The place i get ube coconut rolls. My non filipino wife loves ube cake so this is our go to place for that. Plus all the other goodies. A bit on the pricey side for the amount though.

We get our Filipino pastries here. All uniquely the same as it was back in the day. Ensemada, Mamon Ube cakes ec. The usual suspects are all here… All good pastries and cakes for a retail place.

Despite it being a bakery I’m usually here to get beef empanadas. I was turned onto this place by a Filipino friend. Now I try to stop by every time I’m in the area and buy extra to take to friends and family.(Plus, you get to go in a much shorter line compared to Jollibee’s) Other things that are good here: taro cake, taro mamon, sansrival, palabok meal.

Red Ribbon is a bakery chain the Philippines that has since made it stateside. In the Philippines, it’s one of the go-to places for buying a round cake for someone’s birthday. Besides cakes, they also have traditional Filipino bakery goods. They also have a cooked food section which is a mix of traditional Filipino food(dinuguan, palabok) and fast food items. The US locations are focused on cakes and traditional Filipino baked goods. They also serve cooked foods but tend to only feature the more traditional stuff like palabok(noodles topped with seafood sauteed in a shrimp-based sauce) and arroz caldo(chicken congee). By far, this is the location with the most limited offerings of all the Red Ribbon stores I’ve been to in the US. Fortunately for them, that’s fine by me! I don’t care too much for their cooked food. For the uninitiated, it’s still ultimately a chain. Go to a Filipino friend’s home or a mom and pop’s type restaurant for the more legit stuff! Their cakes are mostly chiffon-based with a buttercream frosting. It’s a nice combination of light airy cake with a buttery icing that the light cake can hold up. It’s light enough that I’m known to eat half a roll by myself(yikes!) My favorites: The ube macapuno cake, the ube overload cake, the mango roll and the FREAKIN’ SANSRIVAL. Mmm the sans rival. The sans rival is made with layers of meringue wafer, buttercream and chopped up cashews. I doubt it’s traditionally Filipino in origin(the techniques are very French) but I’ve always I loved it. When Red Ribbon first came to Seattle, I had to make a trip only for the sans rival. TRYIT. Seriously. If you take a bite and don’t go for it, holla atcha girl. I’ll eat the rest.

«More Than A Bakeshop!» There is an affordable menu for combo meals which includes a soda and dessert of your choice from available options. I tried all the menu items and you won’t be too disappointed. Food and Service is satisfactory! The dessert choices are reasonable and affordable. So far, every visit I’ve have been to my satisfaction. However, I do recommend checking your TO-GO orders for any errors because there is always a first time for everything! TIP: Don’t be shy — ask for recommendations if you’ve never been to a Red Ribbon BakeShop before!

Stopped by to see what they had and walked out with a Ube Mamon(purple yam sponge cake). This mini cake is light, fluffy and moist. It reminds me of an angel food cake. It’s not too sweet and was the perfect size for a snack. Oh and it will turn your tongue purple! They have many other pre-packaged items and a display case of fresh cakes too. The prices are good and the person behind the counter was nice. Next time I want to try the halo halo.

Two words: ube mamon. Those words should make any Filipino(like me) to grin from ear to ear. After having several, I was definitely grinning! Their baked goods are inexpensive and IMHO, quality items. My husband liked his weighty coconut macaroons and I’ve already extolled the virtues of that infernally good mamon. You can also get your halo-halo fix and entire roll cakes for the family. If sweets aren’t your thing, they also have savoury items like empanadas, pandit palabok, arroz caldo, and more. This place has always been hopping every time I’ve visited Jollibee next door. If you are in a hurry, perhaps get someone to run in for you and pay them in pastries? Parking can be tricky because it’s a popular pair of places to visit in the mall.

Not fresh. The cakes here are a hit and miss. If you know red ribbon they are generally very good. Cakes are very moist and yummy. So I bought an ube cake and some butter mamon. The cake was not moist at all. It was kind of dry and crummy. Really disappointing. Come to find out they don’t make the cakes here but in cali. So when it gets to us it is probably a week old already. The mamon was good but I usually like to bring one a day for work. On the 3rd day most of the mamon had green spits. These were stored in the fridge. Honestly, I think we get sold old cakes at this location. I’m not gonna mention any names but I’d rather go to the local filipino bakery that makes there cakes locally so I know I have a fresh product.

