I took my wife there for her 50th birthday. From the front reservations person to the wait staff, I could not expect better attention to our needs. They attended to all our requests and made sure drinks were filled(water and cola), food was prepared correctly, and gave my wife a desert for her birthday. Yes the food is expensive, but in all the years I’ve been going to Sullivan’s(first time here in Tuscon. many times in Charlotte) I’ve never been disappointed or felt taken advantage of with poor quality food. It is a treat that I plan to repeat.

Ate lunch today with my husband. We haven’t been back to Sullivan’s in quite while, but thought we would give it another try. I ordered the«Fish and Chips» which was prepared with Haddock, a very mild fish. The fish or the batter did not taste seasoned and the fish was dry and tasteless. Fish and Chips traditionally is done with a light airy batter that usually rises above the fish when fried and leaves the fish very moist and tender. This preparation looked like it was done with flour and fried which left the outside crunchy and the fish dry. It was accompanied with fries that were crispy on the outside and dry on the inside and slaw that was described as creamy came out looking like shredded lettuce with no dressing on it. The server apologized and took the dish back to the kitchen to be redone and the manager came by to ask me about the returned dish. The dish was returned to me done the same way except this time with dressing on the slaw. The manager never followed up on the dish that was returned to me. Very disappointing to say the least. I lived in New England for 10 years and know what Fish and Chips is supposed to taste like. Either the chefs should learn to cook Fish and Chips correctly or they need to change the description on the menu to fried Haddock. Needless to say, I was very disappointed in my lunch.

What a great evening. Celebrated my birthday with a special night out. All the food was great. Lobster, prime rib, rich sides, stiff drinks, and a nice dessert. We didn’t have a thing to complain about. No problem shelling out this kind of money if the experience is worth it… and it was!

The food is ok, but not really worth the price. If you have to spend $ 40 – 50 on a steak there are better places to do that. Servers were nice and the ambiance was good, just didn’t think the food was all that special.

Food was incredible and the service was amazing! We went on a Friday night. Made a reservation that same day with no problem. We were sat and greeted within 5 minutes of walking in the door. We started out with bread which was warm and delicious. I ordered a 12 oz filet and my boyfriend the burger. My filet was perfectly cooked and tasted incredible. We shared a side of the Mac and cheese which was probably the best I’ve ever had! For dessert we had the chocolate cake with raspberry and ice cream. Big enough for two to share. Very sweet but still delicious. Glad we decided to share! Very reasonably priced. Last but not least our service was amazing! Sebastian took great care of us as well as the entire team. Our glasses were never empty. The manager even came over to bring us more bread! Thanks Sullivan’s for a great night out! We’ll definitely be back!

Beautiful place. Beautiful wait staff that is well trained. I have only eaten in the bar and enjoyed items off the happy hour menu. Some nights they have live music — a jazz band was quite good. I have gone here for a number of Meetup events. They have a great patio that is quite large. After 5 pm the parking can get really tight in that area.

If you want the sweetest and most attentive server than ask for Rachel. Here on business once a month and from this point further I will ask for Rachel to be our server. Ok that’s the good news, bad news is we had a cigar smoker on the patio. Not horrible except he was spitting the whole time, it was so disgusting. Tough to pay for an amazing cut of the most tender steak we’ve ever had while listening to that man spit. I give Rachel an At and give Sullivan’s a D– for letting your dinner guests subjected to that while paying top dollar for a meal. How about smoker patio in the parking lot. By the way we paid well over $ 100.00 for our meal and that man ordered one drink while we were there and watched tv hmmm

