This place is great. Nice and quiet, and very friendly, even though I ducked in for pick-up just before they closed. Prices are great, and the food is quick and delicious! A Southcenter gem.

Unsave if you have issues with gluten. As a person with celiac I seek out places that support safe gluten free dining. Unfortunately Indian Curry Place is not that place. It is so disappointing when the menu boldly features«ask us about gluten free & vegan dishes» and when you do inquire the staff is pretty vague about what is NOT safe to eat. If a restaurant claims to support a gluten free diet then educate your staff on doing just that. I realise cross contamination can occur but I’m hopeful of safer food handling when a menus acknowledges gluten free options. To make matters worse when I ordered and consumed what was supposed to be gluten free, I quickly felt the turbulence in my gut, and new that I had been exposed to gluten. trust me it is not a nice feeling, nor pleasant ending to a dining experience. The food could’ve been tasty but dashing home to throw up kind of clouds any positive aspects of Indian Curry Place. Kudos to the gentleman who kept the water glasses full. He was charming and super efficient.

I went there yesterday. They took a lot of time to serve. The qty of the curry was very less. The rice was not cooked fully. Lacha paratha had a plastic thing in it and they still charged me for everything. I saw a person with a big beard in the kitchen(un covered). Bad experience.

I had dinner at the restaurant couple weeks ago while traveling to Seattle area… One of the best chicken Kabobs I have ever had in Indian restuarant… Chicken came sizzling on pan… Good service… waitress a bit aggressive but I can appreciate her style being a sales person myself… if the food was average… her style would have cost them a star… Will visit again when in the area

I found this place by luck when wandering around near my hotel during a recent business trip. While I’m no expert on Indian cuisine, never having lived there… I do travel full time and have eaten at something near one hundred Indian restaurants of various types around the US. To make a long story short… if you ever find yourself within 100 miles of this place… just stop what you’re doing and go there! Seriously, the nuanced complexity and quality of the two evening dinners I had there were beyond any I’ve experienced anywhere. I can’t vouch for the lunch buffet and one should never judge a restaurant based on a lunch buffet anyway… but the evening dinner was the best I’ve ever experienced. There’s no way my mid-level skills in writing reviews can do the food served here justice and the more I write the more it might sound like I’m exaggerating, so you’ll just have to trust me on this. Try the Lamb Pasanda… just do it. It was so delicious that it became a truly emotional experience for me. They use ground cashews which is an interesting twist, but there’s a lot more going on here to make it this good. Also their Bhindi Masala will forever change the way you think of okra… seriously. Even the Muttar Paneer was a step up from any I’ve tasted before. On my next trip I’m thinking of begging them to let me watch the evening chef cook for awhile to see if I can figure out what he’s doing different than I or anyone else seems to be doing. The service was standard for a small Indian/ethnic restaurant. Remember this is a small family business and not Applebees or some other professional restaurant conglomerate… just some nice people serving great food. The pricing was what you would expect in any quality restaurant in the evening. My bill was around $ 30 to $ 40 with tip… and I took home enough left overs for a second meal(which I enjoyed all over again!). They give you a choice of spice/heat level from 1 to 6. I chose 4 and found it to be a little under-spiced for me, so they are definitely tuned in to western tastes, right where they should be.(In authentic Indian curry houses where the chef hasn’t been here for long… if you order a 4, you’re going to feel some significant heat… if you order a 6 out of 6, you’re going to be feeling some pain!) I hope you are lucky enough to enjoy dining at this unique restaurant.

This is the best Indian food I’ve ever had! Family style is the way to go, and don’t skimp on the naan. Their serving dishes are beautiful and the staff is wonderfully friendly. Let them suggest dishes if you are unsure of what to order — you won’t be disappointed.

I stopped in to this place on 3⁄28. As reviewed by others, the ambience is so fabulous and welcoming. I ordered Lamb biryani with 2 stars and it was in my opinion more than that in spice. I’m very glad that I only ordered 2 stars as I am concerned how spicy it would be with more. I am not a stranger to spice, spicy or Indian/caribbean seasoned food– authentic. Thankfully the other two items I ordered were not as spicy(although the spice was more stars). The service was wonderful. I also ordered a mango lassi which was on point in flavor. I am willing to try this place again but will definitely be very conservative with how many stars I request as I like the other flavors that are lent to Indian cuisine and not just heat.