I bought a dozen empanada. 6 chicken and 6 beef. Got home only 1 box had 6 and the other had only 1 and someone had bite on it. My dumbass trusted these fucks that they would actually do their job properly and honestly. I guess you can never really trust anybody anymore. Even your own race. What a disgrace!

my husband bought an empanada today 2 box of it, we didnt notice that the other box has only one empanada(bottom box) when we got home and to our surprise theres a bite! WOW thank you so much to the Red Ribbon employee(Southcenter mall) who made this to us. so rude of you! TIPs: check your order before leaving specially if its for TOGO.

Yummy cakes but the super cheap customer service is enough to turn you off. They asked how many forks we needed since we bought a birthday cake for people to share at the location. We told them how many forks we needed. «No, that’s too many. We can only give you five.» Uhhh… Why even ask me how many I need if you can’t give me much? If your cake serving is more than the amount of forks you’re willing to give out, that’s stupid. Oh, and two napkins for the cake too? For the amount of money you’re charging for these cakes, it’s crazy to restrict the minimum amount of forks/napkins you can give out. I know Asian people love to hoard their free forks and napkins but you can clearly see that people are going to eat your cake within your food court.

All I have to say is that you must try the cream cheese pineapple loaf! Everything here is excellent.

Yummy treats at a reasonable price? Yes, please. According to Monica’s rule of bakeries, if you have ube cake, you get bonus points. I always get weird looks when I bring one for potlucks because it’s purple. I’m like, don’t eat it, more for me. People always come around which means less cake for me. *sad face* I love that they sell pre-packaged goods ready to grab and go while also having a case to peruse and drool over. The pre-packaged goodies are just my size at the right price. A choco slice runs a little over a dollar for a slice of cake that’s not too sweet. For about the same price, you can get a brownie that goes perfectly with ice cream. For about three dollars, you can get a banana bread which my family ate in one sitting. I’ve looked at the empanadas but haven’t tried them. They sit in a warm case, just ready to be eaten. Unfortunately, I was full from the fried chicken I got next door. Baked goods taste better to me when they cost less. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve paid ridiculous prices at bakeries but some days, I just feel like getting a decent snack for just a few bucks.

Take my review for this location only and not Red Ribbon as a whole. I go to Red Ribbon religiously in the Philippines and they just can’t seem to replicate the taste here in the US. The mamon is decent and the cakes are okay. they’re not made on site so when they get to your dinner table, they’re already a few days old. Freshness is the key to baked goods for me. The menu is also pretty limited compared to the menu in the PI. you’re not gonna get Lasagne or any other of the goodies you expect from Red Ribbon.

I’m a fan! While I was waiting to buy some Yum’s at Jollibee today I ended up right across the way(only 10ft to the left) and found myself buying a $ 3 loaf of banana cake. SCORE! They even had free samples out for folks to try. I’m down to buy anything here if I happen to be in the area. Reasonable prices, tasty food, free samples??? Yes… that’s what I want!

I love their mamon and chicken empanadas. Their cakes are tasty as well especially the choco mocha crunch and ube macapuno cakes. I get the dinuguan and palabok sometimes, both are really good. My husband likes their arroz caldo. My only gripe about the place is that their cakes are not baked on the premises and are made from one of their bakeries in California. If you need a special occasion cake, you have to special order the cake a week in advance. Sometimes you need a special order cake quicker than that. I can go to a couple of local bakeries that have cakes that are just as delicious but do not have to wait a whole week for one. Other than that their cakes are yummy.

Dinuguan… or dinardaraan, to my grandparents… If your family makes it, I’d love to hear what euphemism they use for the name. My family calls it «chocolate», my girlfriend’s family calls it «blackout». To those who haven’t had it, this is pig’s blood stew… hence the nicknames. No one in our family makes«chocolate» anymore, soooo… I go to Red Ribbon and get my fix. Everyone’s version is different, but I find Red Ribbon’s flavor profile similar enough to my family’s that I get homesick eating it. Getting a slice of cake as part of my meal is just bonus. Cheap — only $ 7 for a full meal(main, rice, cake, drink). I usually can’t get past the ube and mamon, though. I’ve yet to try their Tres Leches. Normally people talk about the baked goods — so I just wanted to mention the hot food. Frankly, I like the pandesal from Delite and Legacy better… but Red Ribbon is a delightful bite of family any way you slice it.

Pan de sal, all types of mamon, ube cake… This bakery is filled with Filipino baked goods. The staff was very friendly and all of their pastries looked delicious. I shared the Ube Cake(sold by the slice) with the boyfriend, and thoroughly enjoyed myself and the dessert. :-P The cake was light and fluffy, as was the whipped cream. This is a definite must stop for me whenever I’m in the mall.
