Saguaro National Forest and stopped here for breakfast. He told us good things about the serving sizes, drinks, and view. The building is a quaint 1950s era diner with the rowdy western feel. We started with a couple of drinks, the spicy Bloody Mary was solid. My hubby and his friend got beers from their excellent craft beer list. We had the Curds of Awesomeness which were soft cheese curds fried in a tempura-like batter and comes with the SC sauce, which was like a spicy Asian sauce with a barbecue smokiness. My hubby and I got the Eggs Benedict with chorizo, our server Colin recommending it as the hollandaise was made from scratch each morning. It came with big chunks of fried potatoes and the chorizo was solid, not too greasy. Our friend got the Shrimp and Grits, and we had some food jealousy. The grits were prepared as patties, layered with spinach and corn. The shrimp and andouille sausage were plump and plentiful and sauce they were all drowning in was savory and spicy. Definitely a winner. Our friend usually comes and sits at the bar with has a nice view of the desert. We decided to sit in the dining room which echoes the 1950s diner feel. Huge windows open up to a cute bird paradise with flowering bushes, hummingbird feeders, and birdseed dispensers. It was great enjoying our meal and watching finches, cactus wrens, and a huge family of fat quail picking seeds from the ground. Our server told us that javelina are known to show up too. 5 stars for good food, good service, and a fun laid back ambiance for brunch. They have live music at night too.

Like many of my initial reviews, Saguaro Corners gets a 4 until I visit it a few more times, but let me tell you, I was more than impressed with my first visit. I’m not going to be overly wordy. The great view of the birds, the friendly staff, and the surprisingly well prepared and presented food was a treat. My mom enjoyed the lamb burger, I had the Hot chicken sandwich, while my dad destroyed a burger. All were fantastic. We also started with a mound of nachos that were classic and well executed. Creamy Monterey Jack cheese, meat, blah blah… it was awesome and I’m tired from eating… the itis is setting in and I need a nap… I’ll be back.

This place was at one time owned by the owners of the Hub. This is no longer the case, per our server. I decided to take advantage of the fact that they had live music playing and I could take my team out to a nice dinner and music. It was very casual and breezy on the patio and for being bar service it was great. friendly atmosphere and great food…

Saguaro Corners has been around since the 50s according to their sign and it definitely shows. The exterior and interior both are outdated and in dire need of some TLC. There is no coherent unified theme to the décor whatsoever. Thankfully they have the trees outside the windows peppered with bird feeders that help distract you from the odd drab interior. Our beverages arrived in filthy glassware that looked as if they were taken from a dirty table dumped out and refilled again. They had grit and grime that you could feel when you picked them up and a dingy film all around the rim. Totally off putting and just plain gross. They did exchange them after this was brought to their attention but it’s a sad sign when they don’t take the extra second to check such things beforehand. We ordered the SC Club sandwich and the quinoa kale salad. It took them 40 minutes to slap some cold cuts on some bread and toss a salad. The wait was ridiculous especially when they were nowhere close to being at capacity. The salad was actually very good but the club(billed as coming with green chile mayonnaise) had plain mayonnaise on it. The sourdough toast tasted like it had been sitting for awhile so it exchanged it’s crispness for a stale texture that wasn’t great. The house cut fries were not freshly fried, inconsistently cooked(some burnt/some soggy), lukewarm and greasy. Definitely not worth waiting 40 minutes for. I won’t be returning to Saguaro Corners, not even for the Unilocal special free appetizer.

The new owner has really turned this place around. There is finally good reason to dine here again. There was always nostalgia for me as a native eastsider, but there has been little other reason to return for many years. From the flavorful food to the great selection of craft beer, Saguaro Corners is once again a destination for the underserved east side of Tucson. We recently dined here on a Tuesday and it was bustling, with live music on the patio. Friendly service and quality food(and beer!). We’ll be back!

I grew up having dinner at this restaurant and it has been through a few changes during the years. I have been to Saguaro Corners about 6 times in the past 4 months. It is CONSISTENTLY a great restaurant now with good food and great service! It annoys me when diners have rated this restaurant poorly because it was packed and they had to wait. For God’s sake, MAKERESERVATIONS! It is one of the FEW restaurants in Tucson where you CAN make reservations even if there are only two of you. I ate there on a busy Saturday night and called that morning to reserve a table. They reserved the best table in the house for us and we had no problem! I cannot compliment the servers at Saguaro Corners enough! They are so courteous and respectful and just genuinely nice kids. I especially like Patrick and Collin. No matter how busy it gets, they are very attentive! The food is amazing! I especially like the John Wayne Burger and the Shrimp and Grits. The new owner has totally turned this restaurant around and saved a piece of Tucson’s history. It has my highest recommendation.