I am so excited this place is here. Not exactly your hole in the wall Indian joint I am used to. And I am totally okay with that! The prices here are a little higher than standard but worth it considering the convenient clean location. I came here for dinner and tried there paneer and kofta curry: so. Much. Flavor. Extremely high quality. I loved every bite. Had some garlic naan which was on point. However the lamb samosa was a little salty. Still perfectly cooked though. I really like this place because the service was so friendly. However our experience it was very slow which the only reason they don’t have 5 stars from me. We spent 2 hours here and a solid hour was spent waiting for our order to be taken followed by how long it to get our food and refills. It’s unfortunate but I am excited to try their lunch time buffet.

You walk in, and you are immediately met with the scent of Indian spices. Mom had the lamb vindaloo, I had the lamb saag, and we split garlic naan and samosas. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the portions were generous. The staff was welcoming and attentive. The only thing was the restroom could have been nicer, but we went their for food, not their restroom!

I went there last night, it was wonderful. Greeted at the door and promptly seated. Menu was full of goodness but all I wanted was vindaloo. They asked how spicy I wanted(1 – 6), I went with 5, should’ve gone for 6. I really like spicy food and 5 just wasn’t enough. The serving was more than enough for me, yeah leftovers for tomorrow, and the naan was fresh and hot. I finished off the meal with the mango ice cream with mango purée, OMG it was perfect. Unfortunately I’m only in town for business, if I was a local this would be my favorite Indian restaurant.

This place was awesome. Fast service, very friendly wait staff. Naan was great as were our entrées. We were checked on by management and the whole experience was a pleasure! We will be dinning here frequently.

I had such a different experience from all the 4– and 5-star reviews of this place that I actually double-checked the name to make sure I was at the same place. I’m no stranger to Indian food — I lived in India for 6 months, had plenty of homecooked meals in Indian households, lived for more than 20 years in the Bay Area and Seattle. I came to Indian Curry Palace on a Sunday at lunch. I got the buffet — usually a mistake at most Indian restaurants — but because I wasn’t offered a menu, I figured I’d give it a try. I tried the dishes I thought I’d like, wasn’t happy, so I tried the rest. My overall impression was that the food was prepared by a spice-averse grandmother in North Dakota that been taught to cook by a person who once knew a 5th generation immigrant from India. Unequivocally the least authentic and least flavorful Indian food I’ve ever had. Veg Curry, Dal, Chicken Curry were all flavorless. No heat, no spice. Saag was creamy and clotted, but flavorless. Chicken Tikka Masala(never my favorite) had rubbery pieces of chicken in what tasted like Spaghetti-O’s sauce. Tandoori chicken was OK. Pakora was OK. Naan was pretty good. Chai was watery and lacking spice. I would give this place one-star, but I sense — based on other reviews of delicious and too spicy food — that I must have come in on a bad day. Maybe their usual cook is out sick? Maybe the busboy cooks on Sundays? Maybe you never want to get the buffet here? If you try this place, hopefully you have a different experience than me.

Great food, service, and atmosphere! Went with a group and ordered a few different types of curry(lamb & chicken vindaloo, tikka masala, and butter chicken) and all were phenomenal. We also ordered butter and garlic naan and house made chai tea, great complements to the curry. Everything was delicious, fresh, and made with high quality ingredients. We really enjoyed the ambiance as well, the dishes were served in beautiful copper bowls and the restaurant décor was very appealing. I highly recommend this place!

WARNING — Spicy food ahead! We’ve tried every Indian place in the area — and we orderd Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Saag Paneer. They ask which spice level you would like(1 – 6) and we tried 3 — which was REALLY spicy. It was so hot that we asked for Chai — which I think they made from scratch, as it took about 10 minutes. The protein portions were a bit on the shy side. The little serving dishes are a bit small — but they are deeper than most, so they stay warmer longer. Overall, we thought the food was just okay — not Amazing flavor — but a little better than other Indian options nearby. The service was attentive and the people were nice enough. If you haven’t tried the Spice King over in the DK market — make sure you do!

Great food and amazing service. We came here after calling multiple places in the Southcenter area for table availability for 2. The wait time for all the places we called was at least 30 minutes, however, the hostess here immediately got us a table during peak dinner time! Score! The servers here treated us like family and were very attentive to our needs. I thought it was very interesting to see the way the food was brought out because of the cultural traditions, which was indicative of the authenticity of the restaurant. I ordered the chicken spinach masala curry which was absolutely delicious! Got a 2 in spiciness level to improve my tolerance– plenty for me! Highly recommend the Naans as well and mango lassi.

