Sparkle Cleaners

I love having a dry cleaning place walking distance from my house. These guys do a great job, there’s a speedy turnaround, and prices are just right.
No complaints from me! This place is such an asset to the Sam Hughes hood.

I brought some of my work clothes in once to get them cleaned and press for some deal they had. When I came back to pick my items up they apparently didn’t have a press in my shirt size and went ahead to dry clean my shirts instead. I did not get the deal and had to pay the dry cleaning price. I did not want this or ask for it. Sure, it was only a few dollars. However, they definitely pulled a fast one on me and I do not like getting screwed over.

Had been using the Sparkle Cleaners on Tanque Verde Rd for two years. In that time, they have lost *only* my size-​8 Tall Women’s trousers. Never the men’s trousers, never my capri style pants, never a skirt, just the specialty size. They have *lost* their 3^rd and final pair. When I spoke with the manager about these issues, he took my phone number and said he would get back to me… it’s been a month and still he hasn’t contacted me. Also, check carefully your receipt. They billed me for a Blazer when I did not bring one in… oh, and the missing pants weren’t even listed on the receipt. I’m going across Sabino Canyon Rd to a competitor.

Pretty good– not great.
I have taken my shirts there 3 times now. Each time I have noticed that the creases on the sleeves are not that sharp. It should be pressed to have a line down my arm.
BUT the prices are really good. $ 1.90 to launder a shirt is a darn good deal anymore!
I’m going to try some other places but chances are I’ll be back to Sparkle.

Sometimes I think Sparkle should be called «Snarkle» instead. The frownie faces here are enough to make a clown cry.
My bud Mannie is long gone, and so is all good cheer around here. He took the sunshine with him. It’s hard to blame the staff though. It’s freaking blazing out and there is no A/​C or swamp cooler to speak of at this location. These poor souls are grumps for good reason.
I’m still pleased with the consistent quality of my dry cleaning, but the days of service with a smile are no longer.

Finding a good dry cleaner can be certainly be challenging for a number of a reasons. It can get expensive and sometimes, in the worst case, items can be lost or damaged. I’ve been out of the dry cleaning loop for several months now. Once upon a time I took all my dry clean items to Ventana Cleaners and often piggy backed on my moms drop off. Needless to say, I didn’t really keep track of their pricing, but it always seemed fair. Fast forward, and now I live on the opposite side of town and a new dryer cleaner was a must. Sparkle Cleaners, although not in my neighborhood, is on my way home from the gym and it was the first recommended place, so I went with it. It’s tiny and not the easiest place to get into during peak traffic times. The staff was not exceptionally friendly but they definitely efficient. I dropped fourteen items off and was not given a total so I had no idea what to expect. Clothes were ready the next day at 5pm. Total was $ 125, not sure if that’s considered fair pricing, but given that my items were done in one day and their chemicals are GREEN, I’d say I’m a satisfied customer. One item in particular was a white dress covered in tomato sauce; I thought it was a goner, but to my surprise it came back looking almost brand new! I don’t dry clean as often as I used to, so I’ll most likely come back here. I’m a strong believer that you get what you pay for. It’s also worth pointing out that they use hangers on all the items, no safety pins as some dry cleaners do. They also have a box for customers to return the hangers to get re-​used. I’m saving mine and when I go back, I’ll bring them with me. Even though it might cost more to be green, I feel better about it and my clothes don’t smell like chemicals!

This place has 24-​hour turn-​around dry-​cleaning services and is in a convenient location for those who work at the University or in central Tucson. I don’t get a ton of things dry-​cleaned but from my perspective, they seem to follow standard pricing. On my most recent trip, I took in a dress in that had some funny belt button detail and the attendant was nice enough to let me know that there was a risk of having the attached belt damaged. I took the risk and was pleased that the dress came through the process a-​ok.