Service was great, food was okay. Maurine(I think) was our server and she was great. Happy helpful and very polite. Thanks Maurine! Food: We went with the 3course meal(42 $): appetizer, soup/salad, entrée. Husband got cheesesteak egg rolls, Caesar salad, and New York strip. Egg rolls were an interesting concept, comes with some sauce on it and mustard which I’m fine with. Husband doesn’t like mustard that much. It’s also kinda heavy. Also, should be labeled egg roll; it’s one egg roll cut into two pieces Caesar salad is normal. Nothing amazing. New York strip was cut into 5 – 6 medallion pieces, appeared to be cooked to medium rare and generally tasted good. Husband’s comments are that it was good but not amazing, not bursting with flavor or anything. Medallions were over mashed potatoes I got calamari, fresh greens salad, filet mignon. Calamari has a sweet and sour sauce. I don’t like my Calamari that way, but that’s just me. Generally the flavors were good, balanced, crunchy enough and not too much, and the bean sprouts in it were refreshing. I really liked the fresh green salad with a lot of fresh ground pepper. Flavors were light and refreshing, felt great to eat it after the heavy egg roll! Greens tasted great and there was corn on it too. I liked it so much I took half home. Filet mignon was great, lightly seasoned so it still had a lot of its own flavors, and the sauce it came with and the mashed potatoes it came on just added to it. Mashed potatoes had a good butter flavor to them and slight horseradish. Great balance. I’m so full! Lastly, because it was our anniversary, they treated us to a dessert. Thanks! We got the banana pudding which, although quite sweet, was really good! The middle was soft and juicy and the outer edges were harder and chewy. Overall, it was generally a good meal and they helped make our anniversary a special one!

My husband and I dined at Sullivan’s for the first time on February 17, 2016. We were extremely disappointed with the service and the food, probably would not go back again. We both ordered steak, medium well. My filet came over cooked and tough with no flavor. The flavor of my husband’s steak was decent but very tough. The salads and hot bread were delicious. We just don’t care to pay $ 117.00 for a good salad and bread. The only good thing about the meal was that our dog enjoyed the steak cut in small pieces so she could chew it. BIGLETDOWN!!!

Was able to get a last minute reservation on a Friday night which was great. We had a short wait upon arrival but service was phenomenal. My husband had a steak and I had the chicken. My daughter wanted shrimp but they didn’t have that option so the waiter asked the cook and they made a broiled shrimp plate for her! Dessert was a delicious chocolate cake and end to our evening. Prompt valet parking is a bonus.

Great service and great food. A free champagne toast because we were celebrating a few things. A couple of the steaks were slightly overcooked, but they were so delicious it was easy to overlook. Sign up on there site and join their club for a free order of delicious cheesesteak egg rolls. They have great martinis, a good happy hour, and huge wine menu. Not an everyday kind of restaurant, but excellent for celebrations.

Although I am still upset over my last visit, I will give them an additional star for their attempted effort to resolve my complaint. I did not call back but appreciate the message and no, I no longer want the bottle — not worth it!

Good food. Ruined by the weird service. Tried their fixed menu. Enjoyed it. Nice appetizer. Fabulous lobster bisque soup and the filet was cooked perfectly and spiced nice. The service was a turn off. I used the cutlery during the appetizer, so instead of instantly replacing the cutlery he tried to replace it in the table 3 times until I had to finally ask for a fresh setup. That was terrible.

I was a part of a party that recently visited Sullivan’s for dessert. I can see someone else from the party already made a review, but I will add my two cents to Teresa’s account. The timeline she provided was being very generous to the manager. We waited a full half hour AFTER paying for the promised manager to arrive. It became increasingly uncomfortable since we had expressed fully in the beginning that if there weren’t any bottles available it was perfectly ok. We knew from the start it was a long shot request. But the server seemed to show up each time we had decided we’d waited long enough to let us know he’d remind the manager to come by. So we kept waiting. Ultimately what was upsetting is that the manager never came and the server just ended up saying no— which simply should have been said in the beginning! Up front we clarified that we knew our request was likely to be rejected– our server told us to wait before leaving because his manager agreed to come around to us. That gave us a small hope that it might happen. We could see her walking around the empty dining room. We saw her look over to us, but she still never came. There was no excuse for being so rude to her guests and disrespectful of our time. She was reminded 3 times and chose, as a manager, not to come by. I’ve worked in the service industry, so I will add– seriously, the dining room was practically empty– maybe 3 tables. The«being too busy» excuse that can sometimes reasonably apply, didn’t. The server was shutting down his station… All around, the staff was polishing and closing out the empty tables while we waited. It was shockingly disrespectful of our time. When I say 30 minutes, please understand it’s a conservative estimate– not an exaggeration as some people are prone to do on Unilocal