I can sum up my review of Saguaro Corners like this, if you are in the area eat here, but if you are not don’t travel to get here. It isn’t worth going out of your way to eat here. I find this restaurant to be just ok, but I do think the menu is overpriced. Yes, I have had some good meals here but nothing that I later craved or anything that stood out. I do love the location and if you are out enjoying Saguaro East then this is a great place to stop for a drink or a meal. This restaurant is an asset to the neighborhood it is in but nothing special outside of it. They do have nice beer selection and a big patio. They always have beer from Arizona on their list. I like eating on the patio better than eating inside. I wish they had room for more tables in the bar area, but this is just a minor complaint. All of the bar area seating is at the actual bar or outside. Saguaro Corners is now open every day of the week, a big improvement over the old business hours. They also have happy hour seven days a week. Most of the times I have eaten here the other customers here haven’t been a problem. However, once I was eating at the bar and two rude older drunk guys ruined my meal. Twice on the patio I have witnessed people letting their children run around. The second time the parents and child were actually playing a kickball game while people around them tried to eat. Just because the area is outside and there is a fence around it doesn’t make it a playground. The food is expensive for what it is and not very good. So far the best thing I have had here has been the roast beef sandwich. The wings were a joke. If you have a cocky name like ‘wings of awesomeness’ the wings should be good. An order of six mediocre wings for $ 9 is not awesome. I tried a burger and it gave me a stomach ache. People have already talked about the issues with the service. I have never had great service at Saguaro Corners and I have eaten here different times of the day, different days of the week, and in different areas of the restaurant. The service can be slow. On my last visit the manager was at our table more than the server, but at least someone was coming around. On top of the other problems the women’s bathroom isn’t very clean. It is like it is in an old gas station, super dingy. I realize this restaurant has been trying new things and trying to improve. I hope they figure out the menu, the pricing, and the issues with service soon. I want Saguaro Corners to become a great place to eat and hangout.

Saguaro Corners is a little restaurant nestled into a patch of desert at the corner of Old Spanish Trail and Escalante. You’ve heard of the middle of nowhere; this is more like the corner of nowhere. The dining room appears to be a large converted patio, with huge picture windows where birds and butterflies gather in a garden of native plants and trees to entertain you. The highlight of my lunch was the arrival of a roadrunner, who scared off all the other birds for a few minutes as he hunted for live food. I had heard of plenty of problems with this restaurant under its previous owners. And when the latest owners took over, another Unilocaler advised me to wait a while before trying it, saying they had some big issues to work out. I waited patiently, eagerly, hoping for something great. I arrived at Saguaro Corners for lunch on a day when I was working from home, which is nearby. At first glance, it’s a strange place. The furniture and décor don’t really go together. Part of the place looks fancy, but the tables and chairs could have come from a garage sale. Lunches are $ 10 or more, but there aren’t even tablecloths to cover the discount diner tables. This might be my biggest issue with the restaurant. I was greeted immediately when I walked in, even though nobody was available to seat me for about a minute. It wasn’t busy, so I was offered my choice of tables, although the waiter suggested a seat by the window, which was a good decision. The menu was exciting, with plenty of good lunch choices. I picked the pulled pork sandwich with«onions two ways» — grilled and pickled. My waiter congratulated me on my choice and told me this is her favorite item on the menu. My sandwich arrived, eventually(this is another small issue), piled high with french fries. The fries were good — salty; not greasy; with skins-on and a «natural» look. The sandwich was massive, on a perfect bun, and exactly as good as the waiter suggested. It might have been any pulled pork sandwich anywhere, but it wasn’t. They’ve made it unique. You’ll just have to try it. The staff was quite friendly and that, with the food, makes this perhaps the best restaurant for miles in any direction. The birds on the patio seemed to agree; dozens of them, from finches to quails, were pecking at feeders and dropped seed. Be warned that this restaurant isn’t fast, though. I was one of only four seated tables, two of which were already eating when I arrived. It still took me a full hour to order, receive food, and eat. They aren’t located in an area with offices, so they may not be accustomed to business lunch. But this also means there’s nowhere in town you could be working and make it here and back in a lunch hour. Ultimately, however, I didn’t take a star off for speed. I liked the food and the staff. This is a place I’d like to see succeed.

Rhonda is the best server ever! Really engaged with my crazy family and made our meal really enjoyable! The menu is pretty varied and has a little bit of everything. I had the fried chicken which was super hot, crispy, and tender — loved it. the table also ordered the shrimp and grits(2 people got it). this dish is off the hook! super rich and creamy and has a little spice from the sausage — just fabulous! The appetizers are large — the deviled eggs came with 4 on the plate and the hot dogs were nearly full size instead of the bites I was expecting. so come hungry and be prepared to leave full! they have a large outdoor patio and the full bar is separated a bit from the dining room so you get to choose where to sit. the décor and seating seems to change nearly every time I come but I think that they are going in the right direction with their changes.
