Stein Mart

I love Stein Mart! No I mean really LOVE Stein Mart. The nearest one to my home is 1.5 hrs away in Rochester NY so I always look for Stein Mart when I travel. This one is one of my favorites and one of the ones I get to most often.
While there is not a lot of on the floor help if you find a sales person they will always do their best to help.
This last trip I bought a pair of capri pants at this store and when I wore them 2 days later I found the zipper was defective as it would not stay up. I was heading home to NY so I changed pants and returned them at the Stein Mart in Tempe… no problem whatsoever!
Stein Mart ROCKS!

I’ve never been to a Stein Mart before and I wasn’t even sure what type of store this was. By the name it sounds like a furniture store of some sort. I’m always up for a new off the beaten path place to find great deals. Stein Mart has something for everyone. You have to look and use your imagination in some cases but the deals are great and they seem to always have some sort of coupon or special deal going on. We went here and picked up some gifts for my nieces and ended up spending much less than we thought.
The store is semi organized with some area’s a little cluttered but everything is clearly in its own section.
I thought the staff was friendly. I prefer not to be asked 80 times if I need help when I’m just walking around, some people prefer that, but I was able to browse at will. At check out, they were friendly and helpful.

I’ve always thought Stein Mart had a nice product selection, however their sales clerks suck! BIG TIME SUCK! I have been ignored, even when I needed help, every time I’ve shopped there. I just love to hear salespeople talk about their dates, make fun of how people look or how they hide behind displays because they are too lazy to help anyone.
I’m the type of person that won’t make a fuss while I’m in the store, but I will call back and ask to speak to the manager or area manager to file a complaint. I have been offered apologies and a compensation (gift card) in the past, but I just can’t bring myself to bothered by unprofessional people that are supposed to be there to provide a service. I truly believe that it is better to spend my money where the service is good even if I have to pay a more.
That’s what you get when you shop at a discount store — isn’t Stein Mart supposed to be upscale??? I won’t go back anytime soon.

This was my first visit to stein mart. I found some really great deals and we also had a coupon for red dot items. My friend and I arrived early and they let us in 2 min before the store opened. The cashier was also very nice during check out and gave my friend some extra hangers.

Great selection, but not great staff. They seemed snooty. Long line at check out and not one manager around. I almost put my selection back because fo the long wait. Cashier was snootie. I won’t go back soon.