Ok, so far I have only been here for after dinner drinks on a Wednesday night and the bartender was very friendly and assisted in our selection of drinks. We sat in the outdoor seating right in front of the fireplace and it was perfect for the weather !(Slightly chilly out). And the best part was the two Spanish guitars playing in the bar live! They were fantastic

Had a wonderful time here on Friday for my husband’s birthday. Was able to make reservation through Open Table, yay got my points! I am afamiliar with this place from its CHicago burbs location, and this Tucson one did not dissapoint. Much like a speakeasy, this 1940’s awesome dim-lit, quiet resturant is so relaxing. There was even an event booked inthe bar but I was unable to hear any of it in the main dining area. Was seated right away in the cosy dining room. The menu is small but is focused on seafood and steak, what else would you expect? Several choices for everyone. Our sever Forrest was great with his recommendations. I went with the shrimp and lobster bisque to start. Yum! It was so delicate with a slight sherry taste. I couldnt have eaten more than the cup it was so rich and delightful. Also had the asian inspired calamari, delicious if you are a fan of sweet chili sauce. Main course I went with the steak and lobster combo. The lobster left something to be desired, but not flawed. My expereince made me feel relaxed, happy, and I left so full it hurt. You may have to open up your wallet for this one but it does not dissapoint. Faves: Bisque, calamari

Sullivan’s used to be a great Thursday happy hour spot — great crowd, good food, good drinks, and good prices($ 5 bar menu and martinis). Things have changed a bit, the crowd has thinned out and gotten noticeably more mature, the bar menu for food has changed(bleu cheese chips and the burger remain, but no more steak), and prices have gone up($ 7 bar menu and martinis). Sullivan’s needs to step up their game — not their prices — to compete with the great downtown happy hour scene.

I am up’ping my star rating on Sullivan’s based on last weeks visit to Tucson while accompanying my boyfriend on his business trip. We both love coming to Tucson and both love a great steak. From past visits for us both to Sullivan’s, we knew we could get a great martini and dinner here near our resort. We took a car service to Sullivan’s so that we could take advantage of the dirty Martinis! Do not miss the Sullivan’s martini if you come here! It is a treat! There are several vodkas and gins to choose from; even a pineapple infused vodka that you can sample if you are unsure. We decided to sit in the bar during happy hour and enjoy one of these Martinis and catch up on our day before dinner; our bartender, Ayla was above board, amazing! She makes a mean martini and even gave us the choice of olives! Blue cheese, of course! I spoke in depth to her about France, where I lived for a couple of years and gave her tips on her upcoming honeymoon. She gifted me a champagne cork to keep the bubbles in a corked bottle after I mentioned losing my favorite one from Piper Heidseck in Reims, France. She is a 5 all on her own! I told her to find my Unilocal page and view my France stuff :) I wanted to spend all night talking to her ! That’s a great bartender! On to dinner we went. The dining room was pretty empty so we had our choice of seats. We knew we wanted filets. Scott had the three 4 oz filets with a different topping on each: Gorgonzola and garlic; French fried onions; and a Merlot reduction. He opted for a wedge salad with blue cheese. I had the prix fixe meal. For $ 42 I had the shrimp cocktail: 3 large chilled prawns and a zesty cocktail sauce; the shrimp/crab bisque(so creamy/a little spicy/yummy!; my filet was overcooked. Since it’s a primo steakhouse and it’s a pricey steak, I had to send it back. I always feel bad when I send food back, but I also feel, you can’t complain if you don’t let the staff know. The waitress was sweet and apologetic. I did notice the chef and his assisting chef consult with the manager before doing another filet over at the kitchen, which is open to the dining room. The manager came over and apologized and stated he wanted to comp us a dessert of our choice for the ‘trouble’. We weren’t planning on dessert, so that was a nice treat. My filet came out perfect and was now the 10 oz! Yikes! The bread here is amazing and so is the extensive wine list. It’s cool when you order a bottle to watch the waitress or waiter go into the glass enclosed wine cellar and retrieve the bottle as some are pretty high! Our comp’d dessert was the bananas foster bread pudding. We were so full we had it boxed and bagged and carried it back to our resort. The next day this dessert was amazing! We also took two nice cigars off the cigar menu to bring back home for later. It’s treats in a great steakhouse like this that make you want to return again and again. :-)