3.5 stars. Their food was okay. Most of their curry was fairly oily in my opinion. And I understand it is curry, but there were very little chicken in a chicken curry. They set very limited amount of food for a buffet and that left me constantly waiting. Mainly for their amazing naan. But I have to admit. $ 9.99 for lunch. Worth it. And their mango drink is very good. As long you say no ice, you are good to go. Very dark but it has a nice feel to it for some reason. Their customer service is very good. Not over bearing and not to little. I love their rice pudding but their mango pudding was getting a bit hard because it was sitting out. Would be better to leave it as bigger prices rather than small. Leaving them bigger won’t dry as fast! Sadly, it’s a 20minutes drive for me. But I’ll be back when I have more time! Hell of a deal for lunch :)

Hoo-boy. This is some SPICY curry. And I’m a big fan of spicy food. We came across this place while driving down Southcenter Parkway. A quick Unilocal!search revealed this place had some pretty awesome reviews, and, as we were craving some good Indian, we decided to give it a shot. The restaurant is quite nice. They have lovely, warm lighting and the place(bathroom aside) is very clean and well-kept. The service was friendly, though very slow, given that the restaurant was nowhere near capacity. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo, mulligatawny soup, and onion kulcha to go. Their spice scale is 1 – 6, so we got the chicken tikka masala at a 2(for me) and the chicken vindaloo a 4. The portions were on par with other Indian restaurants we’ve frequented(my chicken tikka masala had about 8 pieces of 1″ or so white meat chicken with LOTS of sauce). The mulligatawny soup was also pretty average – nothing to write home about. The onion kulcha was really yummy. The bread was nice and fluffy, slightly toasty, and had a nice sweetness from the onion filling. If you stop in, this is definitely a dish you want to order with your curry. The surprise came when we tasted the main dishes, though. Holy moly, their curry is HOT. While I love spicy food, I like being able to taste the other warm, delicious Indian spices so I actually wanted this dish mild. Apparently, on their scale, 2 must mean«quite hot.» Again, I love spicy food. I eat Sriracha like most people eat ketchup. But this was still pretty dang hot. You could tell without the more intense heat it would have been a great dish; the heat just overpowered everything I enjoy about tikka masala. I also sampled the chicken vindaloo and immediately ran for a glass of water. It was practically inedible. I shudder to think what the 6 might taste like. I think I’d want an ambulance standing by, just in case. I’m not entirely sure if this was an isolated incident or what. From reading other reviews, it doesn’t sound like their dishes are always this hot. That said, I know this group of adventurous, spice-loving foodies found the curry to be far too hot. I can’t see the average person finding this level of heat acceptable. Eat here with caution!

I’ve been here a couple of times and found it to be consistent. I don’t know if I’d go as far to say that it’s the best Indian, but it’s most certainly very good. Service is prompt, friendly, and attentive. Huge rave for the garlic spinach naan, it’s soooo good! They have all of the items you’d expect to find at an Indian restaurant. Everything I’ve had has been cooked perfectly and I’d definitely come back again.

If I could I would give 3.5 stars. Food: the buffet has a bigger selection than most Indian buffets have. They have a selection of chutneys and salads too. They also have several dessert options. The food tasted fresh, is hot and they keep the items in full stock. There is nothing worse than being at a buffet that keeps running out of items and you have to wait for ages. That never happened here. The tastes are good, not great. Low spice but still has some flavor. Staff: friendly and attentive. The façade of the restaurant(and several other shops) is under construction. It can be easy to miss and deceptive. You might think it’s closed but it’s not. It’s not a bad buffet. If you are in the area and don’t feel like going elsewhere this is a good choice.

I’m not sure I really like this place. Servers are super nice and informative, but food lacks. The sambusas came half cooked, meaning half of it was still stone cold in the center, while the edges were crispy and cooked properly. Definitely did not like my 2-temperature appetizer. Next, we ordered the butter chicken. This taste like nothing but canned tomato soup with coconut milk. There is nothing amazing about this dish except my friend thought her chicken was underdone, as in, still bloody but couldn’t tell because the tandoori style of cooking method. I informed her it tasted cooked in spite of the super soft and squishy texture. The other lamb curry i tasted did not taste like lamb. It tasted like overcooked beef with hints of lamb and goat. But it was overcooked but also had gelatinous textures to it. Their complimentary dipping sauces & crackers were tasty but nothing too outstanding. Overall, this place is decent priced(12.95 and up for dinner plates) but it’s pricey for the small portion. This place, I’m convinced is precooked everything. Nothing tastes like it’s authentic. No spices stand out and the dishes tasted like it wasn’t really house made. I have definitely had better.
